I thought that the trial was all handled expertly and thoroughly. There is certainly nothing that any appeal will have to grab hold of. They bent over backwards treating him with kid gloves and consideration that no other criminal defendant would ever get.

The evidence spoke for itself. The evidence and facts of Trump's felonious criminality were not only laid out clearly and plain as day with tons of corroboration, but the defense didn't even challenge them.

I am a bit hesitant to predict an actual prison sentence yet. But I can certainly hope. It is thoroughly warranted and deserved. Can't wait for 7/11.

I am reminded of my idea of having him serve his sentence under house arrest. If not in Mara Lago, then in his NY digs perhaps. I like the poetry of it.

I, of course, am not expert like you are. I only have my three goobers who are in agreement that the judge was unfair and made numerous reversible errors. #1 said it was the weakest case he's seen in his 60 years as a lawyer... and, that the defense lawyer was not up to the task.

But, as I say, you are the expert.

Also, GOPs seem to think that Trump will come out ahead politically when the dust settles.

    We'll see about that.

Oh, and #2 said that, after reading the jury's verdict, he still has absolutely no idea what crime Trump has been convicted of.

I am very pleased with the process and the result of the verdict. I wished the jury had deliberated a few days longer because Trump was forced to stay in the courthouse until a decision was rendered---that's almost like jail.

I don't expect Felonious Trump will see prison time. But he is forever labeled a criminal. We now know the first line of his obituary and what history books will say. Make no mistake: he is a LOSER who lost repeatedly in the courtroom in humiliating fashion.

We entertained out-of-town guests, SF liberals, this afternoon. When the verdict was announced, she remarked she hopes some Trump voters will reconsider. My reply was that if they were dumb to realize that the orange-hued grifter, scammer, sexual assaulter is crook before today, this verdict won't change their minds. But I think there are people in the middle, including classic Republicans, who might recoil at voting for criminal.

I do think it will matter to an awful lot of fence sitters, Curt. No matter what ever happens from here on, he is a convicted felon. The trial was clean as a whistle and the evidence and facts where tremendously damning for him. And he had nothing to present having even a vague resemblance to a defense.

His rhetoric is gonna go psycho-nuclear. He's gotta be shitting bricks about now.

Boy, the debates are sure gonna be fun.

    Felonious Trump the Loser.

I suspect that you are right, po, but not in the way you are hoping.

Support for Trump among African Americans has doubled since the lawfare began. What happened to Trump in New York is exactly what has happened to thousands of black men in the south with good ole boy juries denying them justice.

African Americans can see the obvious parallel. You can deny that, as I'm sure you will, but polling is consistent.

My sense, from the beginning is that Trump would benefit from the Bragg case. So far he has in the polls. My guess is that, by the date of the first debate, in a month, Trump will still be leading in the polls. We'll see.

Having said that, the one case that could hurt Trump is that documents case in Florida. However, the FBI has mishandled that evidence so badly that it's likely that most of it may never reach a jury and if it does, it may take years.

    po, Curt,

Megyn is not a GOP and certainly not a MAGA. Here's her take. She's p!$$£d!... and, as far as I can tell, typical.

I did not watch a single second of the trial, nor did I read more than a few of the trial breakdowns on the board here... yet, somehow it's all going exactly to Indy's prediction. Have I reached the point where I am predicting the future based on precognition powers alone? 🤔 I think I have. 😌
