"Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday said Russia agrees in principle with the U.S.-led ceasefire plan backed by Ukraine earlier this week, but stopped short of signing up to any deal, arguing that it needed further negotiation and must lead to "enduring peace."

    Okay, baby step. Maybe stalling. I'd have SATCOM all over that region to ensure the pieces aren't moving around too much. I'm sure that's being done, but I might tell both sides that I have that up and I'm watching. SPACEFORCE finally has a mission real time. Things will move, you just have to worry about spetsnaz/GRU* troops replacing leg units, that sort of thing. Or rocket units within reach of a city or two.

    *NOT Minions (justsayin...)

    If FDR negotiated like Trump, he would have told Winston Churchill and the other allies that they should cease all hostilities with the Nazis, allow them to keep France and any other territory they occupied plus cede part of the island of Great Britain to Hitler and the Germans.

    Perhaps. If we knew how this will turn out. AND there were generals in the Nazi army that were willing to cede almost a year prior to the fall of Berlin. I'm truly not convinced of either your negotiation skills, or military skills. So there's that too. Slow day on the lib media?

    Not really. Trump is making another assault on the US Constitution and hopes to be aided and abetted by the current Supreme Court.

    The Nazi generals were willing to surrender, not to cede territory.

    I wonder that nobody is commenting in these threads about therms Putin wants for a ceasefire. He has said before this, that he will be willing to agree to a ceasefire only if it recognises that Russia retains the Crimea and the four regions it has seized. Plus guarantees of Ukraine's neutrality and non-membership of NATO.

    If he is holding to that, what is ther to negotiate?
