I agree with you. early on, when the fires were rampaging SOCAL, I posted about working "smarter" to keep wildland fires under control. I'm not a forestry expert, and I know there are great folks out there who DO understand the issues. CO actually jumped on this in the 1990's. Those like me, appreciated the input of folks that would help us save the wildlands. That said... And I've said this before and still believe it. If the feds actually want to help the wildfire situation, they need to actually put boots on the ground and help states do that. I know some states have. Good on them. Sounds like AZ has a solution working for them👏. I'm all in favor of that. And I agree with you. We need to kick back. work on a plan. Adjust the number of employees and what they do AFTER we have a plan. Going in and just throwing stuff to the wind is stupid. This is going to affect everyone in the state. My question to the feds "what's your plan in the next five years, 10 years? longer? The sustainability issue in say, Yellowstone is a good go-to. They have a plan. You're throwing everything away and not caring that you'll rehire a bunch of them because they're who you needed to begin with. Go To Top
