Some of Trump’s Christian MAGA supporters took to social media to express their disappointment in the president’s pick.

“Even though President Trump is enforcing laws that line up with our values, that doesn’t mean he has any clue what biblical Christianity is or why it matters,” Christian podcast host John Mason wrote on X. “Paula White is a known heretic and known false teacher who has no regard for the Gospel of Jesus Christ.”

Scott Ross, a Texas-based leadership coach and self-described “Orthodox Christian,” called the move “an abomination.”

“Paula White, head of Trump’s White House Faith Office, is no Christian leader,” he wrote. “She preaches the heresies of Word of Faith & Prosperity Gospel, both utterly opposed to authentic Christianity. Worse, she has lived a life of scandal, with multiple husbands, twisting the Gospel for profit.” [That's why Donald likes her. They're of like minds. - Donna]

White-Cain, who is twice-divorced, is currently married to Journey guitarist Jonathan Cain.

“Arguably, this is the worst and most dangerous thing President Trump has done—putting a false teacher at the helm of faith outreach. Lord, have mercy on our country and this administration,” Ross added.

Conservative commentator Jon Root, who typically posts in support of Trump, wrote, “This is the worst decision President Trump has made since taking office… Paula White is a heretic, who pedals the prosperity gospel. Plus, women should not be pastors according to The Bible.”...

In 2020, as Trump was pushing the lie that the presidential election had been rigged against him, White-Cain held emergency prayer sessions to fight the “demonic confederacies” trying to steal the election from him.

***

The best hope democracy loving Americans have now is that Trump will continue to overreach, misread his followers, and drive them away. In that respect, he's off to a tremendous start.

Jonathan Cain is actually the keyboardist for Journey. He plays a little rhythm guitar too, but his main gig is keyboards and writing songs for them. They pinched him from The Babys when they broke up - John Waite's original group.

    Donna,

    You'reahoot!

Remember? Your post? "MAGA turns its back on Trump?" Shortly after the landslide? Sumpthin to do with the brouhaha that ended with Ramaswamy leaving DOGE?

You're a freakin friggin EFFINhoot! Baha!

Your TDS has a hopeful quality that's a variation of Curt's hopeful TDS.

As Sean Hannity quotes Jesus, "Let not your heart be troubled." MAGA is more devoted to Mr Tangerine Man than ever!

But, I wonder. Doesn't this baseless hope end up causing you more emotional pain than not?

C'mon man. You gotta manage your insanity with some care.

I didn't know that Cain was with The Babies, but I did know that he's mainly a keyboard player. I think he also played with Santana.

Speaking of keyboard players, I've been wanting to learn how to play piano since I was 6, but I never owned one. I've owned a Roland Juno 106 electronic keyboard for 40 years, but it doesn't have the feel or sound of a piano.

Last summer, I found a Casio electronic piano at a Goodwill here in Tucson. It looks, sounds, and has the feel of a piano, plus a lot of other settings, most of which I'll probably never use. Anyhow, it was only $50, so I just had to have it! We rented a truck to take it home.

So I've been teaching myself piano. I started out at the intermediate level because I've been fiddling around with keyboard playing most of my life, and I can already read music. Right now, I'm teaching myself to play Todd Rundgren's beautiful "Hello It's Me".

Just saw Todd last year. He only did a medley of some of the old familiar songs - Hello It's Me was not in there (even though he recorded it twice - once with Nazz and once as a solo artist). He's very eclectic musically so you get all kinds of songs, but it's clear he would have been a lot more successful if he stuck to crooner songs like Hello. That's his strong suit imho,

BTW, it's actually "The Babys" - misspelled. Actually pretty prescient thinking because in the internet age if you search "The Babies" - you get baby stuff. If you search "The Babys" you get rock band. There's a very interesting documentary out there about John Waite. I saw both of them over the years - the Babys and Waite as a solo artist. Both were really good live.

    The Babys were underrated. IMO.

  6. by Donna on February 10, 2025 10:28 am

And I agree wth you on Todd. I've always loved the chording on Hello. Nice touches in the production, too, especially the subtle but tasty orchestral arrangement. He really hit gold with that song. Truly inspired songwriting.

  7. by Donna on February 10, 2025 10:39 am

And Todd didn't use pitch correction software. His vocal imperfections, though, make Todd's love song more personal, organic and real. IMO.

“Paula White is a known heretic and known false teacher who has no regard for the Gospel of Jesus Christ.”

Perfect match for Trump. Trump has less of a regard for Jesus Christ than her or even any atheist I know.

    Donna,

Has anyone ever told you about our Wall of Separation between church and state?

You're now the enforcer of orthodoxy for the Swamp!!!! CHRISTIAN orthodoxy. As your dementia-ridden messiah would say, C'mon man. Gimme a break.

Absolutely. There was a local record store in my neighborhood as a kid - Sounds Good. I got to know the guy who worked there so he would give me the band posters and cheap deals on albums, etc... One night I asked him if he had anything new that I would like and he pulls out the Babys first album which had just come out. He said "these guys will probably never make it because of the stupid name - but it's really good." It was the store demo so it had writing on it and the "DEMO" stamp, so he sold it to me for $1. Loved them ever since. The first line-up was better than the Jonathon Cain version - but I liked everything they did. On the Head First tour - they had the women back-up singers, their own pastel colored light show like the albums and everything - even though they were the opening act. Great show.

Of course the Anrichrist would pick a Christian heretic to be his spiritual advisor!

  12. by Donna on February 10, 2025 1:15 pm

I'll have to revisit the Babys first album.

  13. by HatetheSwamp on February 10, 2025 1:16 pm

    Heretic based on what?

  14. by Donna on February 11, 2025 6:59 am

Heresy. Ask those other Christians I quoted for examples of her and Donald's heresy. Google it. Do you know how to do that?

Have you heard about the huge goat Donald and his cultusts constructed at maralago? It has $100 bills stuck all over it with the phrase "In Trump We Trust" instead of "In God We Trust".

Can you imagine the outrage from evangelicals if a Democratic president did something like that?

  15. by Ponderer on February 11, 2025 12:11 pm

Well, he figured that the golden calf idea was already taken.

  16. by HatetheSwamp on February 11, 2025 12:42 pm

"Heresy. Ask those other Christians I quoted for examples of her and Donald's heresy. Google it. Do you know how to do that?"

When else have you found those other Christians you quoted authoritative?

And, bubba! You do know that the Bill of Rights prohibits an establishment of religion by Big Brother AND BB prohibiting the free exercise of religion, eh?

T'other day, you became a xenophobe who opposes Elon Musk because he is a FOREIGNER! Now, you object to a Trump advisor because she's unorthodox as a Christian?

    C'mon. Gimme a break, man!

You have become what you despise, and fear.

  17. by Donna on February 11, 2025 3:53 pm

It has nothing to do with me. I would think that Christians like yourself would be pretty disgusted with that. I guess I judged you wrong.

  18. by HatetheSwamp on February 12, 2025 2:57 am

    Donna,

How many times do we do this dance!!!!!? I do not believe in the blending of church and state.

And, FYI, I monitor right-wing media regularly. No one on the right even noticed.

They're celebrating the EOs one after another. Bahahahahahahahahahaha haha ha!

  19. by meagain on February 12, 2025 7:49 am
You may not support the blending of Church and state, HtS. then why do you support Trump who is blending them? Some of his executive orders have done that. We know it is false observance on his part and that he is a totally amoral and irreligious person who is using religion for political gain.

    But, why support him?

  20. by HatetheSwamp on February 12, 2025 7:53 am

"...why do you support Trump who is blending them? Some of his executive orders have done that."

I do not support Trump. I do laugh at the woke Swampcult and its minions.

For my edification, cite the Executive Orders that blend church and state.

  21. by meagain on February 12, 2025 8:28 am
Whitehouse Faith Office is the one I noticed. I believe ther are one or two more.

  22. by HatetheSwamp on February 12, 2025 8:48 am

    What about it, meagain?

From Bush I, there has been a formal outreach office of faith. It may go back much further, because the names have changed in every administration. This is used to meet with a single contact source on what the faith-based folks need to contact the administration on. It's not mixing church and state, it's like the many offices of tied into Health and Human Services, Housing, and any one of the plethora of questions they may have. They're not like an "Agency" (as a "regulatory institution) they're much more of an information tool for the neighborhood faith-based groups.

  24. by HatetheSwamp on February 12, 2025 10:49 am

    Thanks, OD.

Theophobes incorrectly argues that the Bill of Rights guarantees freedom FROM religion. In truth, the Religion Clauses protect religion from Big Brother, not vice versa.

  25. by oldedude on February 12, 2025 10:52 am
Yeah, I almost put that in, but thought it was too basic... Maybe not. Needed to read the room better, I guess...

    Brown Shorts:
Theophobes incorrectly argues that the Bill of Rights guarantees freedom FROM religion.

You can't find one argument like that on this board. That is your MAGAt interpretation of what freedom of religion folks believe. Same as the ignorant "pro-abortion" tag. You guys can't debate honestly because you know you're on the wrong side of everything - so you make up this kind of crap up to make you and the rest of your Brown Shorts pals feel warm and fuzzy about your anti-American beliefs.

So, meagain, you lobbying to have me call it, Curt's, and meagain's, Holy Trinity? Not happnin.

Are you suggesting Trump is violating the Establishment Clause?

Thing is, the Biden DOJ and FBI practiced a lot of, especially, anti-Catholic oppression. You can't really blame Trump. But, really, how does this violate the First Amendment, IYO?

  29. by meagain on February 12, 2025 12:54 pm
Read it and work it out for yourself.

Neither one of us were jumping to anyone's defense. I was just presenting facts, which apparently you can't handle. Had you been paying as much attention as you think you have, you would know that he's been getting push-back from several of the Christian denominations. AND, as usual, he has Christian, several different sects of Jewish, a few sects of Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, etc. each with different issues within their areas and population. Each would like a funnel to the administration to voice their concerns. It may not be in Canada, but generally speaking, our Presidents appreciate and use feedback from the voting population.

  31. by Indy! on February 12, 2025 2:46 pm

True. Remember how concerned the Homeless Hairdo was during the debates when he claimed Haitians were eating the domesticated pets of Dearborn, Michigan? It really truly bothered him and you could hear the compassion in his whiny, unmanly voice as he repeated the lies Fox invented for idiots just like him.

We should be proud this man is attempting to run the country (and failing miserably... again).
