The White House confirms that a journalist was included in a text group in which US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and others planned military strikes in Yemen.

“We are reviewing how an inadvertent number was added to the chain,” National Security Council spokesman Brian Hughes said.

Pete Hegseth, Tulsi Gabbard and other incompetents all share responsibility in sending war plans inadvertently to a reporter. In this case, the reporter spoke up and went public that he accidentally received the war plans. How often does this and will this happen that somebody who shouldn't have access to military plans but without it being revealed?

Rep. Don Bacon (R-Neb.), another Armed Services Committee member and a former Air Force brigadier general, told Axios, "I've accidentally sent the wrong person a text. We all have."

But, he added, "The unconscionable action was sending this info over non-secure networks."

"None of this should have been sent on non-secure systems. Russia and China are surely monitoring his unclassified phone," Bacon said.

" ... reviewing how an inadvertent number was added to the chain"

I don't think "a number was accidentally added to the chain" is an honest representation of how this happened, but if it is, that would meant the Trump admin is sending classified information over regular SMS or iMessage?

Hillary Clinton just rolled her eyes so hard they fell out of her head.

To make this even more an amateur hour blunder, The Atlantic is a left-leaning publication critical of Trump.

This screw up is a good illustration of the nincompoops Trump selected for his cabinet. Fawning obsequiousness should not be the sole consideration when appointing administration staff which it apparently is for Trump.

The latest denials from Pete Hegseth and the latest revelations are ludicrous and hilarious.

Hegseth attacked the credibility of The Atlantic's Goldberg [but Hegseth] didn’t deny the existence of the chat, which could have violated a federal law that deals with the handling of sensitive information. The group discussing the top-secret strikes included Vice President JD Vance, national security adviser Mike Waltz, and CIA Director John Ratcliffe.

National Security Council spokesperson Brian Hughes appeared to contradict Hegseth’s comments on Monday night by confirming the existence of the group and offering no denials as to its content.

“At this time, the message thread that was reported appears to be authentic, and we are reviewing how an inadvertent number was added to the chain,” he said.

The chat, set up by Waltz in the days prior to this month’s bombing campaign against the Iran-backed group, laid out the Trump administration’s thinking on whether to bomb the Houthis, who have targeted commercial ships in the Red Sea.

I agree. someone (my guess State Dept) leaked the info. No one has come forth, so there's an investigation happening as of yesterday. The computer geeks are handling it now.

    😁 🤣
Fox News political commentator Brit Hume on Monday afternoon pushed back on Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s claim that “nobody was texting war plans” after news broke that Hegseth and other Trump administration officials discussed plans for an attack against Houthi rebels in Yemen on a text chain that mistakenly included the editor-in-chief for The Atlantic.

“Nobody was texting war plans, and that’s all I have to say about that,” Hegseth said outside a plane in Hawaii when asked about editor-in-chief of The Atlantic Jeffrey Goldberg’s access to the chat.

Hegseth also called Goldberg “a deceitful and highly discredited, so-called journalist who’s made a profession of peddling hoaxes time and time again.”

Hume reposted a video of Hegseth’s comments on the platform X, saying, “Oh for God’s sake, the administration has already confirmed the authenticity of the message.”

I think you're making a lot out of very little, and something the Administration is looking into. I mean, your little TDS nazi is just looking for anything you can find right now. Anything that's good about trumpster, you it's forbidden by your handlers to say anything about. And you're a good little german with the correct pogram for you.

I also find it "interesting" that you're still protecting and making excuses for pedojoe (Pence also had some that he immediately brought back and assisted the investigation. Still a violation) having classified documents left in an unsecured classified documents he wasn't allowed to have (he was a "senator" at the time and was not cleared to have classified documents out of the SCIF where he read them. Then cliton about her having her illegal "server" in her house and receiving thousands of classified emails on her unclassified phone. Had I even thought of that, it's a purposeful leaking of (at least) 4,000 classified documents and she lied her butt off about them. And then shiftless openly divulged classified information to the press, and NOW Susan Wild (D PA) leaked information on the Gaetz inquiry going on in the "ethics?"🤣 (an oxymoron) committee.

And now ya'll are going batshit crazy about an email the GOP automatically started an investigation on. I see that as your complete, little nazi, TDS, and two-faced self.

I think you need to clean your own backyard first. And yes, this is a whataboutism, because dims justifiability lost their clearances over overtly leaking classified documents. My hope is that someone here will also regardless of the station and party they're from.
