I'm linking to the nasty MSNBC article because it's a hoot.

The progressive Swampcult thought that lawfare was a fine thing when it was aimed at Trump. Oy! What's good for the goose, eh!!!!!? Baha.

As McDonald's says, "I'm lovin it." Keehee ha, ahhhhhhhhhhh!

It feels like the forces upholding the free press in the United States are beginning to buckle.

ABC's recent $15 million settlement with Donald Trump — stemming from the president-elect's lawsuit alleging anchor George Stephanopoulos defamed him — was a bad omen.

ABC, which Trump has said should have its broadcast privileges rescinded, opted to settle rather than fight the power. Per the settlement, ABC will pay $15 million to “a Presidential foundation and museum to be established by or for” Trump, which means the company will help fund what could be a shrine to Trump's ego.

...predictably, the settlement seems to have emboldened Trump to launch more legal attacks on the media over coverage he doesn't like. During a news conference on Monday, Trump threatened to “straighten out” the press using the courts and said more lawsuits would be forthcoming. And he announced his plans to sue veteran pollster Ann Selzer, who conducted a pre-election poll showing Vice President Kamala Harris leading in Iowa, a state Harris ultimately lost. He filed the lawsuit Monday night in Iowa, accusing Selzer, her polling firm, The Des Moines Register and the newspaper’s parent company, Gannett, of “election interference.”

You know ole pb. He's a Bill of Rights guy. FIRST AMENDMENT, BABY!

But, gosh. After four years of "that feckless dementia-ridden piece of crap's" corrupt and politicized DOJ making a mockery of jurisprudence, what Trump is doing not only seems right. It seems necessary.

And, where'd Trump file? Iowa? Where he beat the Dingbat by 14 points?...

...like that slut DA in Fulton County inventing that RICO fiction against Trump?

These are going to be four freakin fun years!!!!!

HA!

    You are not an American.

  2. by Curt_Anderson on December 18, 2024 10:54 am
    Indy,
That is an astute observation. Nothing that HtS has posted couldn’t have come straight from internet trolls in mother Russia. His disdain for the US Constitution, unfamiliarity with the American justice system, distrust of the free press, his admiration for autocratic politicians, etc.

  3. by HatetheSwamp on December 18, 2024 11:12 am

Yeah, Curt. I agree. In fact, I've been calling the Lawfare waged by "that feckless dementia-ridden piece of crap's" evil and corrupt DOJ, Stalinesque. I couldn't agree with you more. It's exactly that.

When the Jack Smith farces were under way, and those ridiculous injustices in Manhattan and the Fani Willis lunacy,... did you really expect that OrangeTurdBad would not respond in kind if he won in 024? C'mon. Gimme a break, man!

No, bubba. The smoke-filled room and the string-pullers of that Doddering Old Fool started this. And, Trump started out as, perhaps, the most litigious person in American history. Whadya expect?

You were orgasmic over lawfare fought against Trump. Fine. If that was legitimate, this is, too.

My guess, though, is that Trump may prove to be better at this Stalin stuff than the "dithering and diminished" boob's crowd.

    But, y'nes invited this.

  4. by Indy! on December 18, 2024 1:27 pm

Exactly, Curt. His "support" for the Constitution is exactly like his support for Kamala - non-existent. He's just another MAGAt Brown Shorts looking to serve his orange skidmark master.

  5. by Indy! on December 18, 2024 1:36 pm

Now that I read the feckless dementia-ridden Brown Short's post - it's obvious he doesn't even understand the difference between prosecuting Trump for crimes and trying to hold the media accountable for reporting the news. Might be a lack of education rearing it's ugly head again.

What ole pb understands is that lawfare is lawfare.

What YOU don't seem to understand is that Trump merely filed a civil suit against Ann Selzer.

Just wait until Trump’s FBI Director and Attorney General are in place. Joe's string-pullers had the FBI checking out Melania's undies drawer? Imagine. Multiple that times ten, eh!

The Dems picked the field the game will be played on. My guess? Trump will play dirtier... and better.

  7. by meagain on December 18, 2024 2:29 pm

Trump can't act dirtier. He lives in a swamp and crawls through a cloacal filth to greet the world before crawling back each night.

After the failed Beer Hall Putsch, for his part Adolf Hitler was arrested and sentenced to five years in Landsberg Prison for treason. His supporters probably denounced whatever the German word is for "lawfare". Like HtS and other Trump supporters, Nazis could not abide the fact that their leader could be held responsible for his actions like other defendants in criminal trials or respondents in civil cases.

Responsible for, for example, a sexual assault when the accuser can't even remember the EFFINyear it happened.

The Dems abused the legal system in an attempt to lose Trump the election. You, Curt, STILL support that effort. I didn't.

I have a feeling, though, that both of us will oppose Trump's lawfare.

The difference between us? I have a heart.

    HtS,
    E. Jean Carroll stated that the Pussy Grabber sexually assaulted her in late 1995 or early 1996, in the Bergdorf Goodman department store in New York City.

Two dozen beauty pageant (Miss Teen USA, etc.) contestants remember when Jeffrey Epstein's pal, Donald Trump, inappropriately walked in on them in changing rooms. Trump himself bragged about it on Howard Stern's show.

Many other women remember where and when Trump was sexually inappropriate with them and worse.

The 13-yr-old who was threatened with physical harm if she didn't retract her case... The orange feckless dementia-ridden piece of crap is most likely guilty of all kinds of other sick crimes that haven't been reported due to people's lives being threatened.

"the Pussy Grabber sexually assaulted her in late 1995 or early 1996..."

    Exactly!

Funny the MAGAt still pretends to be a "Christian" on the board here. 😂

    huh

  15. by Donna on December 20, 2024 2:45 pm

Trump's out of his mind if he thinks he's going to successfully sue Ann Seltzer for doing what all polsters do.

  16. by HatetheSwamp on December 20, 2024 3:24 pm

    Donna,

I'm not sure he's thinking that. But, I'm curious to see how far this goes in the state in which she underestimated the Trump vote by more than 16%.
