In SS terms, he's saying, "Pondy, Donna. This party ain't big enough for all of us. You can have it!"

He understands that the Dem Party is not the party of openness and inclusion, acceptance, diversity, tolerance, freedom and love.

Here's the thing. There are purple states where there's a large enough Jewish population that the Alan Dershowitz crowd could swing the result. Pennsylvania is one of them.

Good for you, Dersh!

    Good riddance.

  2. by Indy! on September 6, 2024 2:04 pm

Are you telling me there were some people on this planet SO STUPID they didn't know Douchowitz was a wingnut this whole time? I mean - besides the two we know on this board?

  3. by ROB3RT on September 6, 2024 5:22 pm

Alan Dershowitz is an irrelevant troll, just like Tulsi Gabbard and the two wingnuts in this forum.

  4. by HatetheSwamp on September 7, 2024 4:41 am

I'll happily accept the comparison to Dershowitz. In the 70s ole pb was exactly the sort of lib Dem that Dershowitz was. pb's every bit as disgusted that, in the 020s, to be progressive means, above all else, to hate.

Rob3rt, pb's sorry that you choose hate.

Dershowitz may be "irrelevant," but I truly believe that he's representative of tens of thousands of American Jews. He was a lockstep vote for the Dems. But, not n'more. Those Jews may return OrangeTurdBad to the Oval Office.

  5. by oldedude on September 7, 2024 5:57 am
I agree. There's enough Nazis in the dim party right now that are ready to pile Jews into the cattle cars on a one-way trip, that it's actually affecting how the US views the dims. This isn't just a jab like the burnie bros. This is a full-fledged attack on a religion. And it's not "only" Israelis. It's "Jews" per se.

The retired Harvard Law School professor, who is a longtime self-described liberal Democrat, told radio host Zev Brenner on Aug. 23 that he felt the Chicago gathering was “the worst convention in American history” because of the number of speakers who have publicly expressed opposition to Israel.

This is growing just like the 1933-1938.
RCMP and FBI reported Muhammad Shahzeb Khan, 20, was arrested in the small town about 20 kilometres north of the U.S. border for planning a deadly attack on behalf of ISIS targeting a Jewish centre in New York City (where's meagain again?)

In a statement, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said Khan, also known as Shahzeb Jadoon, was the subject of a complaint filed in the Southern District of New York charging him with “attempting to provide material support and resources to a designated foreign terrorist organization, the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham (ISIS).”

Khan lived in Canada, the statement said and was attempting to travel to New York “where he intended to use automatic and semi-automatic weapons to carry out a mass shooting in support of ISIS at a Jewish centre in Brooklyn.”

Wray is also warning that for such a small part (2.4%) of the population, is accounting for being the victims of ~60% of all religious based hate crimes. If this were a part of one of the dims favorite groups, we'd never hear the end of it. But as it is, dims are proud to be antisemitic. Of course, being the racist terrorist-loving folks they are, it's not surprising. The halls of some of the most prestigious universities are turning a blind eye, and can't answer if this is "wrong" or not. If beating "Jews" is acceptable or not when asked.
The FBI director said that was in part because “the Jewish community is targeted by terrorists really across the spectrum” including homegrown violent extremists, foreign terrorist organizations, and domestic violent extremists.

“In fact, our statistics would indicate that for a group that represents only about 2.4% of the American public, they account for something like 60% of all religious-based hate crimes,” Wray said of the Jewish American population.

And of course, how soon will 1938 happen again, but not just in the "Vaterland"... Maybe right after the election! yeah, that's the ticket!
Kristallnacht was a pogrom against Jews carried out by the Nazi Party's Sturmabteilung (SA) and Schutzstaffel (SS) paramilitary forces along with some participation from the Hitler Youth and German civilians throughout Nazi Germany on 9–10 November 1938. The German authorities looked on without intervening. The euphemistic name Kristallnacht comes from the shards of broken glass that littered the streets after the windows of Jewish-owned stores, buildings, and synagogues were smashed.

Again, no one actually looks at the "why." I chose to.

  7. by Ponderer on September 7, 2024 9:20 am

    Why...? Simple:

Because delusion, delirium and dementia are not mental conditions limited only to conservative, MAGA Hat Republicans. Other people can end up in this situation given an advanced age and declining mental faculties. But granted, the Republican party has always attracted the vast bulk of the delusional among us.

People who are deluded and demented are naturally attracted to the Republican Party. Anyone willing to swallow their flaming horseshit and abandon objective reality is welcomed, as Hate is so happy to point out all the time.

They are the party of delusion, delirium, and dementia. It's a natural process, the way the ranks of the party assemble themselves. And to such a degree in modern times in fact that the party is now known as the Trump Party or the MAGA Party, because so many delusional people have flocked to it. Actual Republicans are nearly nonexistent now and are shunned by the delirious and delusional "Republicans" who now control the party.

So someone as old as Dershowitz is certainly capable of losing their mental faculties and shunning reality for conspiracy theories and magical thinking. Any person who is losing their mental capacities can naturally glom towards MAGA Party thinking and delusional conclusions. Even someone who has done great work for the country in the past.

It's really sad to witness his decent into madness after all the good he's done in the past. But the "Republicans" certainly love him for it. Whether he becomes an official member of the party or not.

  8. by Ponderer on September 7, 2024 9:31 am

Or he just loves their money.

  9. by oldedude on September 7, 2024 10:15 am
So if one of the parties would have a plank in their platform to openly call for the complete elimination of the LGBTQ+ community, would you be a member of that party? Palestine is calling for the genocide of the Jewish people, which you continually ignore. And I guess that if ignorance is bliss, you're the happiest person on earth!

  10. by Indy! on September 7, 2024 11:24 am

Palestinians call for the elimination of the Jewish people while the Jewish people are actually eliminating the Palestinian people.

Hmmm.... wonder which one is worse? 🤔

  11. by oldedude on September 7, 2024 11:37 am
Again. The 1200 Israelis that were murdered you don't care about. And if you knew anything about the groups you love😘. You'd know the elimination of first the Jewish state, and then moving to the rest of the world in the genocide of all Jews. As usual, you're several basic steps behind.

  12. by Ponderer on September 7, 2024 11:45 am

olde dude, your flawless logic has convinced me...

I will therefore NEVER become a member of any Palestinian Party!

  13. by oldedude on September 7, 2024 12:33 pm
And the dims are taking on the same platforms with the Jews. So can you blame him? Again, I know this is not going to happen, but I'm thinking a little empathy might be in order.

  14. by Ponderer on September 7, 2024 1:42 pm

"And the dims are taking on the same platforms with the Jews." -olde dude

No, they are not. Absolutely not. That's flaming bullshit. You are literally spewing bullshit.

I knew you couldn't, even for a second, be humane. You're not capable of that.

  16. by oldedude on September 7, 2024 3:46 pm
And if I am so wrong, prove it. Prove the progressives haven't supported and condoned the anti-sematic protests.

And in the "protests," there are ties directly to Hamas and "from the river to the sea"

  17. by Indy! on September 7, 2024 4:06 pm

When you can't tell the truth it means you're losing the argument. You're the pro-war board member and I'm the no war board member. You couldn't answer my first question - how about this much easier one... Which of us actually has more empathy humans and their suffering?

  18. by oldedude on September 7, 2024 4:47 pm
I'm the no war board member.
No, you're a coward that blames others for his own insecurity. Everyone else is "stupid" because you feel inferior to everyone else. Therefore, you have to insult everyone to make yourself feel better.

You couldn't answer my first question
Perhaps because I didn't care enough about what you have to say, I didn't read it.

Which of us actually has more empathy humans and their suffering?
Empathy? You don't know the meaning of the word. You've never condemned the murder of 1200 innocent civilians and blamed in on a government. The beheading of children in front of their parents. Burning families to death, raping women until they were no longer useful to your "buddies" and then shot. A group that was told by their "government" to commit those atrocities. And they did it. Including raping corpses. So you commit to a tagline that says the genocide of Jews is a proper thing to do.

You also talk about American "dead" in numbers, but then mock the military you're talking about. Empathy? You mock the families of the dead. Even the Palestinians you talk about loving so much are just numbers to make you justified that for once, you're right about something. I can bring up what that means, and there are things the must be done in considering all civilian human life. For you, it's all cut and dry. Black and white. Only numbers in a magazine. For me, they're actual human beings you're talking about. You don't know that concept.

So I'm not buying anything that would even hint you have your so called "empathy."

  19. by Ponderer on September 7, 2024 5:42 pm

"Empathy? You don't know the meaning of the word. You've never condemned the murder of 1200 innocent civilians [...]" -olde dude

Indy!, I am sure that you have in the past. As Donna and I both did very early on.

Conversely, neither olde dude nor Hate even brought up any dead Palestinians that the Israeli government was slaughtering from early October on by the thousands until Donna and I started talking about them.

Which pissed them off. Because they were hoping that no one would equate them with Israeli human beings in having the right to also not be slaughtered. They bristled that we had the antisemitic audacity to dare speak up for the slaughtered innocent Palestinians.

  20. by Indy! on September 7, 2024 5:42 pm

Says the guy actually committing atrocities.

  21. by Indy! on September 7, 2024 5:44 pm

    True, Pondy.

  22. by Ponderer on September 7, 2024 5:45 pm

They only recognized the humanity and tragedy of the Israeli victims. The innocent Palestinian victims of Netanyahu can all go pound sand.

Which at this point is literally about all they are allowed to do.

  23. by oldedude on September 7, 2024 5:48 pm
Indy!, I am sure that you have in the past. As Donna and I both did very early on.
He has never, contrary to you and your wife.

Conversely, neither olde dude nor Hate even brought up any dead Palestinians that the Israeli government was slaughtering from early October on by the thousands until Donna and I started talking about them.
You didn't read one fucking word of the conversation meagain and I had. You may want to unfuck yourself and read that.

Says the guy actually committing atrocities.
Nope. Never have. But you're the guy that thinks Gomer Pyle is a documentary. Nice try princess.

  24. by oldedude on September 7, 2024 6:01 pm
They only recognized the humanity and tragedy of the Israeli victims. The innocent Palestinian victims of Netanyahu can all go pound sand.

Which at this point is literally about all they are allowed to do.

And you've only said anything about the murdering of infants when shamed into it. I was trying to leave that out of the conversation to play well, but that just got shot out the window by a paranoid, psychotic bitch as usual.

Actually, when YOU, YOUR WIFE, AND I were discussing (at nauseum) ROE and how units move through built up areas, I said several times that I believed in being extremely careful about innocent human lives. I also added in that, the problems with that (e.g. 12-year-old children shooting AK's, etc.) to wit you answered that my question about that. And you were still pissed that you actually had to answer a question, because you evaded so long. So you do know that I am probably the MOST CAREFUL about human life because I fucking know what it looks like. You don't have a fucking clue. Again. It's "only" numbers to you. It doesn't make a flying fuck "what" the numbers are, they're just numbers. Not real human beings. You can't buy a clue to know what it looks like, or smells like in the desert heat. You just pretend to care about this because it strokes your precious little ego to say it (but not mean it).

  25. by Ponderer on September 7, 2024 6:12 pm

olde dude, your personal, heartfelt concern for invading forces trying as hard as possible not to harm innocent people... in no way rectifies, justifies, or excuses the various and sundry heinous atrocities that Netanyahu has perpetrated upon the Palestinian people of Gaza en masse on at least a weekly basis since October.

  26. by Indy! on September 7, 2024 7:42 pm

The name calling is always a sure sign he's lying and/or losing the argument.

  27. by oldedude on September 7, 2024 9:29 pm
po- Again, you're using the same defense you charge me using. I mention one, and you mention the other. It's the same "defense" meagain and indy have also. Since my "heartfelt" and honest view that civilians shouldn't be murdered, and doesn't count as a thought. Thank for completely dismissing me as a human being. I'll do the same for you. Oh. and fuck you. It's much more that what any of you have done so far in your "feelings" on the subject.

Like you accuse me of (which is a bald face LIE) that I don't care about the civilians. Again, you don't have a fucking concept of what that means. You (all) remind me of the teacher in South Park. "Drugs are bad, mmmmk..." You have no idea how to articulate an argument about it, because none of you know enough about the subject.

So quite honestly, Until you (all) also accept that 10/7 happened and keep those 1,200 as "civilian dead" at 100%, you're not worth talking to. You'll keep going back to your default. Which is an uneducated guess at best. It's not worth my time to speak about this. You're doing nothing but supporting your buddies in Hamas, and their murder of infants, children, and women in ways that would be taken to the Haag if they could be considered an "army" (which is their defense). But you wipe that clean, and ONLY talk about what bibi's done (which is also a lie because he hasn't been in power for that total time, but you don't care about that).

So I can stick to my guns also, and not care about civilians in Gaza, etc. (Which I don't do, but until you yield an inch, I won't budge) It's the same thing you are doing. And I don't feel too bad about it.

The truth of Hamas is in its charter,
which our senior columnist Rob Eshman spent yesterday reading. “Founding documents are aspirational,” Rob notes: They outline a country or party’s ideal version of itself.

For Hamas, whose charter was written in 1988 and revised in 2017, that ideal is defined by antisemitism.

It blames Jews for both world wars as well as the French and Russian revolutions; claims Jews control the global media; and explicitly demands their deaths

I just thought you should know what you "believe in" by your actions, regardless of what you say. They're two different things.

My point is that it's simply not a thought that Netanyahu has ever had towards Gazan Palestinians and has nothing to do with what he is doing to them. Absurdly and mendaciously express our thoughts, though he may.

The man is a heartless, bloodthirsty monster. Just as the leaders of Hamas are. Only they don't have the backing and material support of the greatest armed superpower in the history of the world to commit the sheer voluminous scale of heinous atrocities that Netanyahu does.

And we're all certainly very glad that they don't.

It's just that many of us wish that Netanyahu didn't either...

Amount of Israeli bombs dropped on Gaza surpasses that of World War II

Israel dropped 70,000 tons of bombs on Gaza Strip since last October, exceeding World War II bombings in Dresden, Hamburg, London combined, according to rights monitor

Israel has dropped more than 70,000 tons of bombs on the Gaza Strip since last October, far surpassing the of Dresden, Hamburg, and London combined during World War II.

In late April, Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor estimated that approximately 70,000 tons of bombs were dropped on Gaza, covering the six-month period between Oct. 7 and April 24.

"It is estimated that Israel has dropped more than 70,000 tons of explosives on the Gaza Strip in addition to its bulldozing operations, resulting in the destruction of all buildings at a distance of up to one kilometer in the east and north of the Strip in order to create a so-called buffer zone," according to the Geneva-based human rights monitor organization.

The Germans bombed London, dropping around 18,300 tons of bombs between 1940 and 1941, according to various estimates, including archives from the New York Times.

The Allies dropped 8,500 tons of bombs on Hamburg in the summer of 1943, said Hendrik Althoff, a research fellow at the Department of History at the University of Hamburg.

The Allies also used 3,900 tons of bombs on Dresden in February 1945, according to historical records.

Israel has continued its brutal offensive on Gaza following the Oct. 7 Hamas incursion, despite a UN Security Council resolution demanding an immediate cease-fire.

More than 36,500 Palestinians have since been killed in Gaza, mostly women and children, and nearly 83,000 others injured, according to local health authorities.

Nearly eight months into the Israeli war, vast swathes of Gaza lay in ruins amid a crippling blockade of food, clean water, and medicine.

Israel stands accused of genocide at the International Court of Justice, which in its latest ruling has ordered Tel Aviv to immediately halt its operation in Rafah, where over a million Palestinians had sought refuge from the war before it was invaded on May 6.

Another inconvenient truth that Hts can't handle, so he denies it altogether.

Netanyahu has already created thousands of future terrorists. He's been doing a better job of recruiting terrorists than Hamas.

If I were a Gazan youth, I would devote my life to destroying Israel.

Pretty sanctimonious, don't you think? You're "allowing" me to have a thought? Really?

po- Like I said, I'll take (only to agree with you) there are 45K dead. Like I said earlier, Hamas are experts at double/triple counting, etc. And it doesn't count how many they murdered of their own people for some "infraction" or another. Or as human shields. I will count all those as civilian dead. How's that?

I saw 90K so Lead's numbers are fairly close to mine depending on the day and who's doing the counting.

I do have a quick question for both of you. What's the timeframe of the dead? Is this after 10/7? from 1984? from the crusades? From the 12 tribes? Just wondering.

This war really goes back to the Crusades, so there's that. Islam wasn't invented until 300 years after Christ. And a huge reason the heart of the Islamic culture (Mecca and Medina) is Saudi Arabia, NOT Israel. The Al-Aqsa mosque was built 691–692 CE, after the Muslims took Jerusalem. And on top of the Second Jewish Temple (built in c. 516 BCE to replace the destroyed Solomon's Temple and rebuilt by Herod the Great), which was destroyed by the Romans in 70 CE. Sorry to get into history, but the media will lead you to believe the Muslims were there first, which isn't the case. They weren't even there before the Christians.

Using the OD standard - that means PB is fine with Palestinians being murdered for nothing.

  39. by oldedude on September 8, 2024 1:40 pm
Lead- That's why I was wondering. They're about as accurate as "indy" with "facts." And that shifts things from the 90K down to 40K. Whenever I hear the numbers, I just figure the numbers and indy's facts are just beer math. 5 people X 4 beers= 1- 32gal keg, 3 cases of beer and a case of bourbon.

SCOPE NOTE: I really can't say anything new in this. There are some timeline differences I've seen. I've just gotten tired of repeating myself over and over. Yes, there are civilian deaths. Is it more than a 1:1 ration everyone wants? yes. Will it ever equal? No, because of the asynchronous nature of the war and the fact the local government has nothing in their covenant about taking care of the citizens of the country, only about the elimination of Israel and the Jewish people. My view is Israelis care more about the people of Gaza than their own government. And it's obvious the government wants to start a genocide against Israel, then globally so the rest of the Jews in the world are killed.

Like I've said before, the first 45 days (it took about 10-15 days to get the IDF together), and then to retake Gaza cities and the tunnels. You can expect a higher numbers of civilian deaths. So my bet is that if you look, there was a lull for that 10-15 days, then a spike and a slower decrease (taking a month or more).

And with that, the ferocious fighting on both sides are part of that. Civilians are protecting themselves from what they've been told what the IDF will do.
The IDF is pissed off at what happened by Hamas and are also scared that Hamas are using all the tricks they've been told.
I'm not saying that's acceptable, I'm saying that's just a fact in the fighting. I will say this again. I am shocked we didn't find piles of assassinated Palestinians in the streets that had been shot against the walls ala Gestapo style.
Scared is one thing. Wanton murder is another. They did have spots of some open killing, which the Israelis immediately halted and brought them back for military trial.

Bombing. What I've mainly been tracking are the drone strikes from the IDF, and the Drones, Missiles, and Rockets from Hamas and the north. The terrorists have been using many more rockets. That makes sense because of the cost, and the fact it's what Iran gives them to clear their depots. The problem is there is no capability to adjust where the missiles go after they're launched. Ergo, the soccer field where the kids were killed in Israel.
2,000lb bombs. Yes, there's a reason for them. And the Israelis need to use them with everyone clear in the towns where they're going to drop them. I don't think that will happen. They're being used for the tunnels. Hamas has said they're 100% "military." I doubt that, but they said it so it's on them. These are another decision Israel made to make the tunnels into rubble. The only option I can see is to start at "one end" (if you can get to it), and with a lot of people, drive the rats out. Will it be successful? No. Will it cost a lot of human lives? yes. Is the IDF willing to send their troops on suicide missions? no. They have a larger war to fight soon. They need every IDF member possible. And they know it.

po. Yes, this is asynchronous warfare. One side has a technological and logistical advantage (Israel). The flip side is the other side has the ability to quickly shift and plan small scale operations that take a lot of manpower from the enemy. Nothing is "unfair" about this. Ask the Afghans.

Well thanks, od. That at least explains why the Palestinian people of Gaza are to be considered entirely expendable by the forces of Israel. And why we are supposed to keep giving Israel huge bombs andshit to kill them with.
