A shooting took place on the grounds of the Trump International Golf Course West Palm Beach on Sunday while former President Donald J. Trump was at the course, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said, but officials said that Mr. Trump was safe and that the intent was unknown.

“President Trump is safe following gunshots in his vicinity,” Steven Cheung, the Trump campaign’s communications director, said in a statement. “No further details at this time.”

    The first seemed kind of strange that the shooter got so close, so out in the open and so easily. But I thought it was a real attempt on his life. But I also have to point out the ear... That bandage was off the ear within a day or so and there was nothing on the ear - no scab, or missing piece where a bullet might have hit... very odd. Also very odd is if he healed that fast - he is some kind of alien or something because all us old folks know it takes longer to heal the older you get. I can't see the ear healing that fast.

    I said "probably". Since they caught the shooter, I admit that my suspicions were wrong. In all the time you and I have been posting here, I can't remember even one time where you said "I was wrong".

    So what we know at this point is that everyone that said its bullshit is wrong (as usual). 300- 500 yds (~275- ~450 metres) demands "some" adjustment in an AK 47. The AK 74, not as much, but some minor alterations you can fix either with a scope. As a semi-skilled AK shooter, I can adjust with an iron sight, but not to the point I'm sniping. The interesting thing is both in PA and FL shootings are done with an AK. The option is they're using an SVD sniper rifle, with a 7.62x54 round. That would do nicely up to 800 metres. The SVD original sniper rifle isn't found often in the US. That's a specialty in Soviet/Chinese/Iranian/ DPRK circles.

    So. I would use a different round. And scope. That said...

    Secret Service has the asshole. Great. Make your case in a court. Asshole #1 was found with offshore accounts with "international" links. Then all of a sudden, that link was shut off. So what we can glean off of that is that there is something they don't want to tell us going on.

    All of a sudden we're dealing with "the swamp" no one here can figure out...
    My bet is that we'll see him dead before trial. It's a much safer bet than using an AK 47 as a sniper rifle. Unless his name and bio are concocted (very possible).

    Trump apparent assassination suspect identified

    The man accused of pointing an AK-style rifle through the fence at Trump International Golf Club, where former President Trump was playing, has been identified as Ryan Wesley Routh, multiple media outlets reported.

    Routh is reportedly the individual who was spotted by Secret Service agents with a rifle along the golf perimeter in West Palm Beach, Fla. on Sunday.

    He is a white male, 58, News Nation reported, citing a law enforcement source. He was convicted in 2002 of possessing a weapon of mass destruction, the outlet added, citing online North Carolina Department of Adult Correction records.

    Palm Beach County State Attorney Dave Aronberg told News Nation Routh was not previously on law enforcement’s radar.

    Secret Service agents were posted a few holes in front of Trump on the course on Sunday afternoon when they noticed a man pushing a rifle’s muzzle through the course perimeter, authorities said during a Sunday press briefing. The rifle was sticking through the bushes, between 300 and 500 yards away, police said.
