They reportedly informed Biden that they represented the views of their entire caucuses.

If that's true -- and I believe it is -- I can't imagine even Biden being stubborn enough to stay in.

Cenk Uygur is saying "100%", Biden is calling it quits.

If he's right, and I'm thinking he probably is, then I've never been so happy to be wrong.

If it happens, who do you want? Or who do you think can beat Trump given the short amount of campaign time? It would be funny if Bernie somehow got his hat in the ring.

I'm hoping pedojoe doesn't listen. Then he can get beat and die as a loser in the history books. I'd love to be at his bedside rubbing it in.

  3. by HatetheSwamp on July 18, 2024 2:02 am

If so, it'll be a hoot to see what the smoke-filled room has planned.

The bosses led the party faithful through a game of charades which they called Primary Elections, in which the people they'll want to vote dutifully in November followed in line like sheep to select that "dithering and diminished" Doddering Old Fool. Will the minions follow in line again... in the same election cycle?

And, moderate and independent common sense voters? Oy!

This is why, while pb is HatetheSwamp, he's still content to be a Republican. Even though he dislikes the candidate, the candidate is the legitimate choice of the party faithful.

    As Joe'd say, "...anyway..."

    This'll be fun.

  4. by Donna on July 18, 2024 7:06 am

You guys should be glad since you don't like Trump or Biden. Btw, who are you going to vote for?

  5. by HatetheSwamp on July 18, 2024 7:36 am

    Donna,

I'll actually wait until I know whom the Dems nominate. It's unlikely that it be a Big Brother disciple, still, who knows.

I have no idea who I'll vote for. At the moment, I'm leaning toward Chase Oliver. He's a very articulate Libertarian. But, who knows. In 016, I changed my mind on the Sunday before election day.

    Who will you vote for?

  6. by Donna on July 18, 2024 7:56 am

So you're probably going to vote for someone who has no chance of winning. Smart decision.

I'm going to vote for whoever gets the nomination. I'm pulling for Gretchen Whitmer, although I don't even know if she wants to be president.

  7. by Donna on July 18, 2024 8:14 am

Btw, there's no guarantee that Biden will drop out, even with two-thirds of Democrats and both Congressional leaders calling on him to do so. Great-grandpa's stubbornness and sense of entitlement might be too much to overcome.

  8. by HatetheSwamp on July 18, 2024 8:41 am

    Donna,

Let me start off with two words. I support Biden. I support Biden.

Imo, it would be a travesty for the Doddering Old Fool to step aside. The Dem National Committee carefully crafted their nominating process through their Primary Elections. They decertified several primaries to achieve their goal: The nomination of the Former Truck Driver. 14,000,000 democrats faithfully cast ballots for Joe Biden.

"Of the people, by the people and for the people," baby!

It's said that we should be careful what we wish for. The Dems wished. They got. This is America.

You just repeat yourself over and over. Same scripted lines, same cliches, etc.

  10. by HatetheSwamp on July 18, 2024 9:17 am

    Donna,

    Cliches?

That's what you think of our electoral process. Honestly!!!!!?

The "Let me start off with two words..." paraphrase of the Biden brainfart, which took place in 022, looooooooong before the smoke-filled room rigged the primaries for Biden, is offered in jest.

The "clichés" are from my heart! I believe in the EFFINrepublic.

The Dems attempted to put a man they knew was brainless for four more year, "pause."

I'm absolutely serious that it'd be a travesty for the "dithering and diminished" Doddering Old Fool to step aside. It would damage the Republic.

I might actually vote for Gretchen Whitmer if she's the nominee. Out of the "possible choices" I saw a few days ago, she's the only one I thought had any chance in hell of beating Trump. I think she could actually bring a few Rs over too. Then - of course - the women. It's long past time for America to have a woman president and - unlike Hillary - she actually has the gravitas and political acumen to win. Trump would be in big trouble facing her in a debate.

  12. by Donna on July 18, 2024 1:10 pm

She's my fave for all of those reasons, Indy. But for all anyone knows, she may not be interested in bevoming president.

  13. by Donna on July 18, 2024 1:53 pm

Check out the bar graph at the 8:20 mark in the video below. It compares how well Harris and Whitmer would do in all of the battleground states. God I hope Whitmer's the nominee.

I think Whitmer would be a strong opponent. However, I'm sure that Curt's Holy Trinity and po's metaphorical Rachel haven't filled you in on her handling of Covid. The right-wing media has been all over it.

She was a world-class hypocrite... rules for thee but not for me. And, she was a Big Brother Covid Nazi.

She's a good candidate, but she has baggage.

  15. by Indy! on July 18, 2024 2:45 pm

    PB -
Non-issue. Everybody in power was operating under those rules. Besides that, covid is so 2021 - nobody cares.

    Donna -
Very interesting chart. This is what I suspected of Whitmer as a candidate. She's a woman (+), a governor (+), young (+), has all her marbles (+), she's a blank slate for most people (no black clouds hanging over her) and most importantly - NOT Trump (+). First thing new people will learn about her is Trumpers tried to kidnap and kill her and she emerged unscathed. That outweighs a bullet nick on fat boy's ear.

If Biden does step aside (I'll believe it when I see it) - Kamala becomes the new problem for Ds. How to get HER to step aside too. Does Whitmer even want it? I think the Ds would try the same angle on her - they need someone who can at least save Congress if not the WH. Do it for the party. It would be interesting to see if she could run, lose and still keep the governor's mansion. If so - it makes it a much easier decision for her.

Noop. Not at all. By a looooooooong shot.

  17. by Indy! on July 18, 2024 3:12 pm

You're in the GOP bubble. I'm sure it's a big thing there - outside of Fox? Nobody cares. And btw, Trump also played by those rules which negates whatever advantage you thought he was going to gain.

BTW - I left something out about Whitmer. The reason I would consider voting for her is she's not a DC insider. She might actually bring some fresh, new ideas to a party DESPERATELY in need of them. It also helps that she's a woman. I took a lot of "misogynous" grief from some people in 2016 - saying I didn't want to vote for a woman. No, I didn't want to vote for Hillary. Even if she had a penis she would not have got my vote, and I had already voted for women many times before 2016.

  18. by Indy! on July 18, 2024 3:14 pm

Just thought of something... Trump is basically Hillary with a penis. 😂

  19. by HatetheSwamp on July 18, 2024 3:46 pm

    You're sayin Hillary doesn't have a penis!!!!!? I'm pretty sure you're wrong.

  20. by Indy! on July 18, 2024 3:54 pm

I assigning the job of finding out to you, peebs. You're a D insider - they know they have your vote, so they'll be far more open to helping your investigation (cuz everyone else is bailing out on them). Just make sure you start with your "two words" when you get there.

  21. by HatetheSwamp on July 18, 2024 6:57 pm

Thanks for the job offer, Indy. But, I'm busy that day.

  22. by Indy! on July 18, 2024 7:22 pm

You can go without Fox for one day.
