I'm not going to sugar coat anything he did. It sounds like they've got him pretty dead to rights. I'm not going to declare that the charges are all imaginary and intended just to make Hunter and his dad look bad. From what I have seen of the evidence, it' seems very likely that Hunter is guilty of crimes and would actually deserve some prison time.

And if that happens, here's why I see it as a good thing...

Biden won't pardon him.

• Biden won't be complaining about any fake prosecutions.

• Biden won't be attacking any judges or courtroom staff for being tools of his adversaries.

• Biden won't sic any of his deranged flying monkeys on any innocent people.

• Biden will dutifully accept the verdict of the court.

Right there, it will be plain for all to see the difference between a president who respects the law and one who doesn't. People will have a blatant example of what dedication to duty looks like from a president and how things are supposed to be and how our laws are supposed to work.

That is really going to mean a lot to people come election time.

Everyone knows that it's a foregone conclusion that if any of Trump's kids had gotten jail time on a federal rap while he was president, or if he is again, he wouldn't allow them to spend an hour in prison. He'd be pardoning them mid-way through his Big Mac. Regardless of whatever crime it was they were found guilty of. It wouldn't matter to him in the least. No child of his is going to spend any time in prison if there's anything he could do about it!

I mean, it's not much of a stretch to imagine. Since he's already declared that if reelected, he would pardon huge swaths of convicted violent criminals who aren't his kids, but who merely committed their violent crimes in the act of trying to help him hold onto power. Plus he already has a track record of pardoning convicted criminals whose crimes were only committed for his direct benefit. Someone like that is never going to let a child of theirs serve prison time if he has the power to free them.

So I feel for the Biden family. It's got to be a hard time for them. Hunter has led a very troubled life and has made many bad decisions in it. And there's nothing they can do about what he may be facing. After all, the law is the law.

That is... unless Trump gets reelected.

I don't even want to imagine what it must be like for someone like you to have elevated him to such a place of near divinity that you can't even accept the very idea that he ever did anything wrong.

  4. by Ponderer on December 9, 2023 7:57 am

If Trump does somehow manage to get himself reelected, I look forward to the flailing and ridiculously positive spin you and od will put on the horrific authoritarian hell he will unleash on this country and its people. I can't wait to hear you clowns try to explain why his dictatorial tyranny is a good thing.

I mean it's not like you will ever stop defending him.

Again. My rules are the same for trumpster as they are for pedojr. This has just started. Wake me when it's over and the jury had it's say. And the judge says, "this case is adjourned."😴

Right - forgot about her. He'd probably let Eric spend a little time in jail before pardoning him too.

Pondy, I appreciate the thread. A main issue though is this just a one-timer? or do you hold dims and sheep to the same standard as the GOP?

    I'm not asking that you give up any of your morals, feelings, or core values. And sometimes that is really, really friggin' hard to look at something you hate with "the light of a thousand suns" and say this "person" is not being treated the same as another. It doesn't have to be exact. And if doing things the right way is the right way. It has to be equally applied. Such as;

I think hunter is a POS that should be erased from the face of the earth (feeling).

I also believe hunter is being used only to get to pedojoe. It's common in gangster/ family/ dope/gun crimes. You get a low-hanging branch and see what you dig up. Pretty much the same thing they did in trumpster's trial. That's why I didn't say much about them doing that.

We know about the diamond from China. We also know about pedojr laundering money for the wife of the former mayor of Moscow. We also know he did not register as a foreign which he's required to do. He's not going to jail for 100 years with that. The bigger issue is the intricate pattern of shell and shelf companies that were used.

My question is; why congress is interested. Other than the aforementioned issue, and other than a National Security Risk, what's in it for them? I'm going to be watching this for how they proceed with the inquiry. And when they get to a "trial," how that works itself out.

So that's why I snooze during all of this. There will always be twists. Some interesting, some not so much. My goal is to call foul if there are legal issues involved. You just have to remember that even the person you hate the most in life deserves a fair trial.

    OD,
Credible evidence that Hunter Biden got $3.5 million from the mayor of Moscow’s wife is nonexistent (see link). Besides Trump claiming it, do you know of any proof that Hunter got that money (which I don’t think would be a crime in itself) and importantly it ended up as bribe in his father’s hands?

Honestly, as much as you deny it, financial crime is the easiest thing in the world to prove. It has a distinct paper trail that can be traced each part of the way. Whether you understand that or not is immaterial. There is a sender. There is a routing. There is a receiver. Period. All in black and white. Kinda like disputing DNA evidence. Here's a twofur for you.

I know that (as always) you're going to argue it. I don't care. Using YOUR definition of "evidence" as you use it against trumpster, it's used. It was on the laptop. The evidence supports that. So everything I said to po, you need to read also. And of course the fact that pedojoe didn't put her in the sanctions supports that theory. Remember, the money these oligarchs put through our system are not for that specific oligarch's money. Putin uses these folks to do his bidding. Some died because they reneged on the deal.

Biden doesn’t sanction billionaire linked to Hunter — despite actions against prominent Russians

WASHINGTON — President Biden kept his son Hunter’s alleged business associate Yelena Baturina off the list of new sanctions he announced Friday against prominent Russians to mark the first anniversary of the Kremlin’s invasion of Ukraine.

Biden’s administration touted in a press release that it adopted “more than 2,500 sanctions” so far to cripple Russia’s economy and halt the war, but Baturina again skated by as about 200 more people and entities were sanctioned Friday.

White House spokespeople would not supply an on-record comment about Baturina’s remarkable good fortune.

Baturina, the billionaire widow of Moscow’s longtime former Mayor Yury Luzhkov, allegedly paid $3.5 million to a firm associated with Hunter Biden in February 2014 while his father was vice president.

Records from a laptop abandoned by Hunter years later indicate that the then-second son met with his business partner Devon Archer and Baturina less than two months later at Lake Como in Italy.

Having the money from a foreign entity. Putting the money in a shell or shelf company and then putting it in to the US system and out again is called money laundering. If pedojoe got money from that? No idea. He shot her a $3.5MIL favor. And I'm not sure he took any "service charges" to do it (usually between 5-20%). That's the real catch. Laundering money and not charging for it is huge according to 18 U.S. Code Chapter 95 (§1956, §1957).

In this case, 2956 is the obvious choice, and then there's the issue of doing it for an oligarch in a hostile foreign government (1957). The kicker here is not registering as a foreign agent with the US Government. That shows intent and knowledge of criminal activity.

18 USC, 95 is the RICO (Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations) Act.
    18 U.S. Code § 1956 - Laundering of monetary instruments
18 U.S. Code § 1957 - Engaging in monetary transactions in property derived from specified unlawful activity.

    OD,
Did you read what you posted?

"Baturina, the billionaire widow of Moscow’s longtime former Mayor Yury Luzhkov, allegedly paid $3.5 million to a firm associated with Hunter Biden." That seems like some weak tea, and that's the NY Post talking. Before anybody brings up money laundering, it has be established that Hunter got the money.

I am not sure what criteria warrants placing a Russian on the sanctions list, do you? Was it in our national interest that she be on the list?

You would have to give her kudos for clairvoyance if years beforehand she shelled out $3.5 million to avoid being placed on a sanctions list in the event Joe Biden became president.

  18. by oldedude on December 10, 2023 12:13 pm
They MUST USE ALLEGELDLY, because they haven't proven it in court. Same thing happens to someone that murders someone in full view of TV cameras and 2,000 people. Wow. When did you get off the boat?🙄

Have you ever read a news article about an "alleged" crime or event and wondered why it sounds like even the writer of the piece wasn't sure what happened? This isn't just because journalists are hurrying to be the first to break a story: It's actually to prevent a libel lawsuit.

And still knowing that, as "president" pedojoe didn't put her on the sanction list when he was "supposedly" getting rid of corruption in Russia. Sounds like a quid pro quo to me!

It's an always-timer. I have always held all Americans to the same standard, regardless of political affiliations: The law and the Constitution. I have been in no way obscure about that.

Do you think as president, Trump intends to hold dims and sheep to the same standard as the GOP...? I've got some thoughts.

That's totally out of your control. Why take that on as something you think you have to manage?
