    I think the wakeup here is that our own SS woke, white electric limousine lovin Swampcultists are severely out of touch with reality. Not that any one of them would vote for GOP, but I wouldn't expect them to. As it said (snapshot in time, and subject to change within seconds) is that unless there are serious changes in the dims, the GOP will win. The left wants to go further left, but this shows America wants to go more centrist.

    Again, I'm going to reference Maslow's Hierarchy. If you're worried about family and your own security, you can't rise to think about theoretical issues with the "system." The focus with folks are the economy (inflation, etc), jobs (they can actually support themselves with), security of their families, the ability to raise their children, etc. These are core issues that spans across racial lines.

    Bang on,...because they choose to avoid truth in order to feed their preferences and prejudices. That's not to say that some on the right don't do that, too. But, today's left seems to resemble in mindset old-time, dogmatic Christian Fundamentalists. Almost all freethinkers today are center to right.

    That's curious to me because in our young days, it was progressives who had open minds.

    Actually, in historical perspective, it is not at all uncommon for the GOP and Dem primary leads to be neck and neck at this point before the election, regardless of who came out on top in the general. I mean, Reagan and Mondale were essentially tied in the polls this far out. Obama and Romney. Essentially it means that there is nothing special about any of this.

    That's why I switched parties in the early 1980s. What my dad (staunch blue-collar dim) taught me was very worker-centric. He was actually the president of the Colorado Education Association (CEA) for a year. I didn't understand it then, but he was so fed up with the union at that point, he quit teaching. I saw the dims for what they teach now. Taking away the rights of parents (except when they don't want to) and taking over the indoctrination of the youth. Very, very, Himmler of them.
