If you say you don’t recall, remember or know something and it’s not the truth, you are lying under oath. That's still perjury. Whether Trump is charged with perjury or not, hopefully the jury in the E. Jean Carroll rape/defamation case can see that Trump lies under oath without hesitation.
Trump’s affair was huge tabloid news. Now it’s apparently news to him.
Trump claimed in a deposition that he couldn’t remember if he was seeing Marla Maples before his divorce. It would be quite a thing to forget.
(WaPo)At one point [in the videotaped deposition], Carroll’s attorney asked Trump a basic factual question: "Isn’t it true that you were seeing Ms. Maples before you were divorced from Ivana Trump?"
Trump responded, amazingly, "I don’t know," in the sworn deposition. "It was towards the end of the marriage. So I don’t know, really. It could be a lapover, but I don’t really know."
(It is not clear what a "lapover" means, but we’re guessing it refers to overlap.)
"Best Sex I've Ever Had" is a headline that appeared on the front page of the New York Post on February 16, 1990. The headline is purportedly a quote from Marla Maples, who would become the second wife of the businessman Donald Trump. The quote refers to Trump's supposed prowess at sexual intercourse. Trump was married to Ivana Trump at the time of the headline; the couple's divorce was granted that year. The headline appeared during a media frenzy concerning the Trumps' marriage and his affair with Maples. ---Wikipedia
