This might be the worst punishment that Trump faces. His dwindling cult won't care that he's a tax cheat, lied about making donations, lied about donating his presidential salary to charity, lied about how rich he is, lied about how much he inherited or that he had secret foreign (including Chinese) bank accounts while president. But there are a lot of people who didn't see Trump for the fraud that he is, who now are starting to realize that they've been fooled.

Trump's main business is masquerading as a business-savvy billionaire and capitalizing on that phony image. I suspect that actually successful businesspeople will be reluctant to do business deals with him. Just as Trump became the kiss of death when it came to 2022 political endorsements, Trump-labeled hotels, golf courses, et cetera will be doomed to failure.

The exposure of Trump's taxes also revealed the IRS doesn't have the organizational skill to unravel "complicated" tax returns of the very wealthy and big corporations.

My view. I only worked for Dept of Treasury for 10 years, and with them for 35, so I may not know nearly as much about this as you do... I am at one point regarding money laundering. I am a Financial Criminal Analyst, by trade. I do agree that large businesses are a whole different animal. They can see what I cannot, but I can put together pieces they don't have the capability to do.

So honestly, if you're a financial analyst on that level, you need to stop stupid shit. You can't even give the difference between a SAR and a CRT. Why do you even talk about this? You're just making yourself look foolish. You think you know something you can't buy a clue about.

Maybe you read "an article" that makes you feel like a "queen." Sorry, you need to do the work for awhile. and be opened to not knowing everything in over 15 years of experience. This is still shifting, every day. What is what. How do the "Panama Papers" come into view? How do these things such as shell company differ with a shelf company, and why are the two not mutually exclusive? And how do they interact with each other and why?

How does the cattle/beef trade work with Chinese electronic trade on the global market? How does that interact with oil? Or global grain? or Christmas toys? Answer me these things on the global scale appropriately, and you may get a pass. Fail? and you're nothing but a little poser that wants himself to play with the big kids.

So far? You haven't proven yourself to be anyone of any import whatsoever. You don't know the primer book on this. My suggestion? quit while you're ahead. or, you can prove it to me. But everything you've said so far has been bullshit. It's a good thing to just accept your loss and leave this gendre. You're too overwhelmed with nuance to see the forest. And it's the trees you need to decypher.

So what did I get wrong? I said you wouldn’t care.

  3. by HatetheSwamp on January 1, 2023 3:03 am

As far as I can't tell, Curt, your rant is nuthin but pipe dreams and TDS myth.

  4. by Curt_Anderson on January 1, 2023 10:20 am
What part do you think is a myth? That having his taxes exposed might be Trump’s worst punishment? My prediction that real successful business people will become reluctant to do business deals with him? Or that the cultists will not care about his cheating and lying?

Everything Trump says or does is a con. People like myself knew this long before he entered politics, as so much had already been written about him.

Journalist David Cay Johnston, who's been writing about Donald Trump since the 90s has been saying for years that the whole reason DJT hasn't released his tax returns is because they would reveal what a loser he is.

The truth is that Donald Trump inherited almost a half billion dollars from his father, most of which he's lost. He would've been nearly a billionaire by now if he had simply made conservative investments.

Everything Trump says or does is a con.

    TDS

Isn't there ANYONE, apart from OD and pb, who's rational about Trump!!!!!?

  7. by Curt_Anderson on January 1, 2023 3:39 pm
It is reassuring to know that nothing I said in my opening post has been refuted. All I see is criticism that I criticized Donald Trump. Cult members can be very touchy.

  8. by HatetheSwamp on January 1, 2023 3:59 pm

Among all that mumbo-jumbo, what's worth refuting?

  9. by Donna on January 1, 2023 4:32 pm

Curt - What you said in your opening post reminded me of Republican strategist Rick Wilson's book, Everything Trump Touches Dies - A Republican Strategist Gets Real About the Worst President Ever

I haven't read it, but I've watched him countless times on various political shows. From the link below:

From Rick Wilson—longtime Republican strategist, political commentator, Daily Beast contributor—the #1 New York Times bestseller about the disease that is destroying the conservative movement and burning down the GOP: Trumpism.

In the #1 New York Times bestselling Everything Trump Touches Dies, political campaign strategist and commentator Rick Wilson delivers “a searingly honest, bitingly funny, comprehensive answer to the question we find ourselves asking most mornings: ‘What the hell is going on?’ (Chicago Tribune). The Guardian hails Everything Trump Touches Dies, saying it gives, “more unvarnished truths about Donald Trump than anyone else in the American political establishment has offered. Wilson never holds back.” Rick mercilessly exposes the damage Trump has done to the country, to the Republican Party, and to the conservative movement that has abandoned its principles for the worst President in American history.

Wilson unblinkingly dismantles Trump’s deceptions and the illusions to which his supporters cling, shedding light on the guilty parties who empower and enable Trump in Washington and in the media. He calls out the race-war dead-enders who hitched a ride with Trump, the alt-right basement dwellers who worship him, and the social conservatives who looked the other way. Publishers Weekly calls it, “a scathing, profane, unflinching, and laugh-out-loud funny rebuke of Donald Trump and his presidency.”

No left-winger, Wilson is a lifelong conservative who delivers his withering critique of Trump from the right. A leader of the Never Trump movement, he warned from the start that Trump would destroy the lives and reputations of everyone in his orbit, and Everything Trump Touches Dies is a deft chronicle the tragicomic political story of our time. From the early campaign days through the shock of election night, to the inconceivable train-wreck of Trump’s first year. Rick Wilson provides not only an insightful analysis of the Trump administration, but also an optimistic path forward for the GOP, the conservative movement, and the country.

“Hilarious, smartly written, and usually spot-on” (Kirkus Reviews), Everything Trump Touches Dies is perfect for those on either side of the aisle who need a dose of unvarnished reality, a good laugh, a strong cocktail, and a return to sanity in American politics.

As pb's been saying all along, Trump is despicable. But, don't you ever tire of the Trump Trump Trump Trump...TRUMP!!!!! shtick?

    C'mon man, gimme a break!

  11. by Curt_Anderson on January 1, 2023 5:21 pm
HtS is a political version of a Death Eater. He voted for Trump twice, would vote for Trump over any possible Democrat alternative in 2024. With all that fealty, he doesn’t want to talk about Trump. Like Voldemort, among cultists, Trump is The One Who Shall Not Be Named.

  12. by oldedude on January 1, 2023 9:21 pm
Donna and "curt". My answer is to compare his crimes with the same crimes from other equal political persons. That's all I ask. Please compare them to the cliton scheme. Interestingly there... people quit giving when she was voted out. obviously, she was given money for "favors." Prove me wrong in a court.

  13. by Curt_Anderson on January 1, 2023 9:33 pm
"My answer is to compare his crimes with the same crimes from other equal political persons." --OD

Well, we are getting somewhere. At least you admit that Trump committed crimes. That's a start.

But to your point. First off, there are not many people who are "equal political persons" to an ex-president. Much less comparable people who committed comparable crimes as it seems that Trump has.

Second, it is irrelevant. Tax crooks, people who take and mishandle classified documents, those who attempt to subvert the election process regardless of their wealth or status should be judged the same by blind lady justice.

  14. by oldedude on January 1, 2023 9:35 pm
The issue is that you refuse to believe that crimes were ever done by anyone you agree with. So you entire post is pretty well null and fukking void.

  15. by oldedude on January 1, 2023 9:38 pm
You're nothing more than a nancy boy for a string for a political ideas. Much like a grand duke of the KKK talking about "equal rights".

  16. by Curt_Anderson on January 1, 2023 9:55 pm
You got me there. I cannot think of anyone with whom I agree who committed crimes like those for which Trump is accused.

Can you think of anybody? And I don't mean those who you "believe" committed such crimes.

  17. by oldedude on January 1, 2023 10:07 pm
The issue is that you refuse to believe that anyone that that woule dadre to Threaten you with anything that would respond.
