Yup, it just makes sense to build in the US instead of Brazil. Brazil will prioritize trade negotiations with the United States to address the tariffs imposed by President Donald Trump as it continues to expand commercial agreements with other countries as a way to offset the impact, a top foreign trade official said Thursday.

“The guidance from the minister and Vice President (Geraldo Alckmin) is to negotiate, negotiate, negotiate,” Foreign Trade Secretary Tatiana Prazeres said at an online event hosted by the Brazil-China Business Council. “We have an open dialogue with U.S. authorities."

Brazilian imports to the United States have faced a 10% tariff since last week. Steel, one of Brazil’s key exports to the U.S., has been subject to a 25% tariff since March. The United States is Brazil’s second-largest trading partner, behind China. In 2024, the U.S. trade surplus with Brazil reached $28.6 billion in goods and services.

New development coming to Zephyrhills, bringing in hundreds of jobs
A new development is coming to Zephyrhills, bringing hundreds of jobs to the community. Bauducco is the third largest cookie manufacturer in the U.S. but was originally founded in Brazil. The international company broke ground on their property last month off Chancey Road. Plans call for the company to invest $200 million in the city and create nearly 600 new jobs.

Thank you President Biden! This move by the food company was announced in 2023.

    12.21.2023 By Lisa Munger
TAMPA, FLA. — Bauducco Foods, a Brazilian multinational company specializing in baked food products, purchased 72 acres of the Zephyrhills Airport Industrial Park Ready Site in Zephyrhills, the Greater Tampa Bay, Fla. area, in October.

Bauducco Foods plans to invest more than $200 million in a new 403,000-square-foot facility, which will produce and distribute the company’s products across the United States. The project will create about 600 new jobs, the company said.

Pasco County and the city of Zephyrhills have approved millions of dollars in economic incentives that clear the way for the project. To qualify for the city’s incentives, the company must fill 120 full-time positions with an average annual salary of at least 80% of the median one-person income in the Tampa Bay metropolitan area. Construction is set to take place in two stages, with the first phase expected to be operational near the end of 2024 or early 2025 and the second phase expected to be fully operational by 2028.

Y'know, Curt, I'm going to miss your visceral Good Germaning for "that feckless dementia-ridden piece of crap." You'll probably have few opportunities moving forward. Apparently, he's very close to receiving daily visits from Visiting Angels.

So, go for it while you can. Good times, man!

    HtS,
I am just happy that the EMTs resuscitated you after my informing you that the food company's move to Florida had nothing to do with Trump or tariffs.

That's so nice, let's say it twice, eh?

Hey, dude, I'm glad you had the opportunity to check it out and preach the Biden Gospel. That you're still doing it is heartwarming. Enjoy while you can. You Good German very, very well.

Had you read the articles, the Brazilians chose the date to publicly announce the move/ build to coincide with the tariff issue. I thought that was very clear. And for the second time, who's going to get credit? trumpster!

Maybe pedojoe should have changed his depends faster and gotten this done, history would have changed. And he didn't. But I guess coulda, woulda, shoulda.

OD, such a good point! How did the Brazilians know that in 2023 when they purchased the land in Florida for their bakery plant that Trump would be elected and impose tariffs? The only explanation is that they knew the election would be rigged in Trump's favor. It's no coincidence that Brazil along with Russia, India, and China comprise BRIC, the foreign investment strategies group.

So my point stands. pedojoe would have been able to claim it if he would have at least announced it. Although I think he really kind of wanted for trumpster to be able to claim all this because of how he was backstabbed by the dim party. So if you want to "claim" it, look back at how the liberals and your party fucked him over. Those things fall square on the shoulders on those who still support the party And again, with pedojoe's dementia, and the people pulling the strings not knowing WTF they were doing, you get trumpster being able to claim all of this.

    OD,
You are full of good points today, both implicit and explicit!

Why hasn't Trump announced and taken credit for the new Bauducco bakery plant in Florida? Apparently neither Biden or Trump read foodbusinessnews.net like I do. Maybe they can make a belated joint announcement.

Why hasn't Trump announced and taken credit for the new Bauducco bakery plant in Florida?
    I dunno. I'm not him.

Maybe it was in one of his televised Cabinet meetings. Which is a major change from the pedojoe regime. Both in the number of cabinet meetings and the number of questions answered to the press. trumpster answered nearly 100 questions from the press in his first three open press Cabinet meetings this year. That’s nearly 20 times the number answered by pedojoe in Cabinet meetings during his entire four years in office. In contrast, pedojoe answered five press questions over nine Cabinet meetings lasting about 5 minutes each in his entire term.
