Is anybody surprised that Trump's approach to management and dealing with employees would include legally dubious tactics? That's how he rolls.
A federal judge in California sided with a coalition of unions, temporarily barring the Office of Personnel Management from ordering federal agencies to terminate probationary workers, adding that the firings were “illegal, should be stopped and rescinded.” The judge, William Alsup, further ordered the Office of Personnel Management to notify the Pentagon tomorrow of the court’s ruling, because layoffs of probationary employees had been planned there.

Donald Trump has been scofflaw and a grifter his entire adult life. It amazes me what chumps so many Americans are.

Especially now - after all his time in the limelight. I wonder about the older folks especially because of his time with the USFL. He destroyed that league with his idiotic decisions and lack of any shred of business acumen - then he was embarrassed in front of the whole nation by "winning" a $3 judgement against the NFL in court. Basically everything he claimed to be - "winner" at everything, successful businessman, never loses in court, smartest man in every room - was laid bare for the lie it was and for the whole world to see. He's always been a low rent con man and he still is - he just has more chumps like Brown Shorts and the Cop Killer here buying his 3 card monty scheme.
by oldedude on February 27, 2025 6:40 pm This is the one SCOTUS wants to look at so they put a hold on it. You jumped way too soon.
A reminder. SCOTUS did NOT put a stay on the decision. That's one for the CA judge. Had they put a stay on it, I think that may have been not allowing the process to complete the way it's supposed to. This gives everyone more latitude. CA still can't do much, but SCOTUS has to respond faster. And even IF they would take the case, they must (by law) allow the apelet courts to serve as they're designed. I think it's really about schedules, and making this available (or not) if they're going to allow it.
And also, both sides have a case, so there's a lot to listen to.
Again, there is no decision until the big dog calls the hunters in. Whine about what you want to, welcome to a system of checks and balances! Things could be worse. We just have to wait.
by Curt_Anderson on February 27, 2025 6:52 pm OD,
Notice I said “legally dubious”. Decent employers and business people don’t have their actions halted (even temporarily) by the courts. As Donna said, Trump is a scofflaw and grifter.
by oldedude on February 27, 2025 6:59 pm That's right, you always throw in a caveat so no one can think you actually have a position on any question whatsoever. The coward's way out.
by Curt_Anderson on February 27, 2025 7:34 pm OD,
No, it’s called being precise in my choice of words. I avoid hyperbolic claims.
by ROB3RT on February 27, 2025 8:46 pm
What makes you think PedoDude is prone to hyperbole?
by oldedude on February 27, 2025 9:22 pm First, other than curt (sometimes) and donna (less than, but still understands what a citation does. Lead and I are the only ones that actually cite what we say. Unlike most of the bullshit that "people" "spout" out of different orifices and claim it as "fact."
We'll just start with that. I don't really care if you like it or not.

I know very little about the law and the Constitution but I do know that the President is the head of the Executive Branch of government.
My sense, though, is that a crack legal team planned out all of Trump’s actions carefully and that, when all is said and done, he'll prevail...
... except for the Birthright Citizenship thing, which is probably a political ploy.
by oldedude on February 28, 2025 3:09 pm Curt- my point is that you always leave yourself a way out, since you're rarely correct. The interesting thing is that you write the thread up as if it WERE "fact" and then you hide the "maybe" in a small corner that barely exists. Is this a cuckhold thing? Even with lawyers, I've never seen anything like this, So I'm not familiar with it.
