Tulsi Gabbard Fires 100 Intelligence Officers for Sex Chats on NSA-Hosted Tool
Gabbard characterized her decision as part of a wider effort by President Donald Trump‘s administration to purge the intelligence community of elements he claims are acting against the national interest by establishing their own parallel power structure, which some conservatives and conspiracy theorists call the “deep state.”
The Central Intelligence Agency is currently planning a mass firing of officials who work on recruiting and diversity. Since taking office, Trump has ordered departments and agencies across the federal government to shut down equity initiatives

At least she cited the reason she fired them. I support the firings if her allegations are true.

Federal Bureaucrats are employed at the pleasure, ultimately, of the President.
Trump campaigned on the promise to reduce the mammoth size of Federal bureaucracy. He's keeping a promise crucial to his election.
Obviously, there's going to be ugliness connected to gutting the bureaucracy. It may be that the way DOGE is doing it is haphazard and chaotic. If it is, I'll never, ever trust reports of the deranged TrumpHaters from whom you get your "news."

I don't think so. Only a select few federal employees serve at the "pleasure of the president' They include those who:
• Works within the Executive Branch of the federal government
• Is appointed or nominated by the president
• Usually serves in a high-ranking office
If Gabbard fires people for posting naughty and sexually suggestive messages, will she attempt to fire the Pussy-Grabber-in-Chief?

I don't quite see where the power structure is. Perhaps she thinks their sexual urges are such that they rival President' Krasnov's libido.

Curt- I'm not surprised that you consider porn a "reasonable accommodation" for you and your "friends." The truth is that if you working for the government, the computer is NOT your property. The government owns the computer and therefore ALL WORK THAT IS DONE ON IT. That goes from the GS1 all the way through the Senior Executive Services. Looking at porn of ANY SORT is especially included in things you can get fired for.
You also can't use your government computer to use for personal business. The exception "may" be things like, arranging for airline tickets for an approved work trip, as well as hotel stay for the same approved trip.
It is "ILLEGAL" to get a hotel room for the hooker you're going to meet at lunch. As far as I'm aware, these restrictions apply to all levels of government from local (city/county), State, and federal for sure. I would also be shocked if you had a clearance and looked up porn sites and were a contractor. Most companies that deal with classified have the same rules.
I'm sorry, I just had to laugh at you!
FYSA- We had a guy booted because he was talking to some woman on a dating site. THAT WAS IMPROPER ON A GOVERNMENT COMPUTER (remember, it's not your computer. No one is violating crap of yours. AND they can follow your keystrokes. IT'S THEIR COMPUTER!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣OMFG!!!!! THAT'S SO EFFING FUNNY!!!!!!!!..BTW, for him? They had everything copied down, his computer access agreement, etc. The front door guard called our desk, Security picked him up, they explained it to him and he was gone in about 20 minutes.
So Donna, this sounds like it was a group that was complicit. And you know they'll all roll on each other because "maybe" if you're the first one to crack, you'll get less. I doubt it, but there it is. I agree with you. And knowing how little it would take to strip them of their clearance, this would be "one of those things." We agree for sure. cio.gov
by Curt_Anderson on February 26, 2025 7:40 pm OD,
I don't disagree that misuse of government computer by a federal employee could be a legitimate firing offense. I was disagreeing with HtS's contention that all "Federal Bureaucrats are employed at the pleasure, ultimately, of the President."
I believe you were a federal employee. I don't think the President could have fired you because you didn't "pleasure" the President.

100% behind this one. Curt has probably been out of the workforce since the internet became a thing, but any company that catches employees using company machines to look at porn is most likely going to fire that person. For one thing, they could be looking at child porn (no offense, OD) or some other illicit or illegal pornography. If they are downloading porn from their friends on twitter or something instead of using a pay site as a member - there is good possibility it was obtained illegally from a BBS just like this one that caters to porn lovers instead of political junkies. So there could be legal repercussions for the company as well as the employee.
Then there is the other side of the coin - the "intelligence" community is an overbloated, unaudited mess just like the military. This is a FANTASTIC place to find employees who aren't doing anything productive and if they have been found to be looking at porn on company time - they obviously do not have enough work to keep them busy. So Tulsi? Keep up the good work. May I suggest you look at Homeland "Security" next? That place is nothing more than a money hole for nepotism hires.

I believe you were a federal employee. I don't think the President could have fired you because you didn't "pleasure" the President.
That works.
When you get down to it, like the military, the "president" is able to fire anyone. This is slightly nuanced. The "President" isn't going to fire some GS5. It's a waste of their time.
IF it's a security issue, the "President" may have input. This is where the ROE from obomber comes in. If you violated the ROE during obomber, expect to spend 20 years to life in federal prison.
If it wasn't obomber, the hierarchy of that service would decide what kind of courts martial would happen. The "president" may "know" about what's going on if it's a politically sensitive thing. Say a murder to a local in a foreign country. Many times that is going to have someone from the President's staff being reported to and working with the host country if necessary.
As far as SES's. There's more than you make out. Being a GS13, step 4, I was 2 GS levels away from an SES. I would work and brief at least a dozen in our small agency. And yes, right now, I'll bet they're all looking to work in the private sector before they get fired. I do think, our agency was fairly far out of the scandals you're watching now. IRS? not so much. Especially if you were part of the Lois Lerner thing. Secret Service? I'd be walking around getting my papers ready. You might as well take the out and work for joe's tax service the rest of your life. Those are going to get ugly. But IRS/Main Treasury admitted fault, so you the buck stops with you.
