It's becoming increasingly obvious to ole pb that Elon Musk is only exposing the the tip of the iceberg.
HatetheSwamp has been saying that the Swamp is rife with dysfunction and corruption. He has no idea...
The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) spent $20 billion on grants going to migrants in the years of former President Joe Biden's presidency, which saw record numbers of illegal immigration in the United States.
The taxpayer-funded assistance was used to help purchase cars, homes, as well as loans for start-up businesses among other services in the United States, according to the New York Post. The Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) at HHS handed out around $20 billion to nonprofits and NGOs in the fiscal years of 2021-2024 in what the outlet said was a "giant magnet" for those crossing the border and claiming asylum. The data was given to the outlet by OpenTheBooks.
In fiscal year 2021, $2.3 billion was sent out the door, followed by $3.3 billion in 2022, $10 billion in 2023, and $4.2 billion in 2024. The funding is obligated spending, meaning that not all the funds have been disbursed, but are set to be.
The ORR was tasked with resettling migrants claiming asylum as well as refugees coming to the United States. The Biden administration drastically increased the number of migrants that were able to get funding from ORR, and over $10 billion was spent on grants in 2023 alone to manage the influx of foreign nationals.

by Curt_Anderson on February 18, 2025 10:13 am At least we know which migrant is getting those billions of dollars.
Feb 11 (Reuters) - Elon Musk's companies have a variety of contracts with the U.S. Department of Defense, highlighting the growing relationship between the tech entrepreneur's ventures and the U.S. military. The contracts include:
SpaceX: Provides launch services to the DoD, including the launch of classified satellites and other payloads. SpaceX's CEO Gwynne Shotwell has said the company has about $22 billion in government contracts. The vast majority of that, about $15 billion, is derived from NASA.

Well, Curt, we know who's getting those billions, too.
And, Bubba! Those contracts were awarded while "that feckless dementia-ridden piece of crap" was doling out the grift, eh?
Musk, and Rogan, were Dems until being Dem became intolerable...
... just like pb!

At least we know which contracts are getting those billions of dollars. And it's not thrown away supporting the cartels (because pedojoe didn't know who came through the border. Ergo, the money was as gone as the cash sent to Iran and the Taliban).
by Indy! on February 18, 2025 11:08 am
The difference being Musk doesn't need the cash. That's the very definition of "waste".
by oldedude on February 18, 2025 11:13 am So you're saying the money goes to him and not the contracts. Is that fair? My requirements of being audited doesn't change just because it's musk. Anyone that is actually in a real business would understand how you're required to show how the money is different and keep them separated. Especially in a multi-million/billion dollar business.
by meagain on February 18, 2025 11:47 am The economic ignorance is palpable. That $20 billion would be money well spent. Money invested in people and the economy which would pay for itself several times over in time.
by Indy! on February 18, 2025 12:32 pm
Good lord. Now the military guy thinks he knows business. Call me when you've actually had a REAL job, OD. 🙄
by oldedude on February 18, 2025 12:49 pm That's what you said, I was just wondering since you've obviously never received a grant, or contract in your life. Otherwise you would have phrased it differently.
by Indy! on February 18, 2025 3:01 pm
Now you're my accountant too? 😂 Five minutes talking business with you and it's obvious you've been a welfare recipient your whole life. We've been over this. Stick to your guns and explaining weapons systems nobody cares about. That's your lane.
by oldedude on February 19, 2025 4:23 am Well, you can talk "military" and I know more about these two than you do the "military" so I thought I would school you since you haven't gotten it right yet.🤣🤣🤣
And yes, remember I've been schooling you in financial crime (which actually involves finance). This is different than your "understanding" of the US military which is worse than meagain's understanding. And less current.🤣
by oldedude on February 19, 2025 4:33 am Lead- What's funny is that curt automatically went directly to "whataboutisms" because none of the libs can dream up a case for why migrants received far more services than citizens that are trying to find jobs here and make a living. And to boot, it only assisted the cartels to rape and murder migrants that are actually trying to be good citizens, work, and live here as honest citizens.
The proof? pedojoe, curt, indy, (et al) don't have a clue where it went because they don't know who came through the border. So even if migrant wanting to be a good citizen received anything, indy's buddies threatened the lives of the families and took everything from them.
Welcome to the libs supporting the cartels.
by HatetheSwamp on February 19, 2025 6:40 am
Bang on, OD. Bang on.

Trying to start things up again, Odorous? Remember - you never once denied you're a cop killer.
by oldedude on February 19, 2025 9:16 am Again. Learn about a problem before you start talking shit.
The cartels are taking over apartment buildings and shaking the residents down that are trying to make a living down for anything the cartels can get. And the "residents" although may all be immigrants themselves, may not be. This is one of the reasons trumpster took a much larger piece of the minority voting block. The minorities affected by the rise in crime in their areas were completely discarded by the dims, leaving them to fend for themselves. It was also accountable for the rise in gun buying among (especially) black neighborhoods where the dims pulled and defunded police. reuters.com msn.com denverite.com city-journal.org

I don't remember saying anything at all about apartment buildings or cartels, OD.
by oldedude on February 19, 2025 10:46 am They're just your buddies, I was answering meagain. Don't be a paranoid schizophrenic.
by meagain on February 19, 2025 12:09 pm That is cartels operating in Mexico. Not migrants in the USA. It is driving migration. It is not in America and says so in your references.
by oldedude on February 19, 2025 1:42 pm Hate to tell you but Aurora, CO, is in the US. Damn near dead center. That said, the rest were issues of a gang war in Mexico that is spilling over and they're taking shots at USBP, news media, and anyone else working on the border. Our military and USBP are all armed with long guns and are in an advanced force condition because of this. Honestly, that's my error. So to make things better, here are the quickest four I could pick up. This doesn't include the Haitian in Detroit, a gang banger with sexual assaults and homicides on his rap sheet.
They've also done hundreds of "returns to country" of gang members from Central America. The one's in Mexico have been around for decades. MS as the import, but we've had the Crips, Bloods, Surs and Nortenos that were home grown. So they don't really count. What I did was to give you some background and history of the Mexican gangs that have been coming in "at will" the past four years.
Federal authorities on Wednesday announced the dismantling of a violent transnational gang that has terrorized Massachusetts’ North Shore and other New England states for years.
About two dozen leaders and gang members of the Trinitarios, a Dominican American criminal organization, are facing federal charges, including racketeering conspiracy in connection with six murders and 11 attempted murders, U.S. Attorney Leah Foley said during a press conference late Wednesday morning.
As of Dec, 2024 "ICE removed largest number of people in US illegally since 2014"
And it's become common for local supporters for the gangs are leaking information to them (these are mostly media sources and politicians).
ICE previously said on Wednesday that "100+ members of the violent Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua were targeted for arrest and detention" in raids that day. However, the operation ultimately produced far fewer than that number.
The arrest and detentions are separate from a DEA operation ABC News also observed in Denver that day while accompanying ICE and Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) agents. The DEA operation resulted in at least two-drug related arrests that were not related to immigration status, sources told ABC News.
And for those who say that we're "splitting up families and taking out legal aliens. JUST A REMINDER- In the US, to be stopped by a Law Enforcement person does NOT mean you've been "Arrested." Because you're being questioned does NOT mean you've been "arrested." "U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) said it arrested 956 people on Sunday. But an NBC News report found immigration authorities had close to 1,200 arrests that day and just 613, or nearly 52%, were considered “criminal arrests.”
The rest appeared to be nonviolent offenders or people who have not committed any criminal offense other than crossing the border illegally. Being undocumented is considered a civil offense, not a crime."
