Rules of the Post
I'm "assuming" some of you actually read some news other than the cartoon channel. In the recent week or so, there's been an uproar of dems and DOGE protests. I'm mixed about this, and there are two issues that are completely different.
1. The systematic dumping of employees. A couple of issues I have with this. Having worked as a civilian federal employee (and received one of my retirements through them), I honestly don't believe there is any agency that can be just closed without investigation. Education to me is the closest. Education only began in 1980, so we were good without it before. AND I stand by the investigation.
Another issue with the employee's issue. The federal government does NOT have a way to have more than 10,000 resign or retire in any given year. Office of Personnel Management hasn't bothered to automate that process yet and holds the records in a limestone cave.
Given these two issues. I believe everyone has the right to show they actually produce something. In the system now, there are employees that actually do nothing for their agency. Most of these lost their clearance, but it would take years for them to be fired because of the OPM rules. So they're wasting the government's money.
trumpster and musk simply don't have the ability to close entire agencies. And there need to be audits.
Con't in DOGE #2.
