Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., said he opposes using the military for mass deportations, which President-elect Donald Trump said he plans to do. Paul said on “Face the Nation” that he believes using the military for such an operation would look bad and be illegal.
“But you don’t do it with the Army because it’s illegal. We’ve had a distrust of putting the Army into our streets,” Paul said. “Because the police have a difficult job, but the police understand the Fourth Amendment. They have to go to judges, they have to get warrants, it has to be specific. And so I’m for removing these people, but I would do it through the normal process of domestic policing.”

This - if it ever happens (and I doubt it will) - will go over like one of Ron Desantis’ dumb ideas. The police in GOPerville will be cracking heads and the big city cops will treat it like somebody smoking an illicit joint - they’ll just look the other way.

The GOP is the home of openness and inclusion, acceptance, diversity, tolerance and freethinking!
by oldedude on November 26, 2024 6:19 am For the most part, I'll agree with Rand. AND like indy (and most other libs, especially on this site), his view of the military is through the lens of gomer pyle in the '50's (they think that's a documentary).
Where I differ is that we must arm the police to at least how well armed these terrorists are. No less. And better trained. The US (black and latino) gangs are one thing. lots of pistols, and an AR ever once in awhile. TDA is typically armed the way they are in South America. AK's and AR's, with some pistols. They've been known to use RPGs (self-propelled grenades) and RPKs (a machinegun much like our old M60, using a .308 round), and plastic explosives.
Getting them out is nothing less than Urban house to house, door to door fighting, much like Fallujah was. Be prepared for at least 20% of the police force going in to be murdered by these assholes. If we're using police, we need to recruit from the operators that have fought this type of warfare. Granted, TDA don't really insist on dying for their cause, but they'll do it. Will they take innocents with them? Of course. They're terrorists, just like Hamas. Their goal is not religious though. Money is.
The good news is that this will prepare us when the other terrorists chose to start their war. Except then we'll have to deal with a lot more IEDs/EFPs. So there's that.

Well said, OD.
It will take many $billions to attempt to undo the border mess "that feckless dementia-ridden piece of crap's" string-pullers have done. Undoubtedly, many lives will be lost in the effort. Perhaps, more than were wasted in Afghanistan. And, it's a war we really can't win.
For years, I've been saying that the Swamp needs to write reasonable immigration law... not like the GOPs' HR2. And, not like the "bipartisan," haha, Senate bill the Dems wrote to try to take the immigration issue away from the GOPs.
pb is HATETHESWAMP, in large part, because of this.

I am sure I saw somewhere this morning a ruling that it would be legal for use of the military. I caan't find it now but I did see something. Unfortunately, I did not even read whatever it was. Just another of the mad Dictator's threats.
by HatetheSwamp on November 26, 2024 8:39 am
Perhaps, meagain. But, doubtful. The President is the Commander-in-Chief. There's a lot of authority that comes with that.

Cops do not need guns. Period. They are the problem.

That was your head.
by oldedude on November 28, 2024 8:31 am You're illusion is that you think you know so much more than you actually do. And to think you, of all people, the picture of a "delicate" "man?" could actually survive in a any sort of anarchy. You'd insult them thinking you were making a joke, and they would kill you for fun, or maybe just brand you with a hot iron, hobble you and make you their little bitch. Which might not be bad for you, since that's what you've done all your life.
by Indy! on November 29, 2024 3:48 pm
Why are you so angry all the time, OD? Take time out and sniff the flowers.
by oldedude on November 29, 2024 6:46 pm Because you're continually a dikead. AND you "think" you're funny, which you're not. And you can never stay on a topic. And you're just a toxic person.

Along with Trudeau flying to Mar a Lago (as was decided today), Canada is getting ready for an influx of illegals from the US back to Canada.😱[1]
I like this idea! Hopefully, all the Colombian and Nicaraguan, and Honduran gangsters will leave and live in, say Toronto and Ottawa. Vancouver wouldn't be a good idea because the Asian gangs already own it. On the other hand, I guess the gang war will be okay since Canada has allowed unknown aliens into our country for years. Maybe the US liberals will take gangs seriously for murdering Canadians more than the impact than murdering Americans.🙄
And we've just had a huge uptick in contacts from Canada. Experts say organized smugglers are taking advantage of lax Canadian screening.[2]🤔
SO! Justin isn't flying down to see pedojoe. He's landing in Miami and going to Mar a Lago.🤔 justin KNOWS where the power is. And what is going to hurt him, and Canada. So curt, donna, the rest of the limousine libs on the site. Maybe this does have an "affect" on many things. Welcome to negotiations 101. The "freshman" course of the series' of watching negotiations for the next four years.
So is trumpster a "bully?" Perhaps. He announced taking away China's "most favored nation" status away, where pedojoe put it on (and pedojr got a diamond for it). That's really interesting because the Pacific countries are worried shitless about China taking their land, and taking over their countries and natural resources.
One of the reasons trumpster got elected was over security from the minorities in the US. The dim refusal to hold murderers for any length of time is appalling. The PEOPLE that are affected by the dims refusal to do the FIRST thing a government is charged with (security of the citizens) is an epic failure. And they voted on being safe. Questions? read Maslow. It's important for people to be able to sleep at night and not expect their children to be murdered by a rideby shooting.
Some folks have an issue with charging people with crimes, especially rape and murder. For those folks, you're not human. Your lack of any compassion to me, is amazing. And disheartening. Do you care that little for your family? If so you deserve to rot in the fires of hell for the rest of days. If you "think" your family is "different" than some unknown four year old from another country to be used in prostitution, You're no better than any other rapist and thief they will encounter. You should be in jail as a marked child rapist because of your complicity. So you feel their pain.
