FEMA has been forced to temporarily stop disaster recovery efforts in several areas suffering the impacts of Hurricane Helene. Those pauses came from threats on workers and, in one case, the reported presence of an armed militia.

The sheriff of Ashe County in northwestern North Carolina shared via Facebook that FEMA offices had paused operations in the county after facing unspecified threats in the state...

The news comes after weeks of right-wing misinformation about the storm and the government's disaster response, spread online and boosted by both Donald Trump and JD Vance. President Joe Biden has publicly condemned Trump, who has stated that recovery efforts are being intentionally delayed because Helene impacted Republican voters.

Only a sociopath would spread disinformation to hamper hurricane relief efforts. This is a new low for Trump. He can go lower, though. His lowness has no limits.

    Federal emergency response workers operating in North Carolina's Rutherford County in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene were told to evacuate on Saturday over concerns that an "armed militia" was threatening workers in the area, it has been reported.

    An official with the U.S. Forest Service, which is supporting recovery efforts along with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), sent an message to numerous federal agencies at around 1 p.m. on Saturday warning that FEMA has advised all federal responders in Rutherford County to "stand down and evacuate the county immediately," The Washington Post reported.

    National Guard troops had come across two trucks of "armed militia saying they were out hunting FEMA," the email said. "The IMTs [incident management teams] have been notified and are coordinating the evacuation of all assigned personnel in that county.

    So she's implying that complying with FEMA will get you killed.

    Loomer is a surrogate that Trump has been seen with frequently, and he didn't refute her tweet.

    I monitor right-wing media regularly. I've never seen a clip of Loomer or read anything about her or from her on right-wing media. I ain't saying that there ain't none. But, from the progressive Swampcult? All the time.

    You can visit X and read Loomer's tweet yourself. It's just like what I posted, but without the typo.

    Trump is an instigator, like you, Hate, only you're a nobody. Trump has been feeding his unquestioning and dutiful minions malarky about FEMA refusing to rescue people in Republican areas and diverting funds to undocumented immigrants, iow casting FEMA as the enemy.

    If Trump disapproved of Loomer's tweets or the actions of those making threats against FEMA, you know damned well that all he'd have to do is tell them to knock it off and that FEMA is doing a great job. He could have done that on Jan 6th too, but instead egged on the insurrectionists.

    That's how Trump has always operated. And that's why so many of his minions have done jail time, but Trump always avoids jail. He's a sly one, not to mention a sociopath.

    Take a valium. You're so defensive. I've never claimed that Loomer is mainstream, even among MAGAs. Trump was palling around with her quite a bit not too long ago, though, she does have a lot of MAGA fans, and her tweet pertained to the topic thread.

Comically, and probably jealously, Marjory Taylor Greene denounced her. “This is such an important election.
