In a post on social media platform “Truth Social”, Trump said, “So we are forced to spend time and money on fighting Crooked Joe Biden, he polls badly after having a terrible debate, and quits the race. Now we have to start all over again.”

“Shouldn’t the Republican Party be reimbursed for fraud in that everybody around Joe, including his doctors and the fake news media, knew he was not capable of running for, or being, President? Just askin’?” he said.

Trump also doubted that Mr. Biden was suffering from COVID-19.

    There's a great article in The Atlatic describing how the Trump team were counting on running against Biden. The didn't have a backup plan.

    Not having an Atlantic subscription I was only able to read the first few sentences. But it was enough to feed my schadenfreude.

    Joe Biden committed a selfless and patriotic act by stepping aside. Republicans, certainly not Trump, cannot relate to putting the country ahead of personal interests. That's why they haven't accounted for the possibility that Biden would drop out.

    Lots of articles this morning on Trump's rants over Biden dropping out if the race. Wow, you don't suppose that Dumb Donald is afraid of competing against Kamala?

    Hannity, playing to the lowest common denominator of the GOP, the MAGAs, last night, responded to Kamala's candidacy by launching a blistering attack on her last night when he ran a montage of clips of Kamala laughing.

    I like a president who can let their guard down and laugh. I think we need more of that in these worrisome times, and I sense that most Americans agree. So keep it up, Sean!

    I wanted to gag by Trump's classless response to the events of yesterday.

    Having said that, keeping up on the political right as I have been for years, trust me, Trump ain't afraid of competing against Kammy. He may be wrong, but I'm confident that he knows in his heart, for certain, that he has already won the election, that Kammy is a far weaker opponent that was the Doddering Old Fool.

    Curt's our finest authority on the comings and goings of the GOPs. He quotes regularly from Fox News. I'm surprised that he hasn't filled us in on Trump’s Michigan rally on Saturday.

    Trump’s going to run against Joe's handling of the border, inflation and crime. Kammy, et.al. will have to support Joe's policies or not.

    Then,...

    Based on the past 24 hours, he'll push the "what did you know and when did you know it," question as far as Joe's broken brain is concerned.

    Then, of course, Kammy's imbecilic word salads.

    I watched the YouTube you posted. Whenever Hannity and Republicans show Harris laughing they are also showing her very nice smile. Unless a person is a MAGA cultist, Kamala laughing is a positive. Warm, friendly people laugh often. People with a genuine warm laugh at a party or group setting attract other people. I hope the Republicans show more clips of Kamala laughing.

    I cannot remember ever hearing Trump laugh. And Stephen Miller (shudder), that creep doesn't laugh, he probably expresses amusement by flicking his snake-like tongue.

    I agreed with Trump pulling militarily out of Afghanistan and Syria, and I praised him here on this forum for doing that.

    But he's just so goddamned toxic and wrong for our country. He tried to pull a coup for crissakes. F**k that and the MAGA proto-fascist Project 2025.

    I think that come election time, most Americans will have come to their senses and will vote for Kamala. Actually she's the perfect candidate to go up against Dumb Donald.

    I don't.

    He, being master of The Art of the Deal, will probably renegotiate... in a way that will force the Kackler either to make concessions or lose face in front of moderate and independent common sense voters.

    I suspect that Trump's having trouble sleeping at night anticipating a dialog on her performance as Border Czar and discussing Laken Riley, et.al.. her role in the cover-up of Joe's cognitive decline. And, her praise of Joe's handling of inflation and fuel prices.

    Beyond that, as a narcissist and bully, I don't think it's within Trump to "chicken out."

    And, honestly, Curt, there's a whole heck of a lot more to Kammy's story than you are learning from your Holy Trinity and po's metaphorical Rachel.

    Kammy's deeply flawed.

    But, enjoy the honeymoon.
