Gang,

I ain't much of a progressive. But, I do believe that Bernie should have won the 016 Dem nomination... and, that he's the rightful winner... and may have defeated the Orange Turd.

Those of you who think Joe Biden is gunna disappear to please the Dem smoke-filled room? Wake up.

WASHINGTON – Sen. Bernie Sanders announced Saturday that he will back President Joe Biden in the 2024 presidential campaign, bucking the growing number of leaders in the Democratic Party who say the president should step aside.

“I will do all that I can to see that President Biden is re-elected,” Sanders, I-Vt., wrote in an op-ed published in the New York Times.

“Why?” the senator continued. “Despite my disagreements with him on particular issues, he has been the most effective president in the modern history of our country and is the strongest candidate to defeat Donald Trump — a demagogue and pathological liar.”

...the Vermont Senator criticized the media for focusing on Biden’s cognitive capabilities and criticized Democrats who “have joined that circular firing squad.”

The truth is that the most progressive Dems support Joe fiercely.

Thank you for the Troll perspective.

I doubt that Bernie would have won the 2024 general election. Most Americans, including most Democrats, prefer capitalism to socialism.

I was speculating that Bernie was a stronger candidate in 016.

Republicans have always seen Bernie as a candidate who would be easy to beat. See excerpt from 2019 Politico story.

Republicans pray for Bernie as Democratic nominee
    By BURGESS EVERETT
    05/07/2019 05:01 AM EDT

Republicans like their chances of keeping the Senate in 2020. But there’s one thing they think would all but seal the deal: Bernie Sanders as the Democratic presidential nominee.

Some GOP incumbents are practically cheering him on, confident there’s no way a self-described democratic socialist could win a general election against President Donald Trump and that he’d drag other Democrats on the ballot with him.

“It would be good for us to have a nominee like that,” said Sen. Joni Ernst (R-Iowa), who is up for reelection next year and sounded downright giddy about the prospect of Sanders representing Democrats at the top of the ticket.

Trump and the Senate GOP have explicitly designed their 2020 strategy around Sanders, beating the anti-socialism drum incessantly and attempting to tether every Democrat on the ballot to what they call a creep away from capitalism and toward collectivism.

And though he’s consistently trailing former Vice President Joe Biden at this early stage, some top Republicans said they sincerely believe Sanders has a legitimate shot at winning.

“A lot of people think that in that crowded field, he could break out,” said Senate Majority Whip John Thune (R-S.D.).

He added: “If we can run a race against a person that’s an out-of-the-closet socialist and promoting socialist ideas, it’s a great contrast for us.”

The truth is that nobody, not even you, ROB3RT, know how Bernie would have done against Trump.

Robert least of all. He's the most linear political "thinker" I've ever met in my life. Just hand him the D talking points and he's good. Bet ya a dollar he still has a Hillary campaign sign hanging in his house somewhere even after I told him Hillary could not possibly win.

Oh, and Bernie? Would have slaughtered Trump and ended all this Supreme Whored nonsense before it even started. There's only one way to point the finger to how we got here - the horribly mismanaged D party and the minions who keep voting for them.
