As best as you can, choose the sentence, or sentences, that most closely match your belief at this point in time from the multiple choices:

Mostly E. They probably think they are doing a good thing.

I've heard actors say that to play a villain properly, play the character as if they believe that their actions are justified. That's the SCOTUS majority.

This is that test in school where the first line says "read the entire quiz before answering any questions" and then the last line says "don't answer any questions". Meanwhile people are yelling out "I'm at #10! because that's what #10 says to do."

  3. by Indy! on July 2, 2024 8:33 pm

Quote mark screw-up - should be...

"I'm at #10!" because that's what #10 says to do.

  4. by oldedude on July 2, 2024 8:42 pm
    "A" no exceptions.

  5. by oldedude on July 2, 2024 8:44 pm
sorry, i read that wrong. all but "E". Those who answer "E" can't read the constitution.

  6. by Ponderer on July 3, 2024 6:33 am

Thanks for your honest answer, od. There are apparently a minority of Americans who feel the same way as you do. Let's see if Hate isn't too much of a sniveling, two-faced, mendacious coward to answer as honestly as you have.

So Indy!, I take it then that your answer is "G"...?

Curt, I believe you are correct. At the very least.

  7. by Ponderer on July 3, 2024 6:41 am

"sorry, i read that wrong. all but "E". Those who answer "E" can't read the constitution." -olde dude

That reads rather differently than your first answer. Are you sure you didn't read it wrong a second time...? You can have another go at it if you want.

    So your answer is:

    A. faithfully served as our nation's Founders intended it to be.

    B. weaponized to destroy democracy by a cabal of the Republican party to overthrow the other party and permanently seize control in a decades-long-term coup.

    C. manipulated by those in power with the will to do it, to benefit a single man by placing him in a lawless position far above every other citizen of this country.

    D. twisted and bent by MAGA Republicans into a dystopian nightmare of the very concept of what this country was founded on.

    F. Skullfucked by the Republican party.

    G. All of the above except for A.

    ?

I guess I'm curious as to how you would believe A is correct while also believing most all of the other choices are correct.

  8. by Ponderer on July 3, 2024 6:43 am

And od, how exactly would believing that our justice system is being overwhelmed by a radical minority who want to turn this country into a draconian theocracy where civil rights are only held by those who It deems worthy denote an inability to read the Constitution...?

  9. by HatetheSwamp on July 3, 2024 6:58 am

Where's the "None of the above" choice?

But, po, thanks for the awesome post.

All of us bring our preferences and prejudices to every moment of our lives. You do that with no shame. You are rare. Not unique, but very, very rare.

Just for context. On this immunity issue? Don't forget. Trump freakin friggin EFFINlost.

Trump argued that a president should have ABSOLUTE immunity... and he didn't get his way. The Supreme Court majority split the baby.

As OD and pb agree, this decision was a start. The issue will be refined in future decisions.

But, don't lose sight of the central truth. Trump lost.

    So, NONE OF THE ABOVE.

  10. by Indy! on July 3, 2024 11:42 am

Yes my answer is G. But I think you left one option out... The Clowns are simply bought and paid for prostitutes doing what their pimps tell them to do. The Supreme Whored is a completed project that started in 2000 with the Bush/Gore decision. That's when they threw the Constitution out and made it all about the money. Bunch of whores bent over their bench for the Kock Bros and corporate America. The only difference between the Supremes and common garden variety hookers is the Clowns don't have to stand on the street at night looking for customers and the hookers don't have to lie about their jobs.

And od, how exactly would believing that our justice system is being overwhelmed by a radical minority who want to turn this country into a draconian theocracy where civil rights are only held by those who It deems worthy denote an inability to read the Constitution...?

My belief is that the "radicals" are on the left. and they are expecting different results under the Constitution. People that demand/expect a result of a "European court answer" don't understand our system. This is clear. Europe and it's modern feudal system is a different case.

  12. by HatetheSwamp on July 4, 2024 5:20 am

    Yeah, OD.

How anyone could claim that it's the GOPs who are using the Judiciary as a political bludgeon amuses ole pb.

A Manhattan judge conducted a Stalin Show Trial that convicted the presumptive Republican presidential nominee of 34 felonies...

... and here's the truth about what common sense voters see: Trump's support increased and contributions to his campaign increased markedly.

The truth is that, in the Immunity Case, Trump argued for absolute presidential immunity and the EFFINBiden administration argued, essentially, for no immunity.

    Truth?: NEITHER SIDE WON!

The Court ruled that limited immunity exists. I don't get po. As far as I can tell, the Court made it clear that "candidate Trump" can be prosecuted for the J6 riot...

...perhaps, though, not before the election.

If you are a white woke progressive and are upset about the decision, you've only proved that this is not about the Constitution or justice. It's all about deranged TrumpHate. And, reelecting that "feckless dementia-ridden piece of crap."

  13. by Indy! on July 4, 2024 9:43 am

"Both" "sides" use the judiciary to avoid doing any real work. We've been mired in non-stop show trials that end in no results since Clinton got his first blowjob.
