I never liked Tulsi Gabbard even when she was ostensibly a Democrat.

Gabbard is part of the line up of speakers at the Faith & Freedom Coalition Conference along with other misfits and phonies like Josh Hawley, NC Lieutenant Governor Mark Robinson (a howling nutcase), Rep. Elise Stefanik, Dr. Ben Carson, Kari Lake and of course Donald Trump.

Donald Trump, while addressing a group of evangelicals at the Faith & Freedom Coalition in Washington, threw his support behind Louisiana’s new law mandating that the Ten Commandments be hung in every public classroom. “Who likes the Ten Commandments going up?” Trump asked, to raucous applause. He wondered aloud why anyone would want to oppose the law. “Has anybody read this?” He asked, adding “They don’t want it to go up.”

Theocrats in Louisiana and elsewhere like to claim that the Ten Commandments are somehow the origins of our American laws. Only three of the Ten Commandments have any relationship to prosecutable crimes in America and other modern democracies. They are the admonitions against murder, stealing and bearing false witness (perjury).

So, your point is that you are a theophobe? Big surprise there.

Hindu Tulsi Gabbard speaking to the FAITH AND FREEDOM CONFERENCE, June 21, 2024

She's right about our Founders believing that our rights come from God.

    And, she is a babe!

You expect her to say they DIDN'T come from gaw-duh at a "FAITH conference"?

    Peebs, sometimes you're (unintentionally) a riot. 😂

  5. by HatetheSwamp on June 22, 2024 4:33 pm

Maybe she's just read the Declaration of Independence. "Endowed by our Creator with certain unalienable rights," and all. Eh?

  6. by Indy! on June 22, 2024 7:40 pm

My creator(s) is (are) my mother and father.

  7. by HatetheSwamp on June 23, 2024 3:47 am

    Apparently, not Tulsi's, baha.

  8. by Indy! on June 23, 2024 10:58 am

This is America - she has a right to believe whatever she wants, pb. However, you obviously still have not figured out how politics and religion work together...

Every candidate says they believe - yet none of them actually go to church or pray unless they are on the campaign trail and the cameras are rolling.

Buy a clue. They're laughing at you, peebs - not with you.

You expect her to say they DIDN'T come from gaw-duh at a "FAITH conference"

As usual, you missed the point. It's the fact she was invited. Apparently they have a much more inclusive view of "faith" than you can imagine. And Tulsi has a much wider world view than you.

Curt- I think it's interesting how she's able to integrate her Hindu beliefs with the mainstream Christian values. I remember the left on this site supporting her up until she bailed on the dims because she couldn't be a good little german, although I can't remember how "involved" you were with that (in fairness).

    Bang on, OD.

It's the woke, white progressive crowd that practices intolerance. I caught some of the Faith and Freedom Conference. Tulsi, a Hindu, was, perhaps, the most enthusiastically received speaker.

And, on this Louisiana law, they're not posting Jesus's Beatitudes. They're posting a text from the Hebrew Torah, one which is embraced in Islam.

Y'know, I wish we could get our white, wokesters to drop the hate...

The problem with the ten commandments is not that it's one religion or another - it's that it's religion, period. Not everyone buys into your silly fairy tales, peebs. So not everyone should be forced to pay for religious dogma being placed into public schools or teachers wasting valuable LEARNING time to repeat a Mother Goose fairy tale every day. We're paying those teachers - we do not WANT them wasting our children's valuable learning time on nonsense.

You mean like gender identity politics? Or Critical Race Theory?

AND like I said before and you turned into a complete dik'ead (not po), I'm not in favour of this. I think they're poking the bear where they don't need to be. It's just (yet) another "instance" of over-reach of the government. This is something that is going to get nowhere and do nothing.

  13. by Indy! on June 24, 2024 11:06 am

I have never supported either of those things being taught in public school. So your argument - if you actually have one - doesn't apply to me, OD.

But,... in these United States, the Bill of Rights guarantees the free exercise of religion!!!!! It doesn't guarantee the avoidance of religion and the religious.

That was a chance that your adolescent name calling could have been avoided once again by just reading. Putting the gauntlet down and stopping. And as usual, it didn't work. Read fragile self-esteem and Cognitive Distortion. You just proved it once again.

    PB:
But,... in these United States, the Bill of Rights guarantees the free exercise of religion!!!!! It doesn't guarantee the avoidance of religion and the religious.

First off - it's not free. Taxpayers would have to pay for the copies of the commandments and the teachers who are teaching them. And the Constitution guarantees freedom of religion to everyone - not just you Fox watchers. That means those that don't believe do not get it pushed in their faces by their own government. Think of it this way - it's the same thing as you rightnutties complaining about Disney's "agenda" except my argument actually fits the Constitutional guarantees whereas you and OD's only fits Rupert Murdoch's nutty Fox agenda.

  17. by Indy! on June 24, 2024 2:37 pm

No idea what OD is whining about this time - only that there is absolutely no chance it's based on facts or reality so it doesn't matter anyway.

  18. by HatetheSwamp on June 24, 2024 3:06 pm

Thing is, Indy, after that last Supreme Court free exercise decision,... you are wrong.

  19. by Indy! on June 24, 2024 3:18 pm

No, the Clowns are wrong. That's what happens when you start letting cash determine your legislative agenda.

Shit! I forgot to put in on the second grade level. DANGIT!!!

  21. by Indy! on June 25, 2024 11:11 am

More likely you couldn't write it on a second grade level because you're still struggling to get thru first grade.

  22. by oldedude on June 25, 2024 8:30 pm
So you can't read at the first grade level either? dang!

  23. by Indy! on June 25, 2024 8:52 pm

I won my first grade spelling bee, dumbass.

Right... because my BFA degree came in a cereal box.

    No, a comic book.

  27. by oldedude on June 26, 2024 3:27 pm
The major cereal companies wouldn't advertise for your company (it's illegal to call it a "school"). They were afraid of lawsuits by taking the company's money for fear they'd get locked up in the fraud lawsuit.

  28. by Indy! on June 26, 2024 3:34 pm

If my BFA did come in a cereal box, it would still carry more intellectual heft than your "Best Cig Butt Collector 1967" award you got from the army.

  29. by oldedude on June 26, 2024 8:35 pm
Mmmmm. That must have been your "uncle Ernie" you speak so highly of. I wasn't in the AIR FORCE in 1967 The "artist" formally known as "princess" (TAFKAP).

You incited. deal with it or STFU.
