    I remember people saying that Biden could forgive student loan debt "with the stroke of a pen". Well, he tried that and, well, I'm not surprised at the ruling.

    It was way too much money for an EO. He needed to go through congress, but even with the last congress it wouldn't have worked.

    So politically, this is better for him. He gets to claim he "tried." Would anyone else have tried on a campaign promise? I'll give it a definite maybe. It wouldn't be out of the question.

    Exactly OD. Biden purposely went the route that was guaranteed to fail. He didn't WANT it to pass. When he wanted to hand out free "loans" big business (and members of Congress) never had to pay back - it sailed thru CONgress with no problem. Try to do something for the people who are really hurting and they make sure we get nothing. Like Biden promising $2000 and then mailing out $1400 - they get off on being cruel.

    I mostly agree with Indy!. The Doddering Old Fart claims to have been effective in passing bipartisan legislation. I think that this is where Indy is right. "That feckless dementia-ridden piece of crap" could have gone to Congress and worked to get legislation passed. He didn't even try, to the best of my knowledge.

    So, bang on, Indy!! Oh, and God bless the Queen, man.

    The effort is the telltale sign. He didn't push for the minimum wage when they were passing EVERYTHING in the wake of covid (I get my internet service for almost NOTHING now thanks to US taxpayers). He laughingly let the Senate parliamentarian - a position with absolutely no power at all - make the minimum wage decision. (See graphic below)

    He did absolutely nothing on Roe before or after the election.

    Same with student loans - once the election was over, he simply passed it down the line and forgot about it. No speeches supporting it, no photo ops with students, nothing.

    But when the Rs complained about $2000 checks? He went out of his way to cut them down to $1400.

    Like I said before, Congress has the purse strings. Even when pedojoe wanted money for Ukraine, he HAS to go through congress. That's under our Constitution, and in the laws. Many times it's just a formality. This time it wasn't. The executive branch has to present the money to congress and each house has to vote on it. Admittingly, many times the MSM never reports on it.

    It would really help for you to have a basic understanding of how the government works and is set up. Try the Tuttle Twins, or "the Constitution Rocks."
