Well, I watched emcee Jim Gaffigan and Trump give their remarks. My hot take is that Trump regrets attending more than Harris regrets skipping the dinner.
Jim Gaffigan's had some funny moments but admitted on stage that some jokes fell flat. At one point he seemed lost and remarked the teleprompter wasn't functioning.
Trump seemed subdued and low energy. He started off by complaining that he didn't know there would be teleprompter available. He then read his lines, head down, off a script on the lectern. He complained again about the lack of teleprompter. Unfortunately for him, one of the jokes he read (seemingly for the first time) was basically that Kamala Harris is so dumb, she needs a teleprompter to speak.
Some of Trump's jokes were pretty good. Some didn't make sense, but that might have been his delivery.
Trump used a scatological vulgarity while Cardinal Dolan was seated about three feet to his left. Some people, especially Catholics, might find that disrespectful.

Admit it - you made up that teleprompter stuff.
