Kamala says that yes, she worked at a McDonald's. She worked the fries. And then did cashier.

Trump says that it is a lie. She never worked at McDonald's.

So... Who is telling the truth?

Let's see a pay stub. A W2. An old tax return.

    Easy-peasy.

Did you see Stephanie Ruhle address it in the "interview." Kammy neither confirmed nor denied. She did cackle, though.

  2. by Donna on September 27, 2024 12:24 pm

Donald "bonespurs" Truump is desperately trying to erase the fact that unlike the spoiled rich kid he was, Kamala came from the middle class and worked jobs that typical middle class teens and young adults work - jobs that rich kids like Trump have never worked, which is hurting him electorally.

You can tell by looking at Trump that he's eaten tons upon tons of Big Macs though.

  3. by Indy! on September 27, 2024 1:00 pm

Think Mayor McCheese is worried Kamala might have made one of those super-sized fries he was gobbling down like 16yr-old pothead experiencing his first case of the munchies.

Peebs? LOL! Let's see one of YOUR pay stubs or W2s from the 1970s. 😂 Kamala and I are about the same age - McDonald's was my first "real" job where you got a paycheck and a W2 at the end of the year. You'd have to spend the rest of your life digging down thru the layers of Mount Trashmore (yes - that's what they call the local trash dump here) to get to my old W2s and paycheck stubs.

  4. by Curt_Anderson on September 27, 2024 1:01 pm
Are the Republicans pursuing a case of stolen valor? Many people falsely claimed to have served at McDonald’s.

  5. by Indy! on September 27, 2024 1:12 pm

From my vast storage bin of McDonald's first hand info (vintage 1970s), I can tell you that the way it used to work dovetails perfectly with Kamala's story. The dudes did the heavy lifting in the kitchen area - the buns, condiments and meat cooking (which goes tits up insane at every meal. The women (generally) took care of the fries which were off to one side and cashiers had easy access to them when necessary. That really was not a specific job position however - more like a place where they put newbies because it was an easy job to learn. The girls always ended up as cashiers for the most part because they were usually more trustworthy and paid attn in math class.

Politifact reveals the truth about Mckneepads' sketchy claim. Oy freakin friggin EFFINvey!

    ‘Fact-check’ on Harris’ work history
Harris has said on the campaign trail and in other public appearances that she worked at McDonald’s while she was a college student. (Trump has asserted on the campaign trail that Harris’ story is a fabrication, but he has not cited clear evidence to contradict her account.)

Harris’ campaign told PolitiFact that Harris worked the cash register and manned the fry and ice cream machines at a McDonald’s in Alameda, California, in the summer of 1983. Harris attended Howard University in Washington, D.C., from 1982 to 1986.

That'd be quite a drive to a part-time, minimum wage job, don't you think, po?

  7. by Indy! on September 28, 2024 10:09 am

Good fucking lord, peebs. It is quite a chore educating you wingnuts on the basics. Guess what? I went to school far away from Miami - and I also parked cars on Miami beach during the summer. Gee... How did Indy pull off this incredible magic trick? Going to college 100s of miles away and yet still working a part time job in the summer in another city?

    🤔

Gee.... maybe I was taking the summer semester off? Maybe I wanted to spend a little time with my family? Or they weren't offering any summer courses that I needed to get my degree? 🙄

Keep in mind, that was the only "business" she ever worked in. That's what she knows about business. Flipping fry orders. One of the things my kids had to do is to work "customer service" jobs. Micky d's is one of those. So is parking cars. I worked restaurants, and a ski shop. and had a paper route in junior high. I don't think you get "management" work in those. What you get is how to be a better customer. That people can be complete morons sometimes. How to work with people, that sort of thing. An essential tool for life. As far as management? Not so much, but that's not what the job entails. If she did, fine. If she didn't, fine. As far as people saying that gave her "business experience, that's just not true.

Trumpster was doing the opposite, as well as anyone being taught the family business. In that case, you're learning ordering, the books, hourly wages, time management, all that stuff that needs to be done to keep a "company" running.

My bet is that indy's small business was a pain to get started. And just from the little he's talked about it, his wasn't a "family" business, so there was a lot of mistakes and fly by the seat of your pants until you get the forms, taxes, and all of that. It's just something different. That said, THAT's business experience. If anyone has had a small business for over five years, I gotta give them props. It's hard to do, especially to keep a small business open.

  9. by Curt_Anderson on September 28, 2024 11:12 am
“Keep in mind, that was the only "business" she ever worked in. ” —OD

Running a presidential campaign is a business, a multi-million dollar business and Kamala is the CEO. Trump has run businesses…into bankruptcy three times. He also ran make-believe business on TV. His “legitimate” business have been charged with fraud.

  10. by oldedude on September 28, 2024 12:10 pm
It's very clear that if she's running the campaign, she's an epic failure, much like pedojoe's handlers were. The apparent infighting within the campaign is a disaster. Every clique thinks they're in charge, which makes nobody in charge. You've got obomber people, pedojoe people, and kammy people. It's the old "Who's on first" schtick that nobody's talking to the person next to them and there are small cliques that can't manage themselves because everyone is in it for themselves, much less work with anyone that isn't in their clique. That's why she's not talking to the media. Nobody can agree what she's supposed to say. That's where the management and organization piece comes in. Organizational skills require that people have a lane and aren't the master's of everything. That's one person. And that one person needs the authority to lead. It's essential for any business. She doesn't have it.

  11. by Curt_Anderson on September 28, 2024 1:02 pm
    OD,
I doubt that the Harris campaign has all the dysfunction and in-fighting you indicated. The measure of her campaign’s success is similar to Pepsi’s and Coke’s: How are they doing compared to the competition? By that measure her three month old campaign is doing great.

  12. by oldedude on September 28, 2024 2:00 pm
First, I disagree with your thinking that political and private company staffers do the same job. Political staffers come from a wide range of interns, GS 5, 7, and 9 positions (just used as a relative pay scale, they have their own non-GS scale). There are a few that are higher than that, which are assigned as a chain of command. "Throughout her career as a senator and then vice president, Kamala Harris developed a reputation as a difficult boss who struggles to retain staff due to the atmosphere of suspicion and disorder that tends to develop among her subordinates.

Data from the government watchdog group Open the Books — released Monday, as Harris consolidates her position as President Biden’s successor atop the Democratic ticket — makes clear just how extreme Harris’s personnel problem really is: 91.5 percent of the staff Harris began her vice presidential term with three years ago have since left.

“Kamala Harris is taking center stage in the national discussion these days. However, our analysis of her payroll as vice president shows an extraordinary churn,” Open the Books CEO Adam Andrzejewski said. “The stories out there are more than just anecdotes, they’re substantiated by the hard data available to us. Only a rare and loyal few staffers have persisted through her term as vice president.”

Only four of the initial 47 staffers Harris brought in with her in 2021 are still employed in her office, as of March 31, 2024, Open the Books found: Yael S. Belkind, assistant to the chief of staff, Nasrina Bargzie, former associate counsel and current deputy council, Oludayo O. Faderin, former associate director and current deputy director of west wing operations, and Olivia K. Hartman, former advance coordinator and current deputy director of scheduling.

Trumpster had 92% turnover in his four years, most of these coming in the first year. That is within .5% of Harris. Trumpster has actually talked about this, saying the dynamics going from board room to political staffer require a whole different skillset. It took him that first year to figure out what he needed in staffers. kammy has had 13 years of political staffing practice. It's not her first rodeo.

    OD,
I don't know if Harris's alleged reputation as a difficult boss is an example of sexism or not. I suspect that it might be.

But I do know that an extraordinary number of former Trump employees, staff and associates are supporting Kamala Harris and say Trump is "unfit". The reverse is not true.

Anyway, whether you think Harris is a good manager or not, it negates your claim that her working at McDonalds was her only business experience. Most of our presidents had managerial experience as politicians and few times as military leaders.

Trump's experience as the head and an heir to a privately held company is more appropriate for an autocracy than a democracy.

I always have trouble in trying to understand what people think business experience in politics matters. I spent 55 years in business, several kinds of business and apart from dealing face to face with the public and some accounting knowledge, it is a thousand miles away from the political experience I also had for a few years.

Politics deals with the theories of business and of many disciplines, not the nuts and bolts. Advisers can help relate that to effects and they will have studies, not business as such in their resumes.

In Canada, a lot of Conservatives try to ridicule Trudeau because he taught school for a few years. But, a school teacher in my opinion is far better suited to politics. He will have encountered a great number of parents and been made aware of their needs.

Trudeau, btw, also worked as a bouncer in a bar and a ski instructor. Harris's legal experience makes her uniquely qualified. Most lawyers are not although they fill the political ranks. Family law, and corporate law have little relation to the requirements of politics.

  15. by Indy! on September 28, 2024 6:45 pm
Well thanks for the props on the small business work, OD. I won't go into a lot of detail, but I'll say I was very driven and also a little lucky when I started my biz. IMHO, I think you need a little of both to be successful longterm. The other thing I had was a lot of experience at different companies - must have worked 50 different places between the time the first newspaper delivery job and starting my own business. Also help from friends who encouraged me to go on my own earlier than I was planning and gave me tips on how to bring it all together.

There's a lot to learn at McDonald's because they have everything locked down. Outside of maybe Apple, you won't find another company that has their eye on the ball the way McD does.

  16. by oldedude on September 28, 2024 7:30 pm
    OD,
I don't know if Harris's alleged reputation as a difficult boss is an example of sexism or not. I suspect that it might be.

You're a limousine liberal. You're going to call it some sort if "ism" just because that's what you do. Stories came out (even though they were squelched by YOUR media) that she was a fucking tyrant when she was an AG. Then kept going. Things like that are usually nullified if they're not true. There has been NOTHING to say they're not true. A demanding bitch that refused to listen to anyone that "might" disagree with her. My job for 30 of my 40 years was to look at fucked up governments and look for things like that. Your "political" "Experience" is zero. It's not just me saying talking about kammy. Why do you think she has a kuck? She may have two. It's people that worked for her since she was given any sort of "authority" which she's an authoritarian/Tyrannical boss. This is a continual issue. It's sad you can't/ won't see it. She's nothing more than a hill cliton. She'll crash and burn because her people don't trust each other, but they're too cowardly to turn on her. She doesn't trust them. That's built from something.

  17. by Indy! on September 28, 2024 8:52 pm

You just did the same thing to me because I didn't kiss Danica's ass. BTW - forgot it was only a 300 mile race she won. 😂

  18. by oldedude on September 29, 2024 12:53 am
Again. She was "just a woman." Your hatred towards women is very well defined. What also shocks me is that other women support you in your hatred of women. That seems to me to be odd... or maybe not. the support of you supporting your hatred of women maybe the "odd" piece of this. As usual, you use them, but never support them to your "whim" shows me they're support is "questionable" at best. Maybe I find they're hatred generational in some aspects, and not in things that matter.

    Dear God, Bill.

So in your universe, it is absolutely impossible for anyone attending college to stay there the entire time of their college career, non-stop, without ever taking a semester off to go back home at anytime during their entire college career and do anything else for a few months.

That isn't the universe that the rest of us live in I hate to tell you, Bill. You live in a really stupid universe.

    Fine. Got it.

Produce a W2. A tax return. Have McDonald’s produce records. Have a kid who worked with Mckneepads confirm her claim... her former manager.

Easy as pie!... unless it's a lie.

  26. by Donna on September 29, 2024 11:38 am

When I attended Georgia Tech, I alternated between attending school for one quarter and working in Baltimore for the next quarter.

What a ridiculous thing for Trump and his minions who can't think for themselves to make an issue out of, though, right? The truth is that Trump can't stand the fact that his opponent was raised in a middle class home and did middle class things like attend public school and work at McDonald's, while he was a spoiled rich kid who did none of those things. That's why he's trying desperately to erase Kamala's middle class background.

Curt, this is all just Hate and the rest of the Trump Cult recycling a bunch of flailing, desperately stupid, Obama's birth certificate tactics.

You've got to understand how pants-pissing terrified Trump's cult members like Hate are of their cult leader failing (though Hate would be eternally loath to admit it). Any nonsense they can think of is usable to them.

Nothing is too stupid for them to try to tie to Harris to at this point. And the stupidity is only going to get stupider.

Nothing I read and cited was sexist. Like the term "racist" that losers use because you believe that is a trigger word. I just consider the source. It would have actually meant something a few years ago with you, but now you don't have anything else factual to say. When someone is known for being unreasonable, won't listen to the staff and then blames them for not telling her something they did say, that's a horrible boss. Folks work hard to get jobs with politicians in congress and the administration. They do that to learn the ropes. The longer they stay, the better the resume. To leave the VP in the first year of their term looks really bad on a resume. To lose that many folks of a professional politician says a lot about the politician. They should know better how to treat people and have a far better handle of what's expected and what they need.

Men who have fragile egos are intimidated by smart, stong, accomplished women, which is why they have such a great need to diminish them. donna
Maybe. I've worked for years for very powerful women very successfully. I would agree that "delicate" "men" would have a lot of problems with it. And as I've talked about before many times. A lot of women I shoot with will outshoot me at distance. Do I get butthurt over it? No, because they're better shots at distance. I do get teased about it by one of the SS members, and I know the women, and it doesn't. Makes no matter to me, and I just go back to MLK Jr. I know their character and it's worth. Their gender, gender preference, race, creed, colour, national heritage, religion, etc. don't matter to me.

You know freakin friggin EFFINwell that, if a former employee was on the brink of being elected President, in these circumstances, McDonald’s would be doing all it can to prove that KK's telling the truth. Obviously, it cain't. What a silly porky pie.

This is your thread, po, and I couldn't care less about this but I'm hugely amused at how this turning out.

    Bahahahahahahahahahaha haha ha!

  34. by Curt_Anderson on September 29, 2024 4:50 pm
    HtS,
Corporate McDonalds doesn't maintain records of all the people who ever worked in their restaurants. Corporate doesn't even own the restaurants. Most McDonalds are franchises. Currently there are 35,085 franchised locations. Franchises change hands and go out of business like any other business. Employee records are misfiled, tossed and lost.

Btw, many McDonalds franchisees are Republicans. Maybe they don't want to help Harris.

I guess you will just have to prove your Kamala employment theories on your own.

  35. by oldedude on September 29, 2024 4:51 pm
Yeah, I'm the same way as you. If she did, I don't care. If she didn't, I don't care other than if this were trumpster, the sheep would be going nuts over it. I'm like you also in that I don't think she rates at all with a "powerful" woman. What I have learned after meeting some extremely powerful people, it's about how they carry themselves and their way about themselves. She's just not that person. I think the term dingbat comes to mind.

I didn't realize this was po's thread. I knew I wasn't wanting to write in it, and that would be the second reason. The first would be the subject matter.

The articles from brookings et.al. were far from sexist as I pointed out. They were stats. Period, end of story. "Only four of the original people are still there." Especially for a VP, that says a lot. For anyone wanting to get a resume builder in DC, working for the VP should be golden. But maybe not worth it.

Why do you think that Trump cares so much that he's flogging his lie about it? He doesn't have to backup or prove the lies he tells about people? It's up to them to prove him a liar? He can just pull any bullshit he wants to out of his ass and throw it at his victims and it's their mess to have to clean up?

Obviously, he feels threatened by her work history connection to the near entirety of American voters. A connection that is absolutely alien to to Trump. A connection he doesn't share with the vast majority of the country. He's jealous of it, he can't compete with it, so he must destroy it. He's a really fuckedup asshole you know. But predictable as hell.

So you are so reflexively wont to say...

...As a man with as misogynistic and pathetically fragile an ego as you are cursed with, Bill. We expected nothing different from you.

It's almost like your pitifully fragile, misogynistic ego seeks council from and feeds off of Donald Trump's pitifully fragile and misogynistic ego whenever it is in the spotlight. He says she's an idiot, so you have to say it. One of the easiest and nicest things about being in your cult for you is that you don't have to think for yourself.

And you know, it's not uncommon for a cult member to pattern themselves after their cult's leader.

Everyday normal stuff. People who fall for Trump's anrics can't be very intelligent.

  42. by Ponderer on September 29, 2024 7:44 pm

Hate doesn't understand any of all that.

  43. by oldedude on September 29, 2024 7:49 pm
Why do you think that Trump cares so much that he's flogging his lie about it?
Don't know. Don't care. Again. I thought curt put this together. It seems to be one of his that I don't usually answer to because it's always "does this question make me look like a bigger ass?" questions. I don't waste my time on those. I have better things to do with my life.

"Have you guys seen the Kamala commercial where she mentions the McD job? Is that why this thing is blowing up now?"

It's blowing up on SS because po started this thread. I monitor right-wing media regularly. No one there ever brings it up.

The question remains. What will matter to the small number of moderate and independent common sense voters. And, the way woke progressive Swampcultists, like po, continue to beat this drum, pb thinks they think it'll help.

My sense is that TT and KK's internal polls tell them that purple people see them as elitists. You saw the awful reception TT received at the Minnesota/Michael football game.

    It's like that.

"Everyday normal stuff. People who fall for Trump's anrics can't be very intelligent."

Ah, yes. Sanctimony! What would you be without it!!!!!?

  46. by oldedude on September 30, 2024 5:41 am
I'm like you. I haven't heard jack about it, which doesn't mean anything because I've been watching about an hour of total TV/ day in the past two weeks and I fast forward through commercials.

I guess I'm just so used to her lying about everything that I just expect it. If she's making an issue out of it, then if trumpster has something to say about it, it's her fault for opening herself up. That's the rule. If you bring it up, it's yours to own. kk brought up his National Guard time. It's fair game.

Here, like the commercial it's not you and I that brought it up. You opened it up, don't bitch about the subject. I guess I'm amazed at how trumpster lives rent free in people's heads here.

She (meaning the campaign) had to lie about every stand she's had since she got into congress in order to run. Everyone knows it. She's not a moderate. That's why she's being defended with such fervor on SS. She's one of "us" to the libs here. Every time the campaign lies about them, they're hated more. Just own who you are. The issue is that not enough voters believe in what the folks here believe to get them elected.

And kk being booed out of a football game is pretty funny. I mean, it's not NASCAR, there's a lot of people that watch college ball. People they're relying on to vote for them.

"I monitor right-wing media regularly. No one there ever brings it up." -Hate

Donald Trump himself brings it up, you blithering moron! He's bringing it up at his rallies. He's out there telling his willfully ignorant throngs of gullibles that when Kamala Harris says she worked at McDonald's, she is lying. He says it is a lie. He is declaring publicly that she never worked at McDonalds.

You're Mango Messiah is a lying asshole, Bill. You are shilling for an immorally shameless liar.

    "Ah, yes. Sanctimony!" -Hate

Bill, do you seriously believe that intelligent people are falling for and lapping up Donald Trump's flaming lies?

This election is really going to be something of an intelligence test for the whole country. Why are you so determined to fail it, Bill?

  48. by HatetheSwamp on September 30, 2024 7:11 am

"Donald Trump himself brings it up, you blithering moron! He's bringing it up at his rallies."

    po,

If I know you at all, I EFFINknow you don't watch Trump rallies. Keehee ha.

"Bill, do you seriously believe that intelligent people are falling for and lapping up Donald Trump's flaming lies?"

Clearly! Sanctimony runs deep in your household. Bahahahahahahahahahaha ha.

    Irrelevant obfuscation.

Of course I don't, you fuckingidiot. I see excerpts that make the news whenever he says something particularly moronic, incoherent, libelous, or blatantly and demonstrably false.

So, Fox News doesn't show you all those kinds of excerpts from his rallies? I am not surprised.

And perhaps you can explain how any intelligent person would ever willingly believe the bald-faced, demonstrable lies he vomits into the public discourse, Bill...

And perhaps you can explain how any intelligent person would ever willingly believe the bald-faced, demonstrable lies he vomits into the public discourse, Bill...

And yet you willingly believe the bald-faced, demonstrable lies pedojoe and kammy vomit into the public discourse not to mention the illegal and constitutional violations I've cited over a dozen times.

  51. by Ponderer on September 30, 2024 8:33 am

If you can't explain why you believe Trump's lies, you could have simply not responded, od. Instead of bringing attention to the fact that you can't explain why you believe every nonsensical, asinine lie he ever tells and yet still believe yourself to be intelligent.

And your lies about Harris and others are meaningless, olde dude. I don't waste my time on your lies.

  52. by HatetheSwamp on September 30, 2024 9:48 am

"So, Fox News doesn't show you all those kinds of excerpts from his rallies? I am not surprised."

Some individuals on Fox support Trump, some don't... in spite of what any version of your Rachel tells you.

Fox News itself ain't big on Trump rallies.

Re: "...perhaps you can explain how any intelligent person would ever willingly believe the bald-faced, demonstrable lies he vomits into the public discourse, Bill..."

I'll make you a deal. If you "explain how any intelligent person would ever willingly believe the bald-faced, demonstrable lies Ms Mckneepads vomits into the public discourse," I'll give thought to your question. You go first.

    Betchuwont. Keehee ha!

FOR FUCKSAKE, BILL!!! Can't you ever get at least one clue???

They ain't "big" on 'em because of all the stupid and asinine things he says during them!!! There's a whole series of videos of them cutting away from him right when he becomes entirely unhinged at some point in a rally they were covering live.

  54. by HatetheSwamp on September 30, 2024 3:04 pm

    po,

    Give us links.

I love how Curt and you regularly report what's said and done on Fox while claiming never to ever watch.

    SHOW US SOME EFFINLINKS!!! Bahaha.

  55. by Donna on September 30, 2024 4:55 pm

There are several commentators on YouTube that have shown clips of Fox News anchors cutting away from Trump speeches when he goes off the deep end.

Does anyone else get the feeling OD's (alleged) "master's degree" came from Trump "University"? And that's why he thinks he's "like a smart person"?

Nothing that fit in with the way you have chosen to reimagine reality.
