"For every complex problem, there's a solution that is simple, neat, and wrong." H.L. Mencken
Trump is a master at proposing simple solutions. For example, he sold many voters on the idea of solving the "problem" of immigration with a border wall that Mexico pays for.
As discussed elsewhere here, he touts tariffs as a panacea for the economy. Trump and his assistant, Igor Vance have simple-minded solutions to the high-cost of daycare.
Along with Elon Musk, Trump has promoted the idea of an "efficiency commission" in government. This is a variation on the old political boogeyman of "waste, fraud and abuse". We already have the Government Accountability Office and the Congressional Budget Office.
Is government spending perfect? No! So I want every person who never made a bad or unnecessary purchase and who never had to toss out any food that spoiled in the refrigerator to vote for Trump and his simple solutions.
Btw, Trump and the Project 2025 goons want to get rid of the apolitical civil service and replace public servants with sycophants loyal to Donald Trump. So don't count on competency and efficiency from them.
