This is good news. For all the political neophytes who didn't realize that RFK Jr. was more aligned with Trump than with the Democrats, (which I said last April, see link) this might give them the hint. That, even if Trump and RFK Jr. don't team up. Most of Kennedy's 3 or 4 percent of fans will desert him if he throws in with Trump.

(BBC)Robert F Kennedy Jr's running mate says the independent presidential candidate is considering joining forces with Donald Trump's campaign or staying in and forming a third party.

On a podcast released on Tuesday, Nicole Shanahan indicated the campaign may have reached a political crossroads and is debating next steps.

She said they are currently considering the two options to avoid the "risk" of a Kamala Harris presidency.

Before Biden's departure, the single-digit percent of people who told pollsters they liked Kennedy fell into these groups:
1. Double-haters who lean left
2. Double-haters who lean right
3. Anti-vaxxers
4. Conspiracy nuts
5. People who mistook RFK Jr. for his father.
6. People who don't want an octogenarian president

Kamala instantly won over group 6. I believe most of group 1 were and are those making an uninformed protest "vote" to pollsters about Gaza. It's uninformed because RFK is not especially sympathetic of Gazans. Most of these RFK Jr. supporters realize that Harris is their better option. Or they won't vote at all.

Group 5 will finally realize that RFK Jr. is not RFK, JFK or any legitimate Democrat. They will go to Harris.

That leaves groups 2, 3 and 4. Unlike on the Democrats' side, the same ol' Trump is still the GOP candidate. If they didn't like Trump before, what will change their minds?

That's my analysis. In about a week after Kennedy drops out, I predict that Trump's poll numbers will not improve. Check back then.

It's comical how hard this board works to tie candidates around my neck. I'll say it again - right now the ONLY reason I'm voting at all is to support the initiative on FLORIDA'S ballot to return a woman's right to choose to Floridian females. None of the candidates for president has won my vote (yet).

I'll let you know when that changes (maybe). 😉
