The report does not recommend specific articles of impeachment.

(ABC News)After nearly two years of House Republicans vowing to investigate President Joe Biden and his family's business dealings -- while repeatedly falling short in substantiating their most significant claims -- the House Judiciary, Oversight, and Ways and Means Committees on Monday released a nearly 300-page impeachment inquiry report filled with familiar allegations against the president, who has already announced he will not seek a second term.

The report, released on the first day of the Democratic National Convention and the morning of the day the president is slated to speak, rehashes many of the allegations Republicans previously made against President Biden while alleging that they have uncovered "impeachable conduct."

The reason the board GOPers are so against "lawfare" is because their party is so bad at it. 😃

  2. by Curt_Anderson on August 19, 2024 2:34 pm
House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., encouraged "all Americans to read this report." But besides thanking the committees for their work, Johnson didn’t signal there would be a vote on impeachment or imply that the House Republican leadership brass would entertain such a possibility.

That’s because, at this stage, a prospective vote to impeach President Biden would likely fail on the floor.

Why? It’s about the math. There are at least a dozen House Republicans who oppose impeachment. One senior House GOP leadership source characterized a vote now as "moot."

Fox is told Republicans soured further on impeachment when President Biden decided against seeking reelection. Plus, Mr. Biden only has five more months before the end of his term. Moreover, a vote on impeachment would put moderate Republicans from swing districts in a bind as the GOP tries to maintain its slim majority. Trotting out a vote on impeachment – just to have a vote on impeachment at this stage – would likely produce a loss on the floor. Democrats could then boomerang the failed impeachment vote on those vulnerable Republicans. Democrats would underscore how Republicans tried for more than a year to impeach President Biden. And it culminated in a failed vote on the floor.

So House reps are elected for 2 years - and they wasted a full year on an imaginary impeachment. The REAL "lawfare" (as Indy has always said) - is being committed on the American taxpayer. They're wasting our time, money and resources on petty party bickering when we have real issues to solve.

  4. by Curt_Anderson on August 19, 2024 2:52 pm
    Indy,
Only a year? Marjory Taylor Greene made a motion to impeach Biden in January of 2021? It seems like James Comer, Jim Jordan and other Republicans have spent years attempting to impeach Biden.

  5. by Indy! on August 19, 2024 2:53 pm

Could be longer... I wasn't paying attention. 😌

  6. by Curt_Anderson on August 19, 2024 4:33 pm
I have to laugh how for months our resident MAGA cultists have eagerly touted and fallen for every Comer or Jordan press release about Biden's "imminent" impeachment. I did warn them not get their hopes up.

Arist's rendering of MAGA reacting to impeachment inquiry.

Even today, OD is listing the imaginary crimes he thinks Biden committed. It would be funnier if OD "knew" and was right about Biden being guilty of criminal and treasonous acts and the House GOP was too incompetent to make the case.

Name me one president not named Jimmy Carter who didn't lie, cheat and steal his way to the presidency.

  8. by Curt_Anderson on August 19, 2024 5:16 pm
    Indy,
Obama, Biden, Clinton, LBJ, Kennedy, Truman, FDR...

I expect you will tell us how all of the above cheated, lied or stole their way into the White House.

  9. by Indy! on August 19, 2024 5:20 pm

At least make it a challenge.

  10. by Curt_Anderson on August 19, 2024 5:29 pm
    Ok, James K. Polk.

    Slave owner.

  12. by Curt_Anderson on August 19, 2024 6:27 pm
Owning slaves was legal then. How is that lying, cheating or stealing his way into the White House?

  13. by oldedude on August 19, 2024 8:03 pm
Just too help break this sausage fest up...

Hunter was thwarted regarding his trial for not paying $1.4MILLION in taxes in three years.

He's open to all of dad's dirt, along with the "family business." And his EX gets to be in the trial. And she hasn't been paid yet.....

Yes sir! girls and boys! come to see the fiasco! pedojr has to tell the feds where he got his ill-gotten gains!

  14. by oldedude on August 19, 2024 8:42 pm
Owning slaves was legal then. How is that lying, cheating or stealing his way into the White House?
And yet up until the moment you posted that, EVERY SLAVE OWNER was totally rebuked by you. Including Jefferson, Lee, Jackson, and the Northerners that owned other people.

  15. by Indy! on August 19, 2024 9:10 pm
I don't remember the full story, but I think he was splitting up slave families - or taking the kids of slaves and selling them to other people... something along those lines. That was frowned upon back then and he was worried it might affect his campaign. So he lied about it.

This is where Groucho drops the duck.

Bottom line: For many reasons, Joe's been put out to pasture.

    Rudely. And without care.

  18. by Indy! on August 20, 2024 12:13 pm

They probably told him they were going to give the nod to Kamala whether he dropped out or not.

  19. by oldedude on August 20, 2024 7:17 pm
You don't watch much news, do you? Pelosi actually admitted to being the lead assassin in this whole thing, with backup by the obombers and clitons.

  20. by Indy! on August 20, 2024 7:24 pm

I've already said on this board many times that I do not watch what you seem to believe is "news".

  21. by oldedude on August 21, 2024 3:58 am
You don't watch or see ANY news. And since you don't, you might not want to remark on it.

  22. by Indy! on August 21, 2024 10:54 am

Imagine that - I watch NO news - and yet I'm still better informed than you. 😌

  23. by oldedude on August 21, 2024 10:57 am
So why do I have to keep updating, princess? And not just once, but many, many times.

  24. by Indy! on August 21, 2024 11:03 am

Funny, I can't remember you ever "updating" me on anything except the advancement of your Alzheimers. But technically that is not an "update" so much as just as "observation" on my part.

PS: Already with the namecalling? As usual - I knew you would be the one who cracked (again). Were you even trying to be polite this time? 🤔

  25. by oldedude on August 21, 2024 2:36 pm
You call THAT namecalling? It just proves you ARE a princess. What you say in three paragraphs, I'll say in one or two sentences.

  26. by Indy! on August 21, 2024 3:15 pm

So more namecalling in the answer post to the one where I called you out for it. Third time you've failed to keep your word, proving (among other things) my previous point about you being a liar.

  27. by oldedude on August 21, 2024 7:00 pm
You never said you would change. When you don't say anything, you're not going to. It's your passive-aggressive personality.

  28. by Indy! on August 21, 2024 7:03 pm

So you didn't see the thread where we agreed to play nice again? That wasn't you posting under your handle?

  29. by oldedude on August 21, 2024 7:47 pm
obviously I didn't see you agree. And you only slowed down a bit, so I just thought you were continuing.

  30. by Indy! on August 21, 2024 10:24 pm

    🙄

Okay, so NOW we're starting - Thursday, Aug 23, 2024.

  31. by oldedude on August 22, 2024 1:19 pm
If you consider that "starting" you're too thin-skinned to carry any conversation with.

  32. by Indy! on August 22, 2024 4:38 pm

Everyone see this? OD chickening out after failing 4 times now. I get it OD - you can't live without being a dick and talking about child sex. You keep doing that - I'm going to just ignore you instead, how's that?

  33. by oldedude on August 22, 2024 5:20 pm
Please! Leave me the fuck alone princess!

  34. by oldedude on August 23, 2024 12:50 am
Okay princess, here goes just in the past week after this answer that I've given you before.
You started talking shit about all military just pickings up cigarette butts. I asked you to stop, you refused. I challenged you to a game of dozens. You didn't bother to look it up and then was a total bitch about the results. You got all butt hurt when I talked about your family (look up what the game is). That actually made it fun!

The second one. I cited how important that crime, immigration, and the border is to voters. You keep on lying about it because facts don't matter to you.

The last good one is that you don't read before you say anything, which is the main reason I don't read your posts without citations. and even then your conjecture is usually wrong.
RE: How could a $10M Egyptian cash withdrawal upend Trump's campaign?
A scuttled Justice Department investigation into alleged foreign election interference returns to complicate the 2024 presidential election.
You missed the part where the FBI dropped the case.
My bet is the dims will use it if he gets elected. Which is going to complicate keeping pedojoe cases that are much bigger. Or kammy can use it. Fair game either way. And it's Dead for now and unproven.
