    Nice, but this country is never getting anywhere if murky, inconsequential nonsense like "saving democracy" are going to be the policy "issues" of the campaign.

    There are a slew of new swing state polls out today. In every one of them Harris has made up ground. She leads in eight state polls on RCP, Trump leads in five and two are ties.

    It appears that North Carolina, Georgia, Nevada and Arizona will be contested states. Those are states that Trump needs to win but are gravy for Harris and the Democrats.

    Georgia has to be a harder state to win for Trump since Biden stepped down.

    Indy,
    Harris gave a stemwinder of a speech in Atlanta today. You can see by the crowd reaction that she will be formidable in Georgia. Incidentally, she's not making any sort of abstract argument about protecting and preserving democracy. She attacks Trump and says what she would do as president. Nothing too high-falutin. She is developing a medley of "hits" which the audience eagerly anticipates.

    So it looks like she may be making her VP pick public at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania. Which means she may be picking Shapiro. We're still hoping that she picks Walz.

    In the latest yougov-economist poll Kamala Harris leads Donald Trump 46 to 44. In the last yougov poll that included Joe Biden, Trump lead Biden 43 to 41. If you look at RCP you’ll see that Robert F Kennedy junior’s pull numbers are tanking. He should hang it up.

    If Kennedy folds - the entire nation still owes him a debt of gratitude for helping to get Biden out.

    Meanwhile Florida looks to be a swing state again, so I guess the power to pick the president once again falls into the hands of your old pal, Indy.
