"With Kamala you have to put up with a constant amount of soul-destroying criticism and also her own lack of confidence"

According to the Daily Mail, 67 staff members of the original 71 in her initial wave of hiring either quit or were fired. As far back as 2010 when she was the California Attorney General, Harris has been known to have a "toxic" workplace environment. Congressional sources told the outlet that Harris would berate staffers with expletive-laden tirades and frequently lashed out at subordinates. She earned an alleged reputation as a "soul-destroying" bully in the workplace.

California State University professor Barbara O'Connor said that if students interned for Harris they would frequently come back crying and feel like they "weren't valued" in the office when she was a government official in California. Working for her in the Senate after her win in 2017 was not all much different, according to the outlet. She had the ninth-highest turnover rate out of the 114 Senate offices in the years 2017 to 2020.

Witnesses recalled Harris cussing out Senate staffers who didn't even work for her and ordering them around in one instance outside the main Senate Judiciary Committee room, "Anyone who's staff, get the f*ck out of here!" she reportedly yelled.

In June 2021, Politico spoke to 22 people familiar with her VP office. All of them roundly said that the team had "low morale, porous lines of communication, and diminished trust among aides and senior officials."

"It's clear [with Harris] that you're not working with somebody who is willing to do the prep and the work," one ex-staffer said. "With Kamala you have to put up with a constant amount of soul-destroying criticism and also her own lack of confidence. So, you're constantly sort of propping up a bully and it's not really clear why."

pb has no doubt that fans of Curt's Holy Trinity and of po's metaphorical, and flesh and blood, Rachel have heard none of this. Seekers of truth knew this a looooooooong time ago.

Kammy does have the baggage of what she's said and done as a San Francisco liberal...

...AND it seems likely that GOPs'll soon be running ads proving that Kammy is a mean, nasty, just pain-bad person.

Gang,

This is what happens when your party is run by a corrupt smoke-filled room.

Dems have a candidate who ran in 020 but failed even to make it to the Iowa Caucuses. Good luck with that.

Clearly, po and Donna and Indy are smitten. But, moderate and independent common sense voters in purple states...

... I don't think so.

    HtS,
Are you sure you’re not supporting Kamala Harris? First you tell us that she opposes fracking and the filibuster, now you are disabusing people of the notion that a woman is too soft and weak to the commander-in-chief. Sounds like Kamala Harris is one tough cookie! Thanks for sharing.

  2. by Donna on July 28, 2024 8:50 am

So she's a tough boss. Isn't that what we want in a president?

Of course the MAGAs are going to pick apart everything about Kamala. That's just politics. Kamala should wear a tan pants suit just to see how they react.

  3. by oldedude on July 28, 2024 10:46 am
No.... She's a fucking bipolar sociopath. That's what the workers say. "bad bosses" are one thing. Many will stick around just to have that resume builder. These are folks that don't care about their resume, they just want out. They'll take any issues it creates on their resume later.

  4. by Donna on July 28, 2024 11:14 am

In America, women aren't allowed to be tough bosses. Or laugh.

Nice try, though, trying to paint Kamala as a tyrannical boss. That's done to all powerful and accomplished women in America. That's never done to men. Sadly, even some women kowtow to misogyny.

You guys are just flailing. No one is going to refuse to vote for Harris because a few former emloyees complained about her being a tough boss. LOL!

  5. by Curt_Anderson on July 28, 2024 11:22 am
    Donna,
Did you see Governor Tim Waltz on CNN this morning? He mentioned something which I happened to mention yesterday or the day before. While HtS and others of the MAGA persuasion like to talk about Kamala Harris’s laugh, Governor Waltz noted what is really weird is that Trump doesn’t laugh except possibly to laugh at someone.

  6. by Indy! on July 28, 2024 11:37 am

Is this a serious thread? The TRUMP SUPPORTERS are complaining about KAMALA being a sociopath boss? That's hilarious. 😂

  7. by Donna on July 28, 2024 11:38 am

Yeah, I saw Tim Walz say that, and he was spot on. Another example of a MAGA I've never seen smile is the Fox News show host Laura Ingraham.
Wait - I take that back. I think I remember her once smirking at scenes of dead Palestinian children being pulled from the rubble of a hospital Netanyahu ordered to be bombed.

  8. by Indy! on July 28, 2024 11:52 am

This is the "outrage' that worries the Trumpers like pb...

"She had the ninth-highest turnover rate out of the 114 Senate offices in the years 2017 to 2020.

That's one of those non-stats like they use in baseball... "The Mets have never won a game on a Tuesday in July when the temperature is over 95 degrees... can they ever get over that hump???!!!!"

But Trump being convicted of 32 felonies and probably being a foreign agent for Russia (and other enemies of the U.S.) is okay fine and dandy by them.

  9. by oldedude on July 28, 2024 12:09 pm
Is this a serious thread? The TRUMP SUPPORTERS are complaining about KAMALA being a sociopath boss?
Well, it applies to her. And you. Except we can add narcissist to the list.

  10. by Indy! on July 28, 2024 12:12 pm

I work for myself and have no employees and I hate to tell you Old Dud, but being a narcissist does not qualify you to identify other narcissists. You're also not very good at it since you are supporting one for president.

  11. by Donna on July 28, 2024 12:12 pm

Nice analogy. When the MAGAs go after someone, it's never substantive, but they always belueve that what they've got is golden. Then after normal Americabs enjoy a hearty laugh, they retreat back to their smoke-filled rooms (fart-filled when Donald is present) and cook up another future failed scheme to make Kamala seem like the scarlet whore of Babylon.

  12. by Indy! on July 28, 2024 12:45 pm

They should be far out front right now, instead they lost both the convention bump and the assassination bump. Trump is going to be the first guy running for prez who got shot and didn't garner a single sympathy vote from it. 😂

  13. by Ponderer on July 28, 2024 1:22 pm

"WAAAAAH WAAAAH WAHHHH WAHHH... She's a meanie! WAAAAH WAAAAAAAAAAH...!"

Yeah yeah we heard all this falderal when she was running in the primaries.

You know, it occurred to me that nothing she's being accused of is so bad that she ended up being a convicted felon out of it...

  14. by Curt_Anderson on July 28, 2024 1:36 pm
    From HtS's OP:

Witnesses recalled Harris cussing out Senate staffers who didn't even work for her and ordering them around in one instance outside the main Senate Judiciary Committee room, "Anyone who's staff, get the f*ck out of here!" she reportedly yelled.

I don't know exactly what this scenario looked like, but it's quite possible that the conversation was confidential in nature and she was directing her ire toward Senate staffers who didn't work for her, aka Republican staffers.

It sure sounds like the usual Republican snowflakes 😢 whose souls are destroyed by some run-of-the-mill cursing.

  15. by Ponderer on July 28, 2024 1:39 pm

Curt, Republicans are the biggest snowflakes on the planet.

  16. by Indy! on July 28, 2024 2:17 pm

  17. by HatetheSwamp on July 29, 2024 3:50 am

I don't know exactly what this scenario looked like, but it's quite possible that the conversation was confidential in nature...

    I agree, Curt. Absolutely.

It's amazed me how little leaking about Biden gets to the public but inside stuff about Kammy has already begun to appear.

This stuff has been in public discourse in the right-wing media,... which you pretend away. While this reporting came from a right-wing source, is being talked about. Your Holy Trinity and po's metaphorical Rachel can't keep these reports quiet now that Kammy's heading the ticket.

    KAMMY IS A DUMPSTER FIRE.

This is what happens when the smoke-filled room selects your candidate so late in the game. Had there been an honest primary, like in 91 and 08, a bubba Clinton or Barack Obama would have emerged and Trump'd be waaaaaaaaaay behind in the polls. But, now, Dems are stuck with a candidate whom the voters who settle the election in purple states can't accept.

  18. by Ponderer on July 29, 2024 6:31 am

"KAMMY IS A DUMPSTER FIRE." -Hate

It certainly serves your purposes to ridiculously paint her as such. Your abject and obsequious devotion to Trump leaves you with no other way to envision her. It's how your messiah wants her described, so that is your truth.

But it's okay. We get it. Your faithful fidelity to your cult and its Leader requires nothing less from you than a totally hyperbolic illustration of his enemies. Reality be damned. We get it.

    And we forgive you.

Hate and olde dude are so totally gonna vote for Trump. It's so funny how they say they are not going to.

  19. by Ponderer on July 29, 2024 6:47 am

And I think that it's absolutely hysterical how Hate thinks bringing up all this stuff we already heard long ago about her like it's all some sort of shocking, campaign-ending revelation.

By the way. All these former employees who thought she was horrible to work for... How many of them had felony indictments and even convictions against them for the work they did for her...?

    po,

I despise Trump. But, that doesn't make Kammy any less a dumpster fire.

I won't be voting for either. You know that's an option in this nation that provides "liberty and justice for all."

I know that, when GOPs beat that fracking drum in Pennsylvania, even with the Dem ballot harvesting and ballot curing and the diddling with the chain of custody of mail-in ballots, Kammy's got serious baggage.

And, her advocacy for the confiscation of personal weapons. And, the canceling of every citizen's private health insurance? No doubt, that makes you purr.

But, moderate and independent common sense voters? Noop.

    1. You do know that your own thinking is outside the political mainstream, eh?
    2. Do you understand that moderate and independent common sense voters don't groove on lawfare or SwampDem Show Trials?

    po,

The people whom I call moderate and independent common sense voters are the same people Donna calls "low information voters." Chat with Donna about them. Most, I guess, don't know about any of the things on your list. Double check that over breakfast.

    *****

We've been over this many times over the years. I haven't ever exercised political advocacy on SS. You support Kammy. Cool. But, ole pb has never advocated for a candidate. Clearly, in 020, I made no secret of the fact that I felt compelled to vote for Trump because Joe was already a demented wreck. But, I never supported him in my posts.

As far as Kammy is concerned, my point has been that her policy positions will be too much for the people who make up the majority in purple states. She's waaaaaaay too radical. And, GOPs are already bringing the receipts... as the Dave McCormick ad makes plain.

  29. by Donna on July 29, 2024 10:23 am

Most of the country is low-info voters. Low-info doesn't mean stupid, it means exactly what it says. Americans are low-info oi other things to, like science.

  30. by HatetheSwamp on July 29, 2024 10:31 am

So, Donna, how informed would you imagine most people are on po's Trump list of shame?

My moderate and independent common sense voters get almost all of their news from checking out weather report on the 6:00 news. From what I can tell, GOPs are bringing the receipts on Kammy for that viewing audience.

  31. by Donna on July 29, 2024 10:32 am

"The massacre this weekend of 12 children playing football in a Hezbollah missile attack is a heartbreaking reminder of why we should be doing everything possible to support Israel. The Iranian-made rocket that exploded in Majdal Shams was one of over 150,000 missiles supplied by Tehran to its terrorist army in Lebanon. Since the October 7 attacks by Hamas, Hezbollah has been firing missiles and drones into northern Israel almost daily.

Lebanon and Gaza are the two most active arenas of a seven-front war, armed and directed from Tehran and intended to strangle Israel. I was in Tel Aviv a few days ago when a drone launched by Iran’s Houthi proxies in Yemen exploded in the city, killing one and injuring others. I was in Jerusalem in April when hundreds of missiles and drones were fired at that city and other locations in Israel by Iran itself.

The RAF, with counterparts from the US, France and Arab countries, helped defend against that bombardment. Although Israel has strong armed forces, it is not all-powerful and relies heavily on assistance from allies. But right now its most important backer, the US, is withholding supplies of some vital munitions, a matter Benjamin Netanyahu spoke of in his address to the US Congress last week. He echoed Churchill’s appeal to America in the Second World War: 'Give us the tools faster and we will finish the job faster.'"

    ***

Count on it: Kamala will buckle to pressure from Israel. And that will cost her votes.

    Donna,

It seems to me that Kammy and you share very similar worldviews.

She seems to me to be a, FROM MY POINT OF VIEW, JewHater. It will be hard for her to switch positions. And,...

...if she does, how much support will she lose? IMO?, a lot.
