    No highlights. Nothing but lowlights. I wouldn't have made it through her entire asininity without mooning her on the TV screen.

    Seriously, Curt. If you saw five minutes, you saw enough.

    What a piece of work, eh? Boy she had that affected tremolo in her near-sobbing "serious voice" down pat! The timing of her dramatic sighs, deep breaths, and choking up was exquisitely comedic! Swiss watch perfect!


    She made me wonder if "Senator MAGA Barbie" was a character that was cut from the final movie. Because this thing played like she was simply rehashing the lines she read auditioning for that part.

    The NY Times seems to share your take on her performance:

    Ms. Britt, 42, delivered an uneven speech, toggling between a wide, often strained smile and a furrowed brow paired with a fierce glare as she delivered ominous warnings about illegal immigration.

    She spoke from the kitchen table at her home in Montgomery, Ala., an unusual setting aimed at underscoring her argument that Mr. Biden represents a threat to prosperity for American families. But the backdrop seemed to confuse viewers on social media, where Ms. Britt was mocked by some for using a dramatic, breathy voice to deliver critiques of the president.


    The Republicans have given us many comical rebuttal speeches. Who can forget Gov. Bobby Jindal swishing up to the podium? Or Marco Rubio's water gulping as if he were just rescued from a week in the desert?

    Everyone remembers that happening. But no one remembers Bobby Jindal anymore. The same thing is gonna happen with this drama queen. No one is gonna remember her or anything she said last night either.


    And so far this morning, it sounds like a lot of Trump Party members want to forget what she said already...


    MAGA fans revolt after Trump praises Katie Britt's 'breathlessly weird' SOTU response

    Donald Trump praised the State of the Union Republican Party response given by Sen. Katie Britt (R-AL) and he may be alone in his opinion that she was "GREAT," with his fans on Truth Social pitching a fit about a kitchen talk that one GOP operative admitted was "...one of our biggest disasters ever.”

    While X was flooded with comments, many comparing her "deeply weird" speech to a Saturday Night Live skit, the former president seemed to be impressed.

    On Truth Social, he wrote, "Katie Britt was a GREAT contrast to an Angry, and obviously very Disturbed, 'President.' She was compassionate and caring, especially concerning Women and Women’s Issues. Her conversation on Migrant Crime was powerful and insightful. Great job Katie!"

    Supporters of the former president who responded to his post, could not have disagreed more with one writing, "Totally disagree. Didn’t need a bedtime story. We should have called out the lyes (sic), explained the bs bills, and hit hard that the border could have been closed by an executive order. Republican rebuttal sucked."

    "It was actually pretty embarrassing. Her speech was okay. But her delivery was terrible," another added.

    Truth Social commenter Maddy Fox fired back at Trump, writing, "I thought she was horrible. The affect was terrible. She sounded phony and insincere. Didn’t know whether she was laughing or crying about inflation , the border. It was a ridiculous response The Republicans will never learn."

    "Gimme a break! She belongs reading books to children in a daycare! She was a terrible choice! Yawn," a user named "Grifter Spy" wrote.

    Jake Roxen added, "She was the opposite of why people like and support you. She wasn’t authentic, and she talked in a manner as if she thought it would tug at our heart strings. Putting too much emphasis on trying to emotionally manipulate the viewers rather than just speaking off the cuff facts. My wife and I already don’t trust her, and this was many people’s first impression of her."

    "She seemed a bit psycho, she SMILED the whole time talking about horrible things. That's crazy," Bill DaWall commented to which Cathy Meehan agreed and added, "Exactly! I kept telling my husband.. wtf is she smiling? Quit acting.. she was not a good choice. It was like a miss America contest...fake af!"

    Another added, "With respect Sir, she was breathlessly weird. I felt her over-the-top dramatic presentation was spectacularly offputting."

    Whoa...

    Here's a thought. Could it be possible that Britt's speech last night was entirely produced using Artificial Intelligence...? We all know how AI doesn't seem to nail how a human being actually talks and acts yet.

    I think there's a more than fair chance that what we saw last night was an AI creation. It would explain a lot.

    Regarding your comment #9, I watched a bit more of her speech. In my opinion, there was a lot of artificial, but not a lot of intelligence.

    For nearly 50 years Saturday Night Live has attempted with varying degrees of success to monitor the zeitgeist of America. It will be interesting to see if SNL parodies either Biden or Britt’s speech.

    How this'll play ultimately is to be determined, IMO... GOPs need suburban women in Pennsylvania and Georgia and Michigan, et.al..

    SNL didn't disappoint. I was a twofer cold open. A little bit of Biden's SoTU followed by Scarlett Johansson's version of Katie Britt, which was a barely an exaggeration of the real thing.
