Currently, Trump's nearly even money. The Doddering Old Fool? 5/2.

And, the bookies factor in ballot harvesting, ballot curing and messing with the chain of custody of mail-in ballots.

Donald Trump 11/10
Joe Biden 5/2
Michelle Obama 9/1
Gavin Newsom 16/1
Kamala Harris 18/1
Nikki Haley 18/1
Robert Kennedy Jr. 20/1
Gretchen Whitmer 66/1
Dean Phillips 80/1
All Other Candidates listed at 100/1 or higher

These betting odds are so unserious and uninformed. Gretchen Whitmer for example is constitutionally prohibited from being president. Can I take their 66/1 odds and bet against them?

  2. by HatetheSwamp on March 6, 2024 11:43 am

    Why is Whitmer prohibited?

FYI, I followed Vegas bookies in 020. They had "that feckless dementia-ridden piece of crap" as the favorite.

I guess she's not. I was thinking of another Michigan governor who was born in Canada.

    Nevertheless, the odds are looooooooong.

Bookies are not making odds based on the likelihood of something happening or not - they are making the odds based on how the money is being bet. So if less people are betting on Trump - they make the payoff bigger to get more people to bet on him (and vice versa). They couldn't care less who wins - they just want you to bet on it.

But, Indy, don't you think the fact that people are putting their money down against the Doddering Old Fool suggests that they are planning to vote against the ol fool?
