Judge Sets Trial Date in Trump’s Manhattan Criminal Case
Ruling that the case against Donald J. Trump can proceed, Justice Juan M. Merchan said he planned to begin the trial on March 25.

The judge, Juan M. Merchan, announced the decision at a hearing in a Lower Manhattan courtroom as Mr. Trump looked on from the defense table. The former president’s lawyers objected to the judge’s decision for jury selection to begin on March 25, noting that the six-week trial would conflict with Mr. Trump’s presidential campaign.

One of the former president’s lawyers, Todd Blanche, called the schedule “unfathomable,” arguing that, “We are in the middle of primary season,” and claiming that the trial would overlap with dozens of Republican primaries and caucuses.

Starting in 2019, Trump's legal team used multiple maneuvers to hinder, block or delay the trial, including arguing unsuccessfully before the Supreme Court in two separate occasions.

(Sung to the tune of Row Row Row Your Boat), baha.

    Trump Trump Trump is bad.
    Nasty things Trump did.
    Carefully carefully do we watch.
    Nuthin will be hid.

You simply cannot admit that Putin ally Donald Trump is a shameless hypocrite.

Trump should be welcoming his trials in the middle of the campaign - more free TV time. The same thing that allowed him to get elected in 2016. I've been checking in on the (allegedly) "liberal" "news" channels a couple minutes here and there and every time without fail they're talking about that bad guy Trump. This in spite of the fact that they know their billions of dollars of free air time got him elected the first time.

Recognize the pattern - they know what they're doing.

I don't think they can help themselves. If Trump loses, CNN may not survive to 028.

    Indy,
Donald Trump's "free airtime" on television might not be so free today. 😎

"Verdict expected Friday in Trump's $370 million civil fraud trial" Add to that Trump's legal bills.

  7. by HatetheSwamp on February 16, 2024 12:27 pm

    $359,600,000.

    Persecution. Not prosecution.

    Jonathan Turley, "Confiscatory."

This will not stand but it will make Trump appear to be a sympathetic figure...

...and, only an hour or so after the Doddering Old Fool mumbled, sputtered and stammered his way through that terrible statement on the death of Alexei Navalny.

It probably will take years and at least one reduction of the penalty before Trump pays a dime, Curt. Meanwhile he's on tv all the time picking up votes.

    Recognize the pattern.

Indy, even if Trump appeals, which he will no doubt do, he still has to come up with $350+ million plus the $80+ million for E Jean and/or collateral the put that into some sort of court escrow.

I agree with indy. Why this is a shock to anyone that may almost follow any of the trumpster stuff is beyond me. This is a known quantity.

I'm going to start calling this "curt's daily kvetch." Not really worth reading, totally expected, and ALWAYS TDS.

I'm going to start calling this "curt's daily kvetch." Not really worth reading, totally expected, and ALWAYS TDS.

    Baha. Bang on. Keehee.

I think that the lesson from the Fani Willis fiasco is that the woke TDS crowd can't behave in this corrupt way, in a world where there's bipartisanship, integrity and justice.

These judgments against Trump are a hoot... and that the practitioners of deranged TrumpHate take them seriously is an EFFINdoublehoot! Baha
