After MTG scared the **** out of pedojr and his lawyers, they "offer" a "solution." (Que up "I saw the light!) 🤔 It just seems "interesting" to me this happened so quickly... Maybe it's that pedojr is going to be the victim in jail? Maybe it'll be a "sport" killing to the highest bidders.

A big question of mine is that he's done everything trumpster has, but we haven't heard c**p from the sheep about this being an injustice. I'm anxious to see what else he'll do to stall.

    OD,
You realize, of course, that Hunter Biden can respond to every question with “ as Donald Trump did 400 times, I invoke my fifth amendment rights”?

  2. by oldedude on January 12, 2024 10:11 am
Are you going to say the same thing you did in the trumpster inquiry? "If he's using the 5th, he's guilty! guilty! guilty!"
Or are you going to be your good little german self?

  3. by HatetheSwamp on January 12, 2024 10:21 am

    Curt,

    Answer OD's question...if you don't mind.

And, Curt. Try to, as po'd say, EFFIN, as isle'd say, UNDERSTAND: OD is all in favor of citizens exercising the liberties guaranteed them by the Bill of Rights. You, and po and isle protest citizens living in freedom.

"Liberty and justice for all," BABY!

Trump was the one who said only guilty people plead the Fifth.

  5. by oldedude on January 12, 2024 10:46 am
How does that make a difference?

  6. by oldedude on January 12, 2024 10:57 am
    And you didn't? Really?

And if/when pedojr does, the trumpsters can say the exact same thing you did. And accuse him just as bad as you did. See? This is what happens when you actually are so dug in to only one facet that you don't care about the little things. Like our justice system.

Interesting article by pb's Legal Goober #3 suggesting that it'd be better for "that feckless dementia-ridden piece of crap" for Hunter to be found in Contempt of Congress than to take the Fifth repeatedly.

    And, that's a good point.

Hunter is facing trial on two felony criminal indictments and has other potential criminal jeopardy (although it’s really only theoretical because Biden Justice Department special counsel David Weiss has unmistakably signaled that he has no intention of indicting Hunter on crimes that could implicate the president). Abbe Lowell is a good lawyer, but it would take a merely competent lawyer to explain to a client (especially one who, like Hunter, is a lawyer) that any testimony to the committee could be used against him in the criminal cases. Republicans on the committee are undoubtedly poised to ask questions that would force Hunter to either admit guilt or (potentially) lie about the facts underlying the two criminal cases. Hunter is not going to do that; under the Fifth Amendment privilege against self-incrimination, he would refuse to answer...

...if Hunter is determined to avoid taking the Fifth, he must risk being held in contempt of Congress and potentially being prosecuted criminally.

Rock and an EFFIN hard place, eh?

If I recall correctly, wasn't Hunter initially offered his choice of either a public or private hearing, and when he chose a public hearing, they said, Oooh...! Um....... Yeah no. It's going to be a private hearing. Or something to that affect?

And I love how these Congressional Republicans don't even know what order things need to be done in. Classic.

Republicans are all about getting themselves into positions. Not so much on the doing the actual job part of the positions though. Or even having qualified experience for the positions. They are mostly just winging everything they do 95% or so of the time.

    po,

I don't recall that, but, I'm a geezer. What I do recall is some HouesDems making that claim.

If you can provide a James Comer video, we'd all be elucidated...thanks.

And I love how these Congressional Republicans don't even know what order things need to be done in. Classic.

po, in addition to clerking at the Supreme Court, you were also a congressional intern?

We, here at SS, are sooooooo EFFINblessed.

"It just seems "interesting" to me this happened so quickly..." -olde dude

Well, these things actually can move right along when one of the parties isn't trying to fuckup the whole thing every step of the way while constantly appealing anytime somebody as much as wipes their nose a way he doesn't like in order to delay it all for as long as is imaginatively possible.

Things can actually be worked out in just and civil ways rather quickly when you don't have one of those kinda guys involved. Not a big deal really.

But I guess if you find that interesting, you find that interesting.

OR they knew that pedojr would be taken to jail and be someone's sweetheart for the duration.😘

Yeah. I hadn't thought of that. That's a real good point, od. That's probably what happened. Odds are, eh? Yeah I think you nailed it!
