Hamas spokesperson Ghazi Hamad said Israel's existence "was illogical" and said the terror group will repeat its attacks on the Jewish nation as it did on October 7. He said the group was not "ashamed" of doing so.

In an interview with Lebanese TV channel LBC on October 24, which was translated and published on Wednesday by the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI), Ghazi Hamad, a Hamas spokesperson said, "We are not ashamed to say this with full force. We must teach Israel a lesson and we will do this again and again."

He said Israel is a country that "has no place on our land and said Palestinians were "victims of occupation". He also called for "the occupation to end".

When asked whether that meant the annihilation of Israel, he replied, "Yes, of course."

"We must remove that country because it constitutes a security, military and political catastrophe to the Arab and Islamic nations and must be finished," he said.

The existence of Israel is illogical. The existence of Israel is what causes all that pain, blood, and tears. It is Israel, not us. We are the victims of the occupation. Period. Therefore, nobody should blame us for the things we do. On October 7, October 10, October 1,000,000 -- everything we do is justified," Hamad said.

Recently, Hamad abruptly ended an interview conducted by a reporter from the British news network BBC and walked out when he was repeatedly asked to justify the slaughtering of civilians by Hamas when it attacked Israel.

Oy freakin vey!

So,...on SS, three of us, i.e., OD and pb and DONNA, have stated specifically, that we are opposed to all of the evil committed by anyone.

Among we three, OD and pb...pb thinks... essentially agree on our take on how to understand the evil. Donna, it seems, has a distinctly different view.

So, to Donna...and to anyone who takes the same view or thinks they understand what Donna believes:

Since you oppose all of the evil, based on what Hamas did and continues to say, what's your idea about how to move forward in mitigating the horror?

The worst part of the systematic and ritualistic murders of Jews is that this has been planned since (just a guess) 9/11+. This piece is something Americans can't understand. Westerners think in a matter of nanoseconds. The Middle East thinks in terms of decades and generations.

These people have been waiting for the Anti-Christ to come back and ensuring it will be as destructive as al Quaran says. They will murder their own children to make this happen. (reference my prior videos/citations on the "schools" in Gaza).

In western society/culture we usually condemn doomsday cults. Why aren't we condemning these? All of a sudden, people have jumped on the homer bandwagon and started hating (to the point of murdering) Jews. The sheep say they want peace, but only if the Jews are annihilated from the earth. That seems to be counterproductive to me. They only bleat what the leftist media will bleat to them. And so little of it is true.

When the hamas "leader" says there will be more al Aqsa attacks against Israel. Did you know that al Aqsa is the mosque built on a Jewish Temple I referred to earlier? They weren't there first. They are millennia newer than the Jews, and 300 years after Christianity.

The "attack" for al Aqsa is meant in a global perspective. We are all north Americans. They know they must murder the Americans (specifically) and non-"twelvers" to get what they want. When they say "convert by the edge of the sword" they threaten to cut your head off, you submit (and repeat the words) then they kill you by slicing your head off. Which takes a couple of minutes to do and you're alive through most of it).

    OD,
As you know "from the river to the sea" is a political slogan of Palestinian nationalism. The State of Israel is between that river and sea. Palestinians want the Israelis gone. Nothing subtle about that.

Given that the October 7th Massacre resulted in 1,400 Israelis being killed, 200 kidnapped and many injured by Hamas, Israel has a right to respond militarily. Any nation that could, would respond to such a horrific attack.

However, Israel's response needs to be more surgical in attacking the Hamas perpetrators and destroying the Hamas terrorism infrastructure which of course includes their network of tunnels. It is counterproductive (not mention a moral abomination) to indiscriminately kill thousands of Gazan citizens including women and children.

I get that there will always be "collateral damage" in a war, but Israel needs to keep it to a minimum.

  3. by oldedude on November 2, 2023 9:47 pm
I'm not really sure what you mean by "more surgical."

Having been in that position, there is NOTHING perfect that the sheep will approve. I believe they have done the absolute best (and exceeded my expectations) at reacting to this that could have been. I was ready for triple the number of civilians dying in Gaza from Israeli strikes. Easily. Israel has had missile strikes ever since 10/7. They could have carpet bombed Gaza. I wouldn't have felt bad if that happened. The fact is; they didn't.

"Assuming" your son would be one of those going house to house looking for shitheads. Getting ambushed by shitheads, murdered then having their bodies abused is okay? The ratio of going into an urban area, you need a 10:1 ratio to not lose 30%- 50% of your people. You're fighting literally metre by metre through the entire town. Except now, ground you covered isn't covered once you move 20 metres from it. This because of the tunnels of the people you are supporting.

I'm a tier One asset. They spent about a half million dollars just to get me through my training to get tabbed. Israelis are no different. If you want top tier folks, then pay for them. Otherwise, you get what you get. We have our folks in the area, working with the best in the world. I think you're petty and expecting far too much in an extremely inaccurate wishlist.

Again. The Israelis have been exceptionally conservative in their reaction. Period. You want zero civilian deaths? Climb on your rainbow coloured unicorn and do that.

And of course, you missed the entire point of my post.
You need to look closer to home. YOU are the secondary target of Radical Islam. You're a kāfir, a blasphemer (meaning you have no God and are therefore a vile scum on the earth). They also use this term for others that are blasphemous to the religion, but that's pretty much the decision of murdering you.

  4. by Curt_Anderson on November 2, 2023 10:04 pm
What do I mean by "surgical"? I mean be more precise in Israel's targeting.

For example, Israel has told civilians in the northern Gaza Strip, including residents of Gaza City, to move to the south of the enclave, saying it will be safer there. However, Israeli warplanes have continued to hit sites in southern Gaza.

"You want zero civilian deaths?" --OD

Of course I want zero civilian deaths. Any decent person should too. As I stated above in my remarks about "collateral damage", I don't expect zero civilian deaths.

curt- I guess my remark was more of a stunned thought. I think the Israelis have been extremely surgical about their attacks. They've responded to the continued onslaught of Iranian missiles that have continued since the attack. Most of the Israeli attacks have been taking out the missile launching pads. I think they at least have a right to do that.

there's also an issue, as there is with all terrorism and guerilla warfare. Who is a civilian and who is not. Is the "pregnant woman" carrying explosives? How about the little kid? Who is that illegal combatant that is going to kill an entire patrol. This is one of the reasons Hamas shut off the border. They needed more fodder for the media campaign.

The flip side of this equation is many (most or all) of those on the ground have friends and family members murdered by these assholes. The fact they haven't had issues with general carnage to me is amazing. Not seeing that kind of payback shows the professionalism of the IDF.

So I guess I'm looking at it more with that knowledge of how these people work. Hamas doesn't care about their own people. That has been very clear from the start. They spend billions of dollars on their tunnel system, and don't have one bomb shelter for their people. They purposefully put missile launchers on school and hospital grounds.

I can't tell if you two are disagreeing or not.

The IDF has difficult task. I think we agree that it's Israel's right to attempt to destroy Hamas. Right? Based on what news outlets focused on reporting truth report, the IDF is doing a responsible job of doing that humanly. Still, I think that the world is justified in keeping a careful watch.

All that Israel does must be understood in the context of 10/7.

Off SS, I received a message from po this morning saying in part...

"Hundreds of millions of people [are] demanding that Palestinians in Gaza be treated as human beings with basic human rights instead of inconvenient vermin needing extermination...

You're really sick, Bill. An non-empathetic sociopath."

My sense is that the three of us agree...

"that Palestinians in Gaza [are being] treated as human beings with basic human rights..."

Based on what's being reported in good faith.

    Right?

  7. by oldedude on November 3, 2023 2:55 pm
My view is that we're just exchanging ideas.

There is some disagreement regarding how the Israelis are doing (I think). And I think it's just a difference of views.

  8. by Curt_Anderson on November 3, 2023 3:31 pm
I am sympathetic with all human death and suffering, but I believe that Ponderer and Donna need to more closely analyze the moralities of war. Not all deaths are the same.

Israel is making the calculation that getting bad press as a result of Gazan citizens being killed is better than allowing Hamas to survive. Israel's choices are terrible and more terrible. They have to eliminate Hamas.

It's not a tenable situation for any country to have a neighbor that's intent on annihilating them. No country would tolerate the sort of attack that Israel endured on October 7th.

Hamas intentionally killed more than 1400 Israelis, including burning people alive and dismembering people. Hamas has kidnapped 200-plus Israelis. Those are crimes anywhere in the world. And they are threatening to do it again.

It's a tragedy that Gazans are being killed, but it's not intentional. Or at least the Israelis intention is to target the Hamas perpetrators and the innocent civilians are "collateral damage". War is unfortunately a messy affair in which the innocent take the brunt of the suffering. Nobody is happier than Hamas when Gazan civilians are killed.

Because Hamas uses the Gazan citizens are human shields, including using hospitals, mosques and schools as launching sites for the rockets they currently are firing into Israel, should not mean that Israel has no right to retaliate.

  9. by oldedude on November 3, 2023 4:36 pm
Okay. And I'm with you on that. I appreciate the IDF going in and really trying not to murder. And like I said, I'm amazed that the individuals in the IDF are doing so well. I'm not sure if I could after that.

They have killed three Hamas leaders, so we'll see how it continues.
