Trump last night at a campaign event told the largely Jewish audience that “if I don’t win this election,” then “the Jewish people would have a lot to do with a loss.”

In an affront to Hispanic machismo, Trump said of the male Latin music superstar Nicky Jam, "she's hot". Mr. Jam afterwards deleted his endorsement of Trump.

Trump's partner in crime, JD Vance, is busy insulting women and immigrants.

    So Trump headlines a campaign event focused on antisemitism but manages to be rebuked by the Anti-Defamation League. That's not easy to accomplish.

    (NY Times)“Pre-emptively blaming American Jews for your potential election loss does zero to help American Jews,” Jonathan Greenblatt, the chief executive officer of the Anti-Defamation League, a Jewish-led human rights group, said on Friday in response to Mr. Trump. “It increases their sense of alienation in a moment of vulnerability when right-wing extremists and left-wing anti-Zionists continually demonize and slander Jews.”

    Mr. Greenblatt continued: “Let’s be clear, this speech likely will spark more hostility and further inflame an already bad situation. Calling out hate is important, but I can’t overstate how the message is diluted and damaged when you employ hate to make your point.”

    I think Harris will win North Carolina, but even she doesn't, she (with an assist from Mark Robinson) is making life tough for Trump in a state that wasn't considered a toss-up until recently.

    Trump's leading in North Carolina now and his vote exceeded polling in 020. I think he'll probably win in 024 but may have to invest campaign resources he'd not planned to before this little brouhaha.

    You cited the wrong poll. Trump "leads" Harris by 0.1% in the aggregate of polls. She is ahead in the most recent poll.

    We already discussed how pollsters adjust based on past election results. 2020 may have been mostly against Trump. 2024 is shaping up to be pro Harris. It’s more likely Harris’s poll numbers are underestimated.

    You theorize that Trump voters, being anti-swamp, lie to pollsters and claim to support Harris. more likely MAGA liars simply don’t talk to pollsters or claim to be undecided.

    What we can't dispute is that Nate Silver was off by 3.9% and RCP by 2.7 in 020. pb speculates that, in 024, the percentage of MAGAs playing fast and loose with polling will be higher...

    ... based on the lies the SwampMedia has been telling about Trump and MAGAs on J6... and the behavior of the ABC moderators at the recent debate. MAGAs are royally pi$$€d about the debate. I monitor right-wing media regularly. I'm pretty d@ng sure I've got this'ne nailed.

    Trump will outperform the polls when votes are counted.

    What it translates into is more of MAGAs being disingenuous with pollsters and Trump outperforming polls by more than Nate Silver's 3.9% in 020. Check RCP. Trump outperformed polls much more in 020 than 016. Polls were off by 7% in Wisconsin.

    pb's simply saying that he expects that trend will continue in 024.

    So, if KK's up by 4%, she's probably still behind in what the vote will be...

    ... and then there's that she'll have to win the popular vote by more than 2% to have a shot in the Electoral College.
