Ex-teacher wins $131K judgment against Allentown School District over Jan. 6 attack
Jason Moorehead watched former President Donald Trump speak on the day of the “Stop the Steal” rally but was a mile away from the Capitol when rioters stormed the building, according to his federal civil rights lawsuit.
A Jan. 7 statement from the Allentown School District implicating Moorehead in the violence allegedly turned his life upside down and made it unsafe for him to return to work, according to his lawsuit.
“We are gratified that a federal jury recognized that the Allentown School District violated Jason Moorehead’s First Amendment rights to free speech, assembly, and political affiliation, and recognized that then school Board Members, Nancy Wilt and Lisa Conover, maliciously and wantonly attacked him. There was never any justification for this insidious and Orwellian course of action,” Fluehr said in a statement to WFMZ Channel 69 on Monday.
pb predicts this'll be the first of many as the Bill of Rights liberties of the unwoke are recognized and upheld.

by Curt_Anderson on August 23, 2024 11:36 am Jason Moorehead who taught middle school social studies apparently was so convinced that the election was stolen, that he drove all the way to DC to protest the election.
After 60 court cases and numerous recounts confirming Biden won, and he still didn't understand our electoral and election systems. I hope that zealot never teaches social studies again.

What is this country coming to when you can't even participate in an insurrection against the government in any way at all without the government incommoding you for it.
by HatetheSwamp on August 24, 2024 6:59 am
po,
Your derangement is unbounded.

But you were all for burning down the cities? Right? Kind of the same way Sherman burned Atlanta, Memphis, and other cities throughout the south?
by Ponderer on August 24, 2024 9:17 am
"But you were all for burning down the cities? Right?" -olde dude
No, I absolutely was not. Why do you have to lie so much?
Any rioter who burned down businesses and other structures and damaged infrastructure should have been tried, convicted, and sentence to prison time for their actions.
And that includes those who burned down that police station. Just because I understood the motivations behind that one specific act and even supported them, those who did it should have gone to jail.
And they should have gone to jail proudly.
by Donna on August 24, 2024 9:32 am
And if any of those lawbreakers had to do jail or prison time, we wouldn't whine about how the the process was unfair.
I think that the most useful and benevolent thing you could do for a MAGA would be to buy them a year's supply of Kleenexes.
by oldedude on August 24, 2024 11:34 am That's interesting, because few of anyone burning down millions of dollars of people's property, the dims supported. Including Walz and his wife. They opened up the windows during the riots "just to smell the change in the air."
And I know neither of you have actually read the conditions of the "prison" they are in. In addition to that, they charged the misdemeanors but sentenced according to the felonies. That's illegal. It's like you exceed your 30 days to get new plates/ driver's licenses when you moved. The state charges you with that misdemeanor, then puts you in jail for six months. Why? because the locals don't like californicators. That's all. But you support absolutely zero constitutionality in our system. And I don't think either of you would last too long in any sort of prison.
by Ponderer on August 24, 2024 12:10 pm
I guess we'll just have to assume that olde dude thought he was communicating an understandable thought. Valiant effort I suppose.
Speaking of complaining about prison conditions, just wait until Felonius Trump gets house arrest in his own penthouse and has the gall to whine his spoiled brat ass off complaining about the conditions.

by oldedude on August 24, 2024 1:22 pmGwen Walz: I Kept The Windows Open During Minneapolis Riots, It Was A "Touchstone" Moment
Minnesota First Lady Gwen Walz on the 2020 Minnesota riots: "I could smell the burning tires. That was a very real thing, and I kept the windows open as long as I could because I felt like that was such a touchstone of what was happening."
Tim Walz’s Wife Loved To ‘Smell The Burning Tires’ During Floyd Riots
An interview reveals that Gwen Walz, wife of Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, proudly kept the windows of the governor’s mansion open during the violent BLM riots of 2020 that ravaged Minneapolis after the death of George Floyd so she could “smell the burning tires.”
The unearthed interview comes as Democrat Gov. Walz, 60, who has accepted the VP spot with Kamala Harris’ campaign, has come under fire for his handling of the 2020 riots, which resulted in more than 1500 businesses being damaged. Walz reportedly delayed deploying the National Guard and law enforcement agencies to quash the riots, and his wife detailed her husband’s struggle during that infamous time of civil unrest, as reported by the New York Post.
“I could smell the burning tires, and that was a very real thing,” said Mrs. Walz in a June 2020 interview with KTSP, reflecting on the 2020 BLM riots that ripped near their home in St. Paul.
“I kept the windows open as long as I could because I felt like that was such a touchstone of what was happening,” she added, noting that there were a lot of “sleepless nights” for the governor.
Walz detailed that the COVID-19 pandemic exacerbated the stress of their home state, which became the nationwide epicenter for discussions about police violence and racism.
An interview clip with Gwen Walz discussing the 2020 riots and her reaction to them resurfaced online Tuesday after Vice President Kamala Harris announced she would be choosing the Minnesota governor as her running mate for the 2024 election. In the interview, which was aired on KSTP-TV’s “5 Eyewitness News Nightcast” channel, Gwen could be heard talking about the riots and her choice to leave the “windows open as long” as the city was burned by looters and rioters.

by oldedude on August 24, 2024 1:56 pm Re: dims supporting riots or violence. In addition of the things Walz said, and has been confirmed, I added a couple of articles that spoke to the left's double standard.
The first response is something Lead and I talk about often. The double standard of the left. We have been consistent. Violence is not a valid response. Chauvin is getting his due. He just got transferred after being shanked. My guess is that's the "practice round." The next one (or maybe the one after) will be a homicide. I said at the time, that's what would happen. I don't like to put cops away, but there's no defense of his actions. Sorry Derek.
Are some riots good and others unacceptable? Surely not. Those who destroy property and commit assaults, whether against law enforcers or civilians, ought to be punished, no matter the cause they claim to support.
But today’s liberals reject this fair, universal standard. Some riots deserve legal protection, they insist, while others must be harshly repressed. It all depends on the politics of the rioters.
Some, such as the excitable Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.), are cheering the prospect of another round of Black Lives Matter riots, er, “peaceful protests,” if the Derek Chauvin trial doesn’t go their way. They’re also up in arms about a new Florida law that strengthens punishment for those who take to the streets to commit violence.
Yet some of the same progressives are also demanding that authorities throw the book at President Donald Trump supporters who participated in the Jan. 6 Capitol riot. They’re also on board with the DC authorities stonewalling demands for more information on the officer who shot and killed one of those entering the US Capitol.
The double standard is overt and infuriating: One group of demonstrators, the left says, should be permitted to commit mayhem. Another group deserves to be locked up as seditious insurrectionists, and the police-involved killing of one of them can and must be brushed aside.
At this point, it’s undeniable that the political far-right calls home to its own Antifa-like anarchists. It is also undeniable, however, that reaction to the protests from conservative leaders roundly condemning the violence from their own side stands in remarkable contrast to the way Democrats and corporate media spent months going out of their way attempting to justify the deadly actions of militant leftists.

LOL! Admittedly I hadn't heard about Gwen Walz's comment because she's not running for VP and I don't follow her.
I get it, though. You MAGAs are trying to paint Tim as a violent left-wing radical with and off-the-cuff comment his wife made once.
If you really think that Americans are going to see a violent left-wing radical in Tim Walz, this is all I have to say to that:
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!

Plus, that's rich coming from soneone who's going to vote for a guy who incited a violent coup attempt that resulted in five Capitol Police officers dying.

Donna,
You're such a bull$#!t€r.
by Indy! on August 25, 2024 10:46 am
Only the GOP can read a story and come away with something 100% diametrically opposed to what the story was actually trying to convey. She didn't have the windows open because she liked the smell - she left them open because the smell reminded her there was something serious going down in their world.
by Ponderer on August 25, 2024 1:17 pm
Or she left them open for as long as she could because they always keep them open for the fresh air, but had to finally close them when the smoke got bad.
by Indy! on August 25, 2024 2:18 pm
Right? The last thing that makes sense is OD's version.
by oldedude on August 25, 2024 2:44 pmOr she left them open for as long as she could because they always keep them open for the fresh air, but had to finally close them when the smoke got bad.
I know neither of you can read, but that's why I put the video in.... You can actually watch her say why she did it. That to her, it was the smell of change happening in the US that she supported. Regardless of what you "want" her to think. Lying about this doesn't change anything.
Talk about WILLFUL IDIOTS!
by Curt_Anderson on August 25, 2024 2:57 pm OD,
I watched the video of Gwen Walz. Touchstone as she, an English teacher, used it, means a measure or gauge of what was happening. Her expression doesn’t convey that she was celebrating it.
by oldedude on August 25, 2024 3:15 pm It was an interview. Her words say it. This isn't MY thought, It's also what is perceived on the leftist websites the dims read. It was more of a warning than anything. Again. If it's in italics, it's a quote. If it is normal text it's a paraphrase, or an outline so indy and you don't strain yourselves reading. I'm extremely careful about quotes. I don't add anything, not punctuation, nothing unless it's noted. What she said is what I've quoted. I also quote a lot more than most others. Why? because they tell they're story the way they see it. If I paraphrase, I'm a different person, and therefore putting my own thoughts into their head. That's why I usually try to go to the original source for the original story.
I know y'all don't want that tied to you and your brand. I wouldn't either. But lying about it doesn't work. It just makes you look like you're lying. People aren't as stupid as you think they are.
by Curt_Anderson on August 25, 2024 3:49 pm OD,
You and your MAGA brethren are simply trying too hard to read something negative into a benign statement.
by oldedude on August 25, 2024 6:47 pm I think you're nothing but a good little german that covers for anything you see from "the party." You don't have the ability to actually make any informed decision without their consent.
IF this were a "benign Statement," kammy and her kuck would have already jumped on it. There would have been accusations of it being read wrong. That isn't the case. They're doing what they've done with everything else that's been true. Let it go until they can't defend it any longer, then make up some lame "excuse" for it.
My view is that's the worse thing they can do, but they like to feed into the hands of the opposition. I am good with that. Just wait for the PACs to start using it.
The other thing you're not getting is that this actually matches his MO. So why would I even doubt it? This is one of those things they are using to keep you, indy, po, and donna strung along. It's nothing but a dog whistle for you all.
Do I think it's a "major" thing? It tells me that everything else we've heard he can't get out of. She "likes the smell of burning tires in the morning! It smells like..... victory!" He doesn't disagree. Which is pretty much like everyone on this site except for Lead and I. As governor, he asked for squat to help the family businesses that were torched. That also tells me something.
by Curt_Anderson on August 25, 2024 7:00 pm OD,
You just wrote today how scrupulous you are in your use of quotation marks. So when you wrote this about Gwen Walz, She "likes the smell of burning tires in the morning! It smells like..... victory!" , you were intentionally lying, because we all know she never said that.
Falsely attributed statements to the running mate's wife reeks of desperation.
by Indy! on August 25, 2024 7:12 pm
If I were a Trumper - the LAST thing I'd be talking about is running mates.
by oldedude on August 25, 2024 8:34 pm Curt- again, I should have known you wouldn't have understood the quote.🙄
Remind me never to use any movie quote on you. You're just too anal to actually understand them.
And I did review the tape. Her voice changes from creating what she was going to say (people do that to try to accurately represent). When she got to the "opening the bedroom windows and keeping them open as long as possible because it was such a touchstone of what was happening, her voice changed into an easiness on her face, typically attributed to not having to think about anything else. Then at the very end her forehead furrows in a "do you understand what I feel about this?"
by Curt_Anderson on August 25, 2024 8:44 pm A normal, non-conspiratorial person would attribute Gwen Walz's uneasiness and furrowed brow to her discussing an event/situation which she found disturbing, troubling, etc. Not that she liked it.
by oldedude on August 26, 2024 3:46 am I told you what her body language said. That's all. I know you won't stop until I agree with the rest of the nazis. Which I'm not going to do. She was very forthcoming with the information. Once she got the chain of events prior to her "feelings" (which everyone would want to get correct in an interview, so she just reached back in her memory to give accurate information), she was very secure with her answer. And explained it just like she wanted to. She also wanted to be believed and understood.
Unless you've done this before, quit while you're ahead. You're looking very, very desperate. Especially if it's "no big deal."
Or she left them open for as long as she could because they always keep them open for the fresh air, but had to finally close them when the smoke got bad.
Please stick to facts. I know facts are the bane of your existence but stick with them. She describes opening the windows to smell the tires burning.
I think she was very honest in this interview. She was very matter of fact in the whole description. No issue that at all. She chose her words carefully. I think there was a matter of pride there. There isn't a conflict between what she did and her feelings on the event. She comes across much more honest than her cuck does.
by Donna on August 26, 2024 8:19 am
You're right, Curt. The MAGAs are reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally desperate.
by Indy! on August 26, 2024 11:08 am
This is the kind of thing somebody hears, maybe they understand it - maybe not, but either way they move on with their day as soon as the story is complete. Not one single vote will change because of this, the tampon thing, the perfectly legal and complete Nat'l Guard service, yada, yada, yada...
BTW, you know what the real story is here? The Rs can't find anything on the VICE prez nominee - much less Kamala. Nobody cares about the veep candidate as long as they seem competent enough to take over if the prez dies. Walz clearly meets that standard. Meanwhile JD? He's losing Trump votes.
by oldedude on August 26, 2024 4:50 pm Donna- Question. What would happen if the VP spouse were hanging out Nazi flags "in remembrance" of Hitler and his staff? Or anti-LGBTQ+ propaganda? Would that make a difference for you?
I don't think you care because you agree with her. I side with the small business owners instead. I think it's fucking repulsive to "celebrate" the burning of our cities. And of course, none of these assholes spent more than a night or two in jail. The small business owners lost their livelihood, and it's just a game "because they were mostly peaceful." Show that bullshit to those who have nothing to start again with. I'm sure they'd listen to you.🤣
