People who say they are voting for Robert F. Kennedy Jr. are probably low-information voters.

There's the Florida Parental Rights in Education Law. The LGBT mafia went bonkers over that...and, failed, thus propelling Ron DeSantis to greater prominence than ever. The "Middle Ages" Tennessee Drag Queen Bill, passed overwhelmingly, and is now law.

Two or three times a week, pb listens to the Clay and Buck show, which replaced Rush, and is now the top rated radio talk show. pb thinks that the show is a snoozer...normally.

But, last week, Clay dazzled. This article was the basis of his monolog.

I hadn't made the connection between the Charlotte and Utah All Star games.

NBA BOYCOTTED NORTH CAROLINA OVER TRANSGENDER BATHROOM BILL, BUT IGNORES UTAH

The NBA may be quietly acknowledging that their commitment to woke ideology may be slipping.

That’s the implication of their actions on transgender legislation, anyway.

Due to legislation on transgender bathroom use, the league decided to move their All-Star Game out of Charlotte, North Carolina.

At the time, the league issued a statement saying they did not believe they could “successfully host’ the game there because of the “climate” created by the bill...

With profound hypocrisy, just a few years later, the league hosted preseason games in the United Arab Emirates. The UAE criminalizes homosexuality, and has previously detained transgender individuals attempting to enter the country.

Now, the league is even more quiet about their upcoming All-Star weekend in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Even though Utah, just last month, passed legislation banning gender-affirming care for children.

The Utah Senate passed another bill preventing the issuance of gender-amended birth certificates to children as well.

The Utah Senate passed another bill preventing the issuance of gender-amended birth certificates to children as well.

Oy effin vey! How things have changed. Eh?

Florida. Tennessee. Now, Utah. As our late poster Six Six Six often said, "Game, set and match!"

T'other day, Curt mocked GOPs and the non-woke by suggesting that what Vladimir Putin believes about woke genderism could qualify him to be a GOP candidate. It could, no doubt.

Here's the truth. Almost the entire population of the world stands against woke gender-ism. Take out northern and western Europe and the US and Canada, virtually no one buys today's woke gender agenda.

And, as Clay makes plain, what's woke ain't even flying here like it did only a very few years ago.

Our generation is dying off and the "woke" are inheriting the earth.

  2. by Donna on February 28, 2023 1:07 pm

I haven't seen any empirical evidence which suggests that wokeness is losing ground or is less dominant than anti-wokeness.

Poll: One-third of voters identify as ‘woke’ (link at bottom)

32% said they see themselves as woke to the extent that they understand the term.
23% said they do not identify as woke while
    13% said they are unsure.
31% said they don’t know what the term “woke” means.

    ***

Based on my understanding of the term, I'd identify myself as being woke, although I don't agree with every opinion that many people I regard as super-woke espouse.

Similarly though, I identify as a progressive Democrat even though I don't agree with everything that most progressive Democrats seem to be in agreement on, like affirmative action.

Donna. Because there are many parts of affirmative action, what are the parts you disagree on? Honest question.

  4. by Donna on February 28, 2023 1:36 pm

Probably all parts. I don't believe in granting special favors to POC because doing so usually comes at the expense of people who had nothing to do with past discrimination.

Here's another trend I've been talking about a lot. The Republican Party should take heed, not that I care if they don't though, but they won't.

Party identification in the United States in 2022, by generation

There's a clear trend. See link below.

    Okay, that's fair enough. Thanks.
