My unqualified legal opinion is this: The litiginous Mr. Trump's lawsuit will be unsuccessful. Trump must rank among the least self-aware people ever. He's complaining about "an affront to this nation’s democracy".

Usually former presidents get involved in noble causes. Trump wasn't satisfied with being the worst president ever, he's bucking to become the worst ex-president ever.

And Trump deadenders wonder why we still mention Trump.

Former President Donald Trump on Thursday filed a $24 million federal lawsuit alleging that Hillary Clinton and the Democratic National Committee launched a wide-ranging “unthinkable plot” in 2016 to smear him and his campaign as colluding with Russian officials.

In the suit, filed in the Southern District of Florida, Trump claims the goal was to fabricate a scandal in an effort to “cripple” his bid for the presidency.

“In the run up to the 2016 Presidential Election, Hillary Clinton and her cohorts orchestrated an unthinkable plot — one that shocks the conscience and is an affront to this nation’s democracy,” he says in the 108-page complaint.

“Acting in concert, the Defendants maliciously conspired to weave a false narrative that their Republican opponent, Donald J. Trump, was colluding with a hostile foreign sovereignty.”

In the discovery phase it's probable that Trump would be required to testify under oath. Super-liar Trump avoids testifying under oath like Superman avoids kryptonite. And no, Trump cannot plead the Fifth in a civil case---especially when he is the plaintiff. His justice department included the likes of Bill Barr and some even worse attorneys general and members of the DOJ. Yet in all that time and with all those resources no charges have been brought against Hillary Clinton.
