I've remarked numerous times, on this forum and the old one, that what it means to be a liberal or progressive has changed radically since I was growing up in the 60s and 70s.
It used to be that those people thought for themselves. Questioned authority.
But, not no more.
These days, people who comply, submit, allow themselves to be led around by the nose are the libs, progressives.

I guess that's how, by the time I was in my 50s, I'd turned away entirely from the Dems to be comfortable as an independent thinking, authority questioning, GOP.
