"Vermont is one of the most vaccinated states in the country and has served as a model for its COVID-19 response throughout the pandemic. But now, the state is experiencing its worst COVID-19 surge yet, with several factors -- including its own success -- to blame, officials said.

In Vermont, nearly 72% of residents are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 -- more than any other state, according to U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention data. At the same time, it has the 12th-highest rate of new COVID-19 cases over the last week, state data released Tuesday shows."

You guys know. I'm triple jabbed. I wear a mask everywhere when I'm outside my door.

But, I also know that the vax that so many of you have put your trust in isn't worth much.

I am the only poster here who defends the right of the antivax and vac hesitant.

We still have no idea of the long term side effects of the vax and we know now...and Vermont demonstrates the truth...that being vaxxed ain't worth a lot.

Vermont is a small state. The small sample size probably leads to statistical anomalies. Vermont's unvaccinated community may overestimate the herd immunity protection and congregate with each other. Also politics plays into this. I will pause and allow you to recover from your shock. In Grand Isle County, which has the highest vaccination rate in the state, that number was 160. You surely must have missed that part. Here's something else to think about, suppose 75% of every 100,000 Vermonters were vaccinated. And out of that number, 75,000 were vaccinated. 100 of those vaccinated however become infected, and out of the remaining 25,000 unvaccinated residents, only 84 become infected. Since, as you can see, more vaccinated than unvaccinated people in the state came down with covid … would it seem to you that this demonstrates that vaccines are pretty useless? Not to mention that the majority of hospitalizations and deaths across the country are among the unvaccinated. Yet you and your wife are fully vaccinated??? Three shots even!!
