Ponderer & Donna,
I imagine that the apparent kidnapping of Savanah Guthrie's mother must be dominating local news even more than it is nationally. How close are you to the old lady's house? Any gossip, insights or theories that you've heard on the streets down there?

How easy would it be to cross the border into Mexico if they crossed at designated border crossing?

Hate to say it, but the odds of her still being alive are pretty slim. Saw something on Friday(?) where they said there was still no proof of life. Indy... using my CIA "vision" super power... predicts they will catch the perps before they get Guthrie back alive.

We're hearing pretty much about what you are, Curt.

I'll pop right back in if I hear anything more though.

Sadly, I think you're probably right, Indy.

I know the area whete she lives. It's in the foothills that overlook Tucson. I used to service a Whole Foods and a Safeway (the one where Mark Kelly's wife Gabby Giffords and several other people were shot and or murdered) in that area.

I'm sure that it's being covered here more closely than in the rest of the country, but they seem to be no closer to solving this case than they were weeks ago. So sad. I can't imagine what her close friends and family not to mention the victim herself are going through (or went through).

Yeah, it's not the way you want to check out. Seems like kidnappings almost always end in a mess. Think maybe it seems easy to the perps, but once you have that person you have to take care of them as well as watch them all the time. I'm not following the case closely, but last I heard the family was willing to pay as long as they got proof of life - so why haven't they? Most likely because something went wrong early. She's 84, so things like a heart attack are not off the table even if the kidnappers are treating her well otherwise. Just sad.
