I asked my nephew for his opinion about the desire for Greenland's riches. As I thought, it would be an expensive source.
"I think that one of the main issues with extracting Greenlands resources economically is the lack of infrastructure. The topography of much of the coastal areas means that it is difficult to build a road network, so you’d pretty much have to build a harbor for each mining area to get the ore out by ship for processing in another country. Then you have the second issue, of weather and icebergs. I’ve worked on the east coast of Greenland before (on land and also offshore on a drilling ship), and you are basically in iceberg alley there.
