Certainly, no one here can argue with her position on this...

Arizona Dem AG blasted for 'dangerous' claim residents can shoot ICE agents under state laws

Kris Mayes cites stand-your-ground protections when agents wear masks and can't be identified as law enforcement

Arizona’s Democratic Attorney General Kris Mayes emphasized the state’s stand-your-ground laws while criticizing ICE operations, saying that people could shoot agents if they’re wearing masks and can’t be identified as law enforcement.

During an interview with 12 News anchor Brahm Resnik on Monday, Mayes explained why ICE agents could be shot at under Arizona law.

"You know, it’s kind of a recipe for disaster because you have these masked federal officers with very little identification, sometimes no identification, wearing plain clothes and masks," Mayes explained.

"We have a stand-your-ground law that says if you reasonably believe your life is in danger, and you’re in your house or your car or on your property, that you can defend yourself with lethal force," Mayes added.

The host interjected to ensure that the AG wasn’t imploring people to shoot at federal officers.

"I want to be careful with that and understand what you’re saying because you know how that could be interpreted," the host clarified.

Mayes asserted she wasn’t directly encouraging individuals to shoot officers, but said if law enforcement couldn’t be identified that, under the law, people could fire.

"Well, it’s the fact," Mayes responded. "We have a stand-your-ground law, and we have, in other states, un-uniformed masked people who can’t be identified as police officers."The host again asks the AG if she is telling Arizonans to shoot ICE agents, to which Mayes responds, "Well… no, but again, if you’re being attacked by someone who is not identified as a peace officer, how do you know? I mean if somebody comes at me wearing a mask, by the way, I’m a gun owner, and I can’t tell whether they’re a police officer, what am I supposed to do?"

The attorney general is also leading an initiative to report ICE behavior, launching a portal on her government website for individuals to report "an incident where ICE engages in assault, or murder, or unlawful imprisonment" that her office will use for investigations.

Mayes clarified she is not telling people to take up arms, but noted that stand-your-ground laws would permit someone to shoot an officer if they are not identifiable as law enforcement.

"No, I am not suggesting people pull out their guns, but this is a don't tread on me state," Mayes added.

    "I thought the MAGA Right..."

You must UNDERSTAND by now that 'MAGA right' is an oxymoron.

  2. by Ponderer on January 24, 2026 9:29 am

Well, MAGA is about as far right as you can get in this country right now but...

Sorry, I beg your pardon... MAGA Republicans.

    Clearly, woke kills brain cells.

    po,

In 024, when there were what?, 17 candidates for the GOP nomination?, all of them, Trump was the least right... by far. All, including Nikki Haley are more right-wing than Trump.

What frigginUniverse do you live in!!!!!?

I was thinking the same thing could (and probably will) happen if ICE keeps breaking down people's doors. We have stand your ground laws here too so the same idea would apply.

  6. by myce on January 24, 2026 1:17 pm

The duplicity of MAGA is absolutely maddening. The Second Amendment fetishists are just a breed of Orwellian battle sheep and they are unwitting supporters of organized crime.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Supreme Court on Thursday blocked a $10 billion lawsuit Mexico filed against top firearm manufacturers in the U.S. alleging the companies' business practices have fueled tremendous cartel violence and bloodshed.

The unanimous ruling tossed out the case under U.S. laws that largely shield gunmakers from liability when their firearms are used in crime.

I keep wondering about the part of the 2nd. Amendment that is supposed to be about resisting tyrannical governments. Does that only work for right wingers? Here is your first tyrannical government. Where are all the gun owners who want to overthrow it?

Also, I didn't look up MN stand your ground, castle doctrine, which differs with every state.

"We have a stand-your-ground law that says if you reasonably believe your life is in danger, and you’re in your house or your car or on your property, that you can defend yourself with lethal force," Mayes added.
So this tells me they have legally defined both of the laws (which I would expect). Good for the state. What this says is these laws are much like CO's. FIRST. You have to be inside your property. Asshole wasn't. Not his house, not his car. His assumption to carry is extremely limited, and it doesn't sound like MN has a clause to defend someone else's life. This would be a state that I would 1. NOT CARRY at all. Woman getting raped by a group of guys. "Maybe" I would call 911 but not give them my name, etc.

"You know, it’s kind of a recipe for disaster because you have these masked federal officers with very little identification, sometimes no identification, wearing plain clothes and masks," Mayes explained.

Everytime you hear that, you need to check the source and never trust them with any viable news for the rest of your life. THEY ARE ALL WEARING Markings Front and Back that identify them as Agents. This is something DHS is doing to play nice with DOJ. And it makes sense.

In this case, none of this matters because shitbag wasn't protecting himself in his house or car.

po- At least two fired on him.
So more than one agent felt he was such a threat they shot him. That shows the incident escalated to the point two agents were willing to be charged with murder to protect themselves and their team. Again, the presence of the gun per se, hyperescalated the situation.

Also, all this crap about what a great guy he was is immaterial to the case. What he did on scene IS material.

First off, Señorita - I wouldn't be so fast to assume "stand your ground" only applies in your backyard. There have been plenty of cases where people murdered someone nowhere near their homes because they were "alpha" males like you who wanted to play with their penises and felt threatened like the little pussies they are. Remember the guy who shot the kid because his radio was too loud? Yeah - not in his yard and he got off scot free. George Whats-his-face who was a fake "Neighborhood Watch" guy who shot the teenager because he bought a soda and candy bar without asking permission? Same thing. Now let's move on to this...

    Queen Odor:
Woman getting raped by a group of guys. "Maybe" I would call 911 but not give them my name, etc.

Very believable - VERY. The guy who claims he "helps people" would stand by and let the woman get raped and most likely murdered (something which - btw - he WHINES about all day on this board that we should be concerned about and locking loading to get ready for it). I bet if you were getting PAID to call 911 you would do it, but I'm glad at least you finally came clean and admitted there is absolutely nothing at all "alpha" about yourself and when push comes to shove? You'd run like - excuse me - ROLL your wheelchair bound ass out of the situation as fast as possible.

    little pussy-
I wouldn't be so fast to assume "stand your ground" only applies in your backyard. First, fuckface, What you "cited" are not considered any sort of "stand your ground cases." You're as bad as cornuda curt. You don't actually understand any of this and you talk shit. Wrong thing.

Your stupid fucking bullshit is under the "castle doctrine." Two entirely different laws. Pull your head out of your ass.

Each state has different laws about "Castle Doctrine" and "Stand your Ground." I know you don't possible know the difference so for fucking once in your life, please fucking read. Got it?

Every case you cited was under Castle Doctrine. I don't agree with a bunch of the cases. I go by a rule of, If someone is trying to break my door down, or there are several people trying to invade my house, my threat assessment goes way up. If they show intent to invade my house (meaning breaking down the door, are attempting to enter with a weapon, breaking a window, etc) I'll call 911 and start the report. Obviously I live in FL. I will ensure my "reasonable" assessment is much closer to CO, which has a higher standard. Why? because I don't want to kill people that have a mistaken address. I want to make sure they mean my grandkids, wife, and myself harm and I can articulate that (big word, I know) which means I can go to court and have everyone in the jury say that I followed the law. Even dikeads like you.

So let's go back to where you are feloniously wrong. Stand your ground(SYG). I've talked about this ad nauseam. In FL, if I see a woman being raped with a knife to her throat, I have the legal right to protect her life. This is NOT an obligation, but a right. I have stated that in that case, I would protect her life. In, say, "denver" if I do that, I turn into the perp. Ergo, in denver, I wouldn't lift a finger, because then I would be charged. Back to FL laws. Under "stand your ground" law I can legally protect someone else's life as well as mine.

The second part of SYG, I'm in a fight. He pulls a knife. I can pull a gun, IF that's my last resort. For best results in this case, he needs to see the gun, etc. I've never had to use SYG, EVER. I live by the "ability to retreat" clause used in many states. I figure if I don't have to fight, better for both of us.

Again, in either case, I've never pulled a gun on anyone in civilian life. I have pulled a weapon on coyotes and raccoons that are abundant where I live. Why? they spread disease. I know you don't have them where you live, in your little condom made of tickytacky and they all look the same. We do here. Also bear and hogs, which I haven't seen much of.

So while you attack me with your little clit trying to "be a real man" which you aren't. You should realize it isn't the size of your dik, it's how you were taught about it. It's really about stepping up and being a good person, not a little pussy that has to insult everyone to make yourself feel better. And then you go into the fetal position under mommy's skirt waiting for her to drip from her gang activity for the night. So you're so fucking helpless that you have to make shit up about things you can't even imagine. Until you understand it has more to do with how you are as a person, and your character, than anything else in the world. That's a fucking hint. Grow the fuck up and unfuck your lack of self esteem. Until you do that, you'll always be the little concha

Here is the actual Florida "Stand Your Ground" law, Odorous - not the Fox Fiction Factory version you're obviously using...

776.012 Use or threatened use of force in defense of person.—
    (1) A person is justified in using or threatening to use force, except deadly force, against another when and to the extent that the person reasonably believes that such conduct is necessary to defend himself or herself or another against the other’s imminent use of unlawful force. A person who uses or threatens to use force in accordance with this subsection does not have a duty to retreat before using or threatening to use such force.
    (2) A person is justified in using or threatening to use deadly force if he or she reasonably believes that using or threatening to use such force is necessary to prevent imminent death or great bodily harm to himself or herself or another or to prevent the imminent commission of a forcible felony. A person who uses or threatens to use deadly force in accordance with this subsection does not have a duty to retreat and has the right to stand his or her ground if the person using or threatening to use the deadly force is not engaged in a criminal activity and is in a place where he or she has a right to be.

There is nothing in the law that says the person who "feels threatened" has to be in their home or their car. So again - AS USUAL - you are misinformed. And again - AS USUAL - the real Floridian is the one who understands Florida law and you're the Colorado poser with a gun pretending to be an informed tough guy.

The law YOU are thinking of is the Justifiable Use of Force law (776.013 Home protection; use or threatened use of deadly force; presumption of fear of death or great bodily harm) which has an identifying number SIMILAR to the Stand Your Ground law, but it's a different law altogether. Close but no cigar for you, Señorita.

And - AS ALWAYS - my citations to the ACTUAL FLORIDA LAWS are below from Online Sunshine - the Florida State government online resource for legal matters statewide...

Which state are you talking about, It Differs with EVERY STATE dikead

  17. by oldedude on January 25, 2026 2:13 pm
concha- FL law under 776 of the FL statute has absolutely NO BEARING in MN, CO, or any other state. They all differ. I thought that was made VERY CLEAR about a dozen times now.

po- Same thing with AZ Stand your ground law, and castle doctrine. The whole thing was about AZ law. While it's great for you to know, it has zero relationship for myce in MN, or concha and me in FL.

He doesn't even understand what we're debating at any given point in time. That's the only reason I believe him when he says he's 85% disabled... he's obviously referring to mentally disabled.

poser- I got as far as OD claiming that the Castle Doctrine applied to George Zimmerman and Treyvon Martin. Smh. The dude is absolutely clueless, but he yells the loudest.
You're hallucinating again. I never said that. And neither would be covered in either of the laws. So you just might want to STFU. Hows the cover band doing? Been to any hockey games lately?

  21. by Navy2711 on January 26, 2026 3:46 pm

    OD,

    "I never said that."

Indeed, you did. In post #11, Indy refers to the Zimmerman/Martin case. In post #12, you said, "Every case you cited was under Castle Doctrine."

Odorous is still working on that English language thing.
