"Based upon a very productive meeting that I have had with the Secretary General of NATO, Mark Rutte, we have formed the framework of a future deal with respect to Greenland and, in fact, the entire Arctic Region. This solution, if consummated, will be a great one for the United States of America, and all NATO Nations. Based upon this understanding, I will not be imposing the Tariffs that were scheduled to go into effect on February 1st. Additional discussions are being held concerning The Golden Dome as it pertains to Greenland. Further information will be made available as discussions progress. Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, and various others, as needed, will be responsible for the negotiations — They will report directly to me. Thank you for your attention to this matter! DONALD J. TRUMP PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA"

Bada bing!

And, gang! Almost exactly as pb predicted frigginYesterday!!!!!

The only thing pb didn't get right? He thought it would take more time.

    What pb said, just yesterday...

Yinz deranged TrumpHaters are too much, an absolute hoot. Europe needs our trade... and our military involvement waaaaaaay more than vice versa.

Even more hoot-alicious!!!!!? The, "The TDS take Trump literally but not seriously, his supporters take him seriously but not literally," principle.

Trump ain't Abraham Lincoln, nor Winston Churchill.

He's negotiating through Performance Art. After all these years yinz're still in the dark over Trump's schtick. Relax. He's putting on a show.

In a year, maybe two, the US and Denmark/Greenland will announce some kind of treaty, or agreement that will get us what Trump really wants... and, it ain't Greenland itself.

    Until then, chill.

OD and pb have been chortling for years over what it must be like for you to have Trump living in your brain!!!!!

Bada bing, bada bam, bada boom!!!!!

It looks like threatening him worked. Good.

  4. by Curt_Anderson on January 21, 2026 12:51 pm
It's an an unspecified “framework", nothing about the United States owning Greenland. It's a face saving exit for Trump.

  5. by HatetheSwamp on January 21, 2026 1:00 pm

    Curt,

This is serious Good Germaning, there, Curt! Youdabomb!

When European leaders push back on what Trump is saying, I'll take what you're suggesting as possess a possible hint of sanity. Otherwise, I'll believe that what seemed inevitable to ole pb happened.

  6. by Curt_Anderson on January 21, 2026 1:21 pm
    HtS,
Explain the "framework" you are congratulating Trump on. "Framework" is only meant to fool the gullible Trump supporters for the length of their attention span, a week or two, into thinking Trump achieved something. Soon it will not be mentioned again.

  7. by oldedude on January 21, 2026 1:29 pm
They are ONE day in any negotiations. Holy crap. you're a moroon. He's putting in something the NATO needs, but doesn't want to fess up the money for. While you were looking at him doing this, he was doing 15 other things because there's no way you can keep up with him. So just whine yourself away, And keep doing that, please. You're keeping yourself unskilled and off center, just the way he likes you.

  8. by myce on January 21, 2026 1:31 pm
If you give a bully what it wants, them it will only invite more abuse. The only way to deal with a bully is to punch it in the face. Trump didn't get shit because he is a bully.

Not sure how much "face saving" there is outside of the Fox Fiction Factory.

  10. by Ponderer on January 21, 2026 3:40 pm

He's totally chickening out. This is him backing out with his tail between his legs. He is not "getting" Greenland, under any circumstances. He knows it.

I'm guessing he'll "work out" a deal... "A great deal, the likes of which the world has never seen..." where America and Europe agree to work together to defend Greenland from Russia or China.

(SHHH! Just don't tell him there is already such a deal and it's called "NATO"...)

  11. by Indy! on January 21, 2026 3:44 pm

He'll probably get some kind of deal where American oil companies will be allowed to negotiate for drilling rights and Exxon and all the others will remind Trump gas is too cheap to drill for more.

  12. by Navy2711 on January 21, 2026 3:50 pm

So, the only thing that's different after this meeting is that Trump is no longer threatening tariffs.

    So much winning! 😆

  13. by Indy! on January 21, 2026 5:06 pm

Mark Rutte says the Greenland issue was never discussed in his meeting with the Trumpster fire.

  14. by HatetheSwamp on January 22, 2026 3:31 am

I'm guessing I'm t'only SSer who watched the NATO Secretary General being interviewed by Bret Baier live ON FOX NEWS! Bahahahahahahahahahaha

My recommendation to all progressives and wokes here on SS. Snuggle down in your burrows of insanity: po's The Rachel, Donna's The Ben and Curt's Holy Trinity. Let them assure you that there's nuthin going on with Greenland... and, while you're at it, with Minnesota fraud, too... and ...

... "take Sominex tonight and sleep,"

  15. by Navy2711 on January 22, 2026 5:55 am

So we just went from "Trump succeeded in making a deal on the Greenland issue" to "The Greenland issue exists." If Idiot moves the goalposts any further he's going wind up in Greenland.

  16. by HatetheSwamp on January 22, 2026 6:23 am

    Navy,

If you possessed the intellectual courage to watch the NATO Secretary General chatting with Bret Baier last night, ON FOX NEWS, bahahahahahahahahahaha, you'd know that Trump, ingeniously, and unexpectedly, turned the resolution of what happens with Greenland into an intra-European squabble.

Stunningly, even seeker-of-truth, pb, was frigginMindBoggled to hear NATO's Secretary General say, of the OrangeTurd,... to Europe's Heads of State and governments, "He's right."

How many times have they played that mikedrop on po's The Rachel, Donna's The Ben and Curt's Holy Trinity... and whatever source you consult for your propagandaFilth?

    Truth, BABY, truth. Yeeeeeeha!

  17. by Ponderer on January 22, 2026 6:47 am

They all know how to play him by now. He's not at all complicated.

  18. by HatetheSwamp on January 22, 2026 7:33 am

    po,

Europeans are at each other's throats, while Trump moves on to the next thing. You really need to seek a source of propaganda beyond merely your The Rachel.

  19. by Navy2711 on January 22, 2026 7:45 am

Not one post by Idiot supports his assertion that Trump "made a deal." His flailing is difficult to watch.

And Ponderer is correct. European leaders are savvy statesmen, not crooked real estate agents. They know how to handle a thug, and they've got Trump's number.

  20. by HatetheSwamp on January 22, 2026 8:07 am

"And Ponderer is correct. European leaders are savvy statesmen,..."

Considering the decline of Europe in the last century, yinz are overestimating their saviosity... by a looooooooong shot.

  21. by Curt_Anderson on January 22, 2026 9:25 am
Besides European leaders having Trump's number, Canada's Mark Carney does too. In his Davos speech, Carney said that China is a more reliable trading partner than the United States. To emphasize that Carney made a deal to allow BYD cars to be imported into Canada. BYD cars are not allowed to be sold in America. BYD cars will sell for under under $35,000 in Canada which will definitely hurt US auto manufacturers, especially Tesla sales in that market.

  22. by Indy! on January 22, 2026 9:40 am

The Art of the Deal... Ask for something ridiculous like Greenland, offend all your allies, destroy the stock market, have all your trade partners look to other countries for better deals, destroy the GDP... then claim VICTORY!

There is no deal, and never will be. Denmark is a sovereign nation and will chart its own path. Europe finally flexed its muscles: muscles that are bigger than America, in fact, and threatened Trump with actions that would destroy the American economy with the hint of NATO responding, also, Trump showed that he is a bully chicken at heart.

The result is the status quo. America could have had new bases there as it stood before the casus belli. The only change may be that NATO will assume more of the responsibility.

  25. by HatetheSwamp on January 22, 2026 1:40 pm

Denmark is a member of the EU and NATO. Done deal!

  26. by oldedude on January 22, 2026 2:41 pm
Lead, to your point. Recently, the Danes actually said they couldn't keep Greenland safe from either China or Russia. They have very little SAM capability, and what's ever there is old. The "Golden Dome" has much better capabilities, and speed to get up in the air. All in all, this is giving the Danes a much better playing field for their money. Trade it for oil? I doncare. I'd rather go to Reykjavik than Thule though.

Oh, FYSA! both canada and uk are negotiating with the chinese. which is interesting. I saw a pict of Xi Jinping and the prime minister of gb a few days ago. So it looks like we may have to worry about them also.

  27. by Indy! on January 22, 2026 5:50 pm

Good thing they're a member of NATO - right queenie? That means Europe, America and a buttload of other countries will come to their aid. Except we have to because China and Russia understand what NATO is for (unlike your daddy and the rest of your MAGAt friends)... it's what they call a "deterrent". It's stops invasions before they happen. Google it and - as always - ask mommy for help when needed. 🙂

  28. by oldedude on January 23, 2026 7:48 am
wrongagain- The only change may be that NATO will assume more of the responsibility.
Again, Denmark had been saying they could fulfill NATO "commitments" (to protect Denmark per se) but Greenland was a huge issue for them. The US is offering to put up the "golden dome" missile defence system, along with other military bases in the North Atlantic. THAT is what Greenland/NATO needs, because no one in the NATO countries (except the US) is willing to take that on. Because of it's location, this is good news for NATO. They don't spend a dime and get a huge bonus. Before, we'd have to go through Denmark to build any structure (not a bad thing). Now, NATO understands that they'd rather have the US there, rather than China or Russians. We're building our infrastructure there. So we don't have to do it later.

Another perk to NATO is that we can keep monitoring Russian ships and subs in the North Atlantic. One problem is that with GB and canada now in negotiations with China, we're wondering who our "friends" really are.

  29. by meagain on January 23, 2026 12:44 pm
The Golden Dome will still require Denmark's agreement, OD. Nothing has changed. I don't rally care about it because I doubt that it will ever be built. It is an illusion, a fantasy. By the time it is in operation, there will be claims that new missiles can beat it. Russia already has one the it claims can't be intercepted.

  30. by Curt_Anderson on January 23, 2026 1:36 pm
One problem is that with GB and canada now in negotiations with China, we're wondering who our "friends" really are. --OD

Allow me to fix it for you OD. One problem is that with GB and canada now in negotiations with China, they were wondering who their "friends" really are, and decided that the United States could not be relied upon as a friend.

  31. by Indy! on January 23, 2026 1:49 pm

OD makes the perfect Trump tool. Whatever daddy wants or says goes - no questions asked. He'll be in charge of lining up people for the gas chambers when that day comes.

  32. by Navy2711 on January 24, 2026 6:23 am

Imagine being a European, witnessing Trump's rhetoric and actions over the past few years, and then hearing a Trump supporter say, 'Wr're wondering who our friends really are."

  33. by myce on January 24, 2026 7:36 am
Yeah. Every day I am shocked by the authoritarian brain rot and moral depravity of America's civilization-destroying savages.

  34. by Donna on January 24, 2026 9:44 am

trump has managed to turn the entire free world against us. As I predicted, they're forming other trade alliances without us.

  35. by Indy! on January 24, 2026 11:28 am

Anyone still believe propaganda doesn't work? This is what 30 years of Fox lying their asses off about everything does to the weak minded.
