If killing suspected drug couriers is justified because drugs are a societal ill, then what are the explanations for the pardons? It seems weird to me, but then again I never gave Trump my vote.

Notable individuals pardoned or granted clemency by Trump include:
Juan Orlando Hernández The former president of Honduras was convicted of three counts of drug trafficking and weapons conspiracy in March 2024 for his role in a conspiracy that moved more than 400 tons of cocaine through Honduras to the U.S.. Trump issued a full pardon in December 2025, leading to his release from prison.
Ross William Ulbricht The creator of the darknet marketplace Silk Road was serving a double life sentence for convictions including engaging in a continuing criminal enterprise, distributing narcotics by means of the internet, conspiring to commit computer hacking, money laundering, and trafficking false identity documents. He was pardoned by Trump in January 2025.
Larry Hoover The founder of the notorious Chicago street gang the Gangster Disciples, which operated a major drug trade, had his federal prison sentence commuted in May 2025. His charges included conspiracy, extortion, money laundering, and engaging in a criminal enterprise while incarcerated. He remains incarcerated due to a separate state-level murder conviction.
Michael R. "Harry-O" Harris A co-founder of Death Row Records, Harris was convicted in 1987 of running a national drug operation (specifically selling crack cocaine), attempted murder, and kidnapping. His sentence was commuted in January 2021 and he received a full pardon in May 2025.
Alice Marie Johnson was serving a life sentence without parole for her involvement in a Tennessee cocaine trafficking operation. She was granted clemency by Trump in 2018.
Desiree Perez A music executive who was convicted of conspiracy to distribute narcotics. She received a full pardon in January 2021.
Gary Evan Hendler He was convicted in 1984 of conspiracy to distribute and dispense controlled substances and served three years' probation. He received a full pardon in January 2021.

Is MAGA, indeed, silent. If it were, how would you know?

  2. by Curt_Anderson on December 8, 2025 4:26 pm
    HtS,
If they were NOT silent about this weird inconsistency, you'd link to MAGA news sites, MAGA YouTube videos, et cetera to refute my headline. Certainly our resident MAGA cultists and Trump apologists haven't said anything about it.

On a related issue, explain why two survivors of the U.S. military's October 16, 2025, strike on a suspected drug vessel in the Caribbean were repatriated to their home countries of Colombia and Ecuador.

If the 80 or 90 people killed are all dangerous narco-terrorists why release those two instead of prosecuting them?

curt. I will say good question. There are now international political issues in play.I know you don't understand "nuances" in the global view, but before you make an "assessment" you need to understand them. For myself. I don't understand this one. And you know what? I don't actually give a shit. Why? because I'm not in the oval office, nor am I in trade negotiations. End of conversation. So I will tell you what a "State Department" dikead told mek, " shut up and fucking color." You don't have a fucking clue what goes on without your "permission." or knowledge. Welcome to the "world" you love and support!

"For myself. I don't understand this one. And you know what? I don't actually give a shit."

Exactly, OD. Bang on. This is the woke SwampMedia reporting to rile up the Dem base. As Shakespeare wrote, Much Ado about Nuthin.

So, OD and Hate don't care? They don't care about the state ordered murder of foreign nationals. Or the egregious violations of international law.

  6. by HatetheSwamp on December 9, 2025 10:07 am

    Baha.

    The post mentions MAGA.

So, OD and Hate don't care? They don't care about the state ordered murder of foreign nationals. Or the egregious violations of international law.

I think you're just a useful idiot for the marxists that know you libtards are too stupid to actually create your own thoughts.

I have talked about this ad nauseum. You haven't realized yet that according to international law, we can do this. So if this is a violation of "international law" so were the attacks on the IRA, PIRA, Rota Brigada, Bader Meinhof, and Red Army Faction that were in concert with jihadists. And the US bombed terrorist camps in Libya and Syria for a couple of decades. TdA and Cartel de los Soles with full agreement (and getting rich by the kickbacks) to the respective government officials.

Actually the Cartel de los Soles, is a term used to describe criminal networks within the Armed Forces of Venezuela involving high-ranking officers and political officials who are involved in the international drug trade. The name is mostly a journalistic shorthand for a system of corruption by which military and political officials profit by working with drug traffickers.

Hey, piece of shit. I already talked about this. Twice. No I don't fucking understand why he would do such a thing. And I'm adamantly against it.
    piss off.

And if you could actually understand english, I was directly answering wrongagain. Yes, that was one of the rabbit holes you libtards usually do on this site. So I was very selective about what I was answering. If you don't understand english, and since you're a racist, I don't know what else to do.

First all, there is no war going on. We are not at war with Venezuela. Even if we were in a war with Venezuela killing those survivors would be a war crime. But arguing over wartime rules, or calling them enemy combatants is pointless. We have no more legal right to blow up those boats and kill the people on them or in the water than does Venezuela or any other country have a right to kill American citizens and/or blow up their boats. Second, no politician including a president can simply call someone a terrorist and order them put to death. Even criminal drug dealers and/or smugglers are not terrorists; terrorism involves violent acts with political, religious, or ideological goals. Criminal’s motivations are based on self enrichment not on political gains. Motives are what differentiates terrorists from criminals even though both commit criminal acts. Calling someone a terrorist is not a catch-all phrase that can be used to justify killing people. And that is exactly what this administration is doing.

  13. by oldedude on December 9, 2025 7:47 pm
you stupid fuck. NO we are at war with your buddies, the terrorists. When did that escape you. Have you not been reading anything

But arguing over wartime rules, or calling them enemy combatants is pointless.
actually that is EXACTLY THE POINT.

Second, no politician including a president can simply call someone a terrorist and order them put to death. Even criminal drug dealers and/or smugglers are not terrorists; terrorism involves violent acts with political, religious, or ideological goals.
Prove to me that isn't wrong, shithead. Oh BTW here are the actual definition of Terrorism. the unlawful use of violence and intimidation, especially against civilians, in the pursuit of political aims: So maybe you actually need to read the "law." or you need to STFU.

to answer you last accusation. Prove to me they do NOT fulfill the law as I cited it per FBI declaration.[1]
So actually, what you need to do is to quit being on the terrorists' side in every terrorist act there is in the present day. My answer is; GFUS.

OK, OD, I will repeat what I asked in comment #11.

"For myself. I don't understand this one. And you know what? I don't actually give a shit."

    Exactly, OD. Bang on" ---HtS

    Isle-
Second, no politician including a president can simply call someone a terrorist and order them put to death. Even criminal drug dealers and/or smugglers are not terrorists; terrorism involves violent acts with political, religious, or ideological goals.

Ahhhhh, yeahecan. trumpster used the PATRIOT ACT, which is what is used against jihadists. Except TdA and Cartel de los Soles kill many more Americans than the jihadists. And yes, we routinely kill them in their state sponsors. And YES, they are far more politically active than the jihadists.

Just a question for you. Are you arguing they're not violent? They don't terrorize cities and towns? Or maybe they're really good people in their hearts.

    From the FBI:
International terrorism: Violent, criminal acts committed by individuals and/or groups who are inspired by, or associated with, designated foreign terrorist organizations or nations (state-sponsored)

Domestic terrorism: Violent, criminal acts committed by individuals and/or groups to further ideological goals stemming from domestic influences, such as those of a political, religious, social, racial, or environmental nature

Venezuelan drug-runners = Iraqi WMD = pretense for invading a soverign nation to steal its vast oil reserves.

How many times to we have to go through this? For suckers, it never sinks in.

  19. by oldedude on December 10, 2025 3:29 pm
Donna- I understand this is a small part of your post. That said, you still are believing your debunked libtard talking point about WMD being in Iraq. The fact is that Saddam used sarin against his own people and the iranians. I still don't think it was remotely a decent idea to go into iraq at least without getting Afghanistan done first. If at all.

So just one question. Why if george was lying, why are US Military being treated for Sarin gas exposure? And it took the VA over 10 years to admit it, and are just now actually treating for it (35 years later).
    Khamisiyah, Iraq chemical storage demolition[1]
Sarin gas blamed for Gulf War syndrome[2]
Gulf War and Health: Volume 1. Depleted Uranium, Sarin, Pyridostigmine Bromide, Vaccines.[3]
In March 1991, during the cease-fire period, troops from the U.S. 37th and 307th Engineering Battalion destroyed enemy munitions throughout the occupied areas of southern Iraq (PAC, 1996). The large storage complex at Khamisiyah, Iraq, which contained more than 100 bunkers, was destroyed. Two sites within the complex—one of the bunkers and another site called the “pit”—contained stacks of 122-mm rockets loaded with sarin and cyclosarin (Committee on Veterans' Affairs, 1998). U.S. troops performing demolitions were unaware of the presence of nerve agents because their detectors, which were sensitive only to lethal or near-lethal levels of nerve agents (CDC, 1999), did not sound any alarms before demolition. It was not until October 1991 that inspectors from the United Nations Special Commission (UNSCOM) first confirmed the presence of a mixture of sarin and cyclosarin at Khamisiyah (Committee on Veterans' Affairs, 1998).[3]

30 years later OD is still trying to sell Lil Georgie Boy's lie that led to the worst foreign policy blunder in US history. Good lord you are so gullible, Odoroius. And besides, you get the welfare check no matter what you believe. 😂

  21. by oldedude on December 10, 2025 8:20 pm
I AM NOT SAYING SHIT. This is what YOUR government is having to pay (or not) to people that have been exposed to sarin. So you're nothing more than one of the stupid little bitches that can't believe FACTS. THIS IS THE GOVERNMENT ADMITTING IT WAS FUCKED UP. And you'll never change because you hate everything, including and especially veterans dying from what they came in contact with, while YOU stayed home in the fetal position under your daddies skirts because you're a coward.

  22. by islander on December 11, 2025 1:31 pm

"you still are believing your debunked libtard talking point about WMD being in Iraq."

Since I'm probably one of those you are calling a libtard, what is the talking point that we believed about Saddam's stockpiles and manufacturing of WMD that led Bush Jr to invade Iraq that has been debunked?

  23. by meagain on December 11, 2025 1:56 pm
He cannot use the Patriot Act to kill them, OD. Not even if they were terrorists, except in the course of actual defence.

  24. by oldedude on December 11, 2025 6:07 pm
    Yes he can... jussayin...

look at the british hits on IRA/PIRA targets...were they "justified?"

  25. by Indy! on December 11, 2025 8:12 pm

The IRA is actually a terrorist organization (drug runners are not) and the IRA is actually at war with Great Britain (drug runners are not at war with us - they are merely meeting a supply/demand issue the USA created all by itself.)

You and your orange ass monkey Daddy can't change the meanings of words and international agreements simply because the fat baby man wants to blow brown people up like you.

  26. by Donna on December 12, 2025 7:07 am

    From AI:

Yes, U.S. military personnel were exposed to sarin gas in Iraq during both the 1991 Gulf War and the later Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF). These exposures were primarily from the unintended release of agents when U.S. forces destroyed Iraqi chemical weapons stockpiles, rather than from active deployment by enemy forces.

    *

My 1st cousin's daughter's late husband who served in Iraq died of cancer. Could have been from such exposure.

But WMD weren't the real reason the US invaded Iraq in 2003 nor are drugs the real reason the US is threatening Venezuela with uet another regime change war. It's obviously just another oil grab.

  27. by Indy! on December 12, 2025 8:53 am

Bingo. WMD and the "war" (🙄) on drugs are just marketing cmapaigns created by the MIC. But that is SO INCREDIBLY FAR OVER Odorous' (probably fat) head he'll never get it. He'll just continue being a tool for them to get a welfare check every month.

  28. by Donna on December 12, 2025 10:22 am

Americans are notorious for being easily propagandized. I just watched a clip of Jesse Watters over at Fox News. Even he gets it. He was going on and on about how Trump is going to be making military hits throughpout South America to go after their "mineral wealth", but he framed it as a good thing.

If couldn't be more obvious. What was Trump's reason for threatening to invade Greenland? Its vast mineral reserves. Ukraine? He's angry that Zelenskyy didn't accept his proposal to share Ukraine's vast mineral wealth with the US.

The situation with Venezuela couldn't be easier to read.

  29. by HatetheSwamp on December 12, 2025 10:28 am

I'd LOVE a link to that... because I'm suuuuuure you didn't see that live. Ben, again?, out of context, again!!!!?

  30. by Donna on December 12, 2025 10:29 am

🤣 You're free to debunk it.

First, To the family, I'm extremely empathetic about their loss. You also missed my post about the government refusing to see that as an "issue" for over 20 years. Lots of folks died in that time, with nothing but refusals for help from the VA. Sounds like the canadian "health" system
Interesting. Because we've bought very little from them comparatively. obomber bought the most, and it's dropped off significantly, as Iraq can send to their neighbors and help them stay off of russian oil.
    eia.gov

  32. by Donna on December 12, 2025 2:19 pm

I don't understand what any of that has to do with robbing and controlling another country's natural resources.

  33. by oldedude on December 12, 2025 2:28 pm
Second paragraph. We haven't bought much of the "oil" you mentioned in Iraq. obomber bought the most. They have a good amount they are drilling for, the US doesn't buy much of it. At all. So most of the oil we helped rebuild in the country is a main export for Iraq.

  34. by Indy! on December 12, 2025 2:35 pm

Remember when Bush said we needed to free up Iraq's oil so they could pay us back for all the money we WASTED getting rid of Saddam? How did that one work out? 🤣

So for as Jerry Watters? Yeah, my Dad loved that guy. We'd sit their watching him and everything coming out of that cartoon caricature of a wingnut would be a lie. So I'd say "that's not true" and Dad would get all huffy...

"What do you mean it's not true"

Me: Dad - he's lying. That's the Fox business model.

Dad: No, he's not! Fox is fair and balanced!

Then I'd pick up the phone and google whatever government entity data was in question and show him EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. that Jackie Watters was lying his ass off.

  35. by oldedude on December 12, 2025 2:37 pm
Again, this is why "dad" hates you so much.

  36. by Indy! on December 12, 2025 2:43 pm

Stop projecting, Odorous. We're all sorry you had such a terrible childhood, that your parents hated you and rented you out as a willing sex toy to all the local scumbags for a night of fun at a very reasonable price.

Okay, that's a lie. Not the last part - the part about all of us being sorry that was your childhood. 👊😎
