I HatetheSwamp. Still, I observe its machinations with intense interest.
I oppose nearly everything Nancy Pelosi believes in and, since I changed my party registration from Dem to GOP, I abhorred nearly everything she did. But,...
... at the same time, I've been awed by the way she played the Swamp game.
Pelosi may be the most effective party leader in the history of the US House of Representatives. I've noted that, here on SS, numerous times in recent years.
A few months back, I opined that, were Pelosi still the House Dem leader, Trump's OBBB either would not have passed or, at the very least, would not have passed as quickly as it did.
I'm a libertarian-ish GOP these days... and I HatetheSwamp. I can't say that I'm sorry to see Pelosi go.
It's sort of like hating the Patriots back in the day, after my Chiefs scored a TD to take the lead, with 2:00 left, knowing that it was almost a certainty that Tom Brady was going to engineer a final drive and win another one for Bill Belichick and his despicable band of cheaters.
I hated the result of the game. But, I had to admire Brady's mastery of it.
