So, ole pb got exactly what he wanted out of the NYC mayoral race: A, for all intents and purposes, Communist, won in a freakin landslide. Thing is, the Big Apple doesn't elect a king.
I used to live in northern New Jersey and listened to WABC which was a talk radio program in the early days of Rush. At the time, Joy Behar's show ran right before Rush, so, back in that day, conservatives didn't dominate radio talk.
Anyways, I learned a lot about the politics of New York at the time. And, I know this: NYC's Mayor has, comparatively, much less power than the US president has in our federal government.
From AI: "New York City... is a partnership between the Mayor and the 51-member City Council. The Mayor is the chief executive, leading the government and overseeing city services, while the City Council is the legislative body that passes laws, approves the budget, and holds public hearings.
So, if you're one of those who are celebrating the election of Zohran... and who also claim to be worried about Trump claiming power that's not his... but who, also, hope to see Zohran implement the Stalinist policies and programs he campaigned on, slow down.
It ain't happnin.
Yinz are going to have to get the very powerful City Council to turn those commie-ish policies and plans into law.
I can't wait for Zohran to place his hand on the, uh, Quran, and to take the oath.
No Kings, BABY, eh!!!!!?
