So, ole pb got exactly what he wanted out of the NYC mayoral race: A, for all intents and purposes, Communist, won in a freakin landslide. Thing is, the Big Apple doesn't elect a king.

I used to live in northern New Jersey and listened to WABC which was a talk radio program in the early days of Rush. At the time, Joy Behar's show ran right before Rush, so, back in that day, conservatives didn't dominate radio talk.

Anyways, I learned a lot about the politics of New York at the time. And, I know this: NYC's Mayor has, comparatively, much less power than the US president has in our federal government.

From AI: "New York City... is a partnership between the Mayor and the 51-member City Council. The Mayor is the chief executive, leading the government and overseeing city services, while the City Council is the legislative body that passes laws, approves the budget, and holds public hearings.

So, if you're one of those who are celebrating the election of Zohran... and who also claim to be worried about Trump claiming power that's not his... but who, also, hope to see Zohran implement the Stalinist policies and programs he campaigned on, slow down.

It ain't happnin.

Yinz are going to have to get the very powerful City Council to turn those commie-ish policies and plans into law.

I can't wait for Zohran to place his hand on the, uh, Quran, and to take the oath.

No Kings, BABY, eh!!!!!?

Whenever actually good things happen for any citizens of this once great nation, MAGA Hats like pedophile's bitch have just got to label it as the end of the world. They are so freaking predictable. They are such mindless automatons.

  2. by HatetheSwamp on November 5, 2025 6:49 am

Well, MAGAs, maybe, po, but pb was rooting for Zohran to kick electoral butt, and he did. Yeeeeeeeeeeeeha!

Still, I wonder. Does the NYC election say more about Cuomo than Zohran? Can you see the election being a tussle between the old Dem Party than what the party will become? Cuomo was a horrible candidate... but, he's the best the old-school Dems had to offer.

It seems to me that Trump redefined the Reagan GOPs for the 21st century and that Zohran... and AOC/Bernie... are redefining the Bubba/Hillary Dems for this century.

A day or two ago, I noted that it's likely that Zohran isn't ready for prime time. He's unbelievably charismatic and articulate... but, he has no executive experience. Putting his, well, honestly, as pb's noted, Stalinesque, vision into practice, through the City Council may require skills he doesn't have.

One other observation about Zohran transforming Dems in the way Trump has among GOPs: I don't think that the gospel Zohran preaches will play as well in the critical blue wall states as MAGAism has, but we'll see.

Which soicialist countries were ruled by kings, Brown Shorts? And more specifically which ones were ruled by kings that were only elected mayor in one city of that country? 🤔

Trump, Musk and Stephen Miller endorsed Andrew Cuomo, yet he lost. Theories??

  5. by Indy! on November 5, 2025 9:00 am

All 4 of them suck and NYers know it better than anyone else? 🤔

I'd like to know who might take advice from Stephen Miller when it comes to elections or anything political in nature now that Adolf Hitler is dead.

  6. by Curt_Anderson on November 5, 2025 9:16 am
    I know, Indy! 😎

In NYC getting those endorsements is the kiss of death times three. Cuomo would have been better off with Luigi's endorsement instead.

"Trump, Musk and Stephen Miller endorsed Andrew Cuomo, yet he lost. Theories?"

Interestingly, and, as you'd know better than I, on election nights, Fox puts the results of its own poll of voters on the right side of the screen while the commentators comment. As I'm certain didn't surprise you, Trump's approval in NYC is in the mid 20%s. My "theory" is that Trump has very little clout among NYC voters.

Indy, Re: "Which soicialist countries were ruled by kings, Brown Shorts?"

England and the Netherlands are socialist-ic and both have monarchs. But, that's not my point. For Zohran to successfully implement his Stalinism, it'll be because of the city council.

I can't wait for Zohran to place his hand on the Quran and take his oath of office. For fans of folly such as myself, I'm expecting the drama will be tons of fun.

There has never been a purely socialist country. Asking for an example of one like all the idiot MAGA Hats demand, let alone one that was a success, is like demanding an example of a working perpetual motion machine.

  10. by oldedude on November 6, 2025 1:32 pm
Russia, China, North Korea, Cuba (for awhile), Nicaragua, are just a few countries with socialist systems.

  11. by Ponderer on November 6, 2025 1:44 pm

And none of them are purely socialist. That's my point.
